Installation aborted - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Why my xperia X10 can't install ROM in xRecovery mode?
It said 'Installation aborted' for each?
Why??

What is the complete error?
You might have the wrong recovery version. Are you using xREC? or CWM rec.

xrecovery v0.3

recovery
how to noe use which recovery?

Check thread which you downloaded your custom roms, they will tell you to use which recovery in installation guide
If you asking about how to use different recovery, flash different kernel ftf files via flashtool. Only available for unlocked bootloaders.

[Q] How to install CWM over xREC....?

I'm using x10 mini currently running on minicm 1.0.1 (Its clear that my phone is rooted and runs custom roms).
Now i wanted to switch to ClockworkMod Recovery over xRecovery.
The cook of minicm rom incorporates with CWM and has given an attachment of cwm telling to flash it with xrecovery. I'm unable to understand the process of flashing - whether to go into update.zip or custom.zip from top of xrecovey menu.
Please anyone suggest small guide to help me out!
Thank you.
EDIT: I flashed the cwm.zip with custom.zip ->Install custom.zip from sdcard from xrec menu And it worked !
I was just geting too serious .
Thank you everyone for helping me !
You can use Snoopo's installer http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14479740&postcount=75
or U can use xRec zip to change it into CWM, if U want it I can provide U a link

No, he can't, he have a mini, not a mini pro

[Q] I have xrec, need CWM. Does that have to be a nightmare?

Currently using one of CM7 roms with latest firmware for mini pro. xrec is working, and so I have tried flashing both aiopackage.zip and tried dualRecoveryMiniPro.zip, however that does not do anything. No matter what button is pressed during boot, it boots into xrecovery
I need CWM for Andread 2.3.5 right? So can anyone tell me how to do this when I am not a developer?
Thanks in advance!
try this.. hope this will fix things
cwm via xrec
install this using xrec
Thank you so much!

Whilst your concerns are valid, you have posted this thread in the wrong forum. This doesn't belong in the dev forums, it belongs in the the Question and Answer forums here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1152
P.S. xRecovery is pretty much redundant now for roms higher than Android 2.1 eclair, as ClockWordMod (CWM) Recovery is what everyone uses. There is a .zip you can flash in xRecovery which upgrades the recovery to CWM recovery which will be the recovery you need to install mini cm7, (however if what you say is true, that the moment you turn your phone on and repeatedly press back it doesn't enter xRecovery, then you will need to use Sony Ericsson Update Service or PC Companion or the Sony Ericsson website software page to repair your phone, then you will need to root your phone again and install xRecovery) ; here is that .zip that upgrades your xRecovery to CWM recovery: View attachment CWM3_for_xReC.zip Good luck
and don't post questions in the development forum again! Post them here instead please! : http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1152

do it? you will loose your data but... your phone should work again.
I think you anyway need custom kernel for that rom..
you can try fix with seus or you can find the stock rom and flash via flashtool

ok.. i fixed on my x10mini pro with stock rom flas via flash tool
but if you will again flash some custom rom.. don't touch kernel if you didn't unlock bootloader
you can try later flash some custom rom that doesn't need custom kernel

do you use x10 mini pro od x10 mini
SEUS ist the Sony Ericsson update stuff of course you can use flashtool, but for somekind of "global reset" i recommend using SEUS.

If the installation got aborted, it means you can't boot into the system because it didn't install. Which ROM did you try to install, and what was the error it gave when you tried to install it?

E10-kernel, U20 is for x10 mini pro (the one with the keyboard)
But for the ROM you chose you need the nAa-Gingerbread kernel (nAa-14)

I think that you simply can't install a stock firmware through a custom recovery.
