As the title says.
Story:
Rooted the phone, copied CWN to the system.
Backed up my stock ROM and was thinking of using FreeXperia ROM.
Flashboot unlocked the bootloader, was wiping the whole data (NOT SD CARD) on the phone to get ready.
Then... SD Card could'nt get mounted.
I'm stuck, can't restore because its on the SD Card.
The SD Card holds 5,33 GB files and is a 16 GB SD Card.
EDIT: Wrong place, solved the problem.
format your sd card fat32

Heyy All,
I have a couple of questions.. I wanted to partition my SD card so that apps2sd would work. Here are the steps i took:
Did a nandroid backup
I copied all information from SD card to my computer
rebooted phone into recovery
chose partition SD card when finished upgraded ext2 to ext3
copied and pasted all files back onto the SD card
nandroid restored
in recovery I am able to access all files on the SD card but when i reboot my phone an icon comes up in the notification bar that looks like a SD card with an exclamation point with the error "Blank SD card or unsupported file system"
Can anyone tell me how to fix this? or why my files are no longer on the SD card when I reboot my phone?
Thank you all very much!
You shouldn't have posted this in two different places. See my answer in the other thread.
Yes I did reboot but still says the sd card is not there under settings, however if I boot via xRecovery I can access the sd card with the xRecovery menu
I did try deleting the android folder on the sd card, still no help I guess I could tryu a different sd card when I get home
well getting further, it wrks with my 2gb sd card just not with the 8gb card even when I did a reformat,
hello.
i don't have sd card in my SGS I9100G, but I'd like to root the phone soon.
I read few threads in here, they required me to install the .zip files in sd card.
Is it possible for me to install the .zip in internal memory instead in sd card?
Yes, a lot of the time sdcard refers to internal memory. An external SD card is never required.
For flashing with a zip file (over cwm), the zip file have to reside on internal usb storage !!
For restore and backup purposes it is better you have no sd-card, because the actual cwm have problems with sd cards.
cwm V 4.* ==> no problems
cwm V 5.* ==> problems (kitchen doesnt work 100%, backup/restore problems)
If you are using a sd-card, you will get problems with cwm 5.*
thanks guys,
i thought the one they referring the sd card is for ext sd card.
thanks again guys for quick response
I was in Sub-Zero recovery and for some reason the phone cannot MOUNT the EMMC which to the recovery is the External SD card, that I have read. So I decided to PARTITION it, and partitioned it alright, my INTERNAL SD CARD. It completely FORMATTED IT, all my music, my ROM downloads, recovery downlaods. WTF? WHY WOULD IT TOUCH the internal SD card, when i told it to touch the external SD card? And yes I told it to do the external NOT internal.
When I went to mount it, it STILL COULD NOT MOUNT IT. I put my SDCARD into my computer directly it had to format it? There should of been 4GB of FAT32 left, if the partitioning did it correctly. It didn't and I still had to format it. It reads fine in my computer it's an 8gb SDHC card, tell me this phone can't read SDHC??
Why can't this phone read this SD card, when my computer can read it fine, and why did it touch the internal SD card, getting rid of my backups, and everything else? Why would the recovery do that?

What rom and version were you running? CM9 swapped /emmc and /sdcard in one of the latest commits, it's possible the ROM you're running cherrypicked that commit.
Hi guys!
I did something very stupid. I wanted to simply format (wipe) my SD Card and used TWRP to do it. Unfortunately it seems TWRP is very misleading in this regard:
Instead of using formating the card from withing the "Wipe" menu, I have formated it using "Advanced > partition SD". This has apparently caused my SD Card to become recognized as part of my internal memory (as described here: androidforums[DOT]com/threads/make-sd-card-as-internal-memory.887942).
Now I took my SD Card out and formatted it to exFAT using Windows but it didnt help.... My SD Card is still being used as internal and I cannot acces the SD Card from Windows anymore.
How can I fix this? It's really annoying.. the whole internet is writing how to use the SD Card as internal memory but nobody writes how to revert it...
Thanks in advance
