Is something like this in development? I know this would probably come with a custom ROM but one could be useful now. Just to toggle amd edit things. IE keyboards and what not

No custom settings yet. Use AnyCut app.
Do you think there will be? Or will we just have to wait for roms?

Wait for roms most likely.

Hi, I'd like to use the torch.apk from Cyanogenmod in a Sammy rom. I already extracted it, I'd like to know how to make it work. If that's possible.

Not sure if it is because the led is part of camera controlled hardware which is kernel dependant. The torch app is only CM which would lead me to think it's not possible.
Although the range of torch apps in the market say otherwise and I also have no idea what I'm talking about, and so yeah there's my unhelpful answer

I feared so. Thanks.
So I'm kinda new to the rom stuff.
I'm currently intersted in vanilla android rom as I really dig the way it looks and how it functions.
Is there a vanilla android rom that supports:
1) fm radio
2) tv out via mhl
3) burst shot option in camera and some other cool camera options
I may sound like a noob haha but I really want to know because I saw that most roms don't support this, or maybe all of the roms don't support it?
Looking forward to your answers
Unfortunately those options are not supported. Those are known issues with CM10 ROMs and AOSP mate

I see.. so your're telling me there is no vanilla rom out there that supports the things I've specified.
hmm is there any other rom (I don't care which type) that supports some of these features?

I'm using InsertCoin and can confirm that radio and camera burst mode works fine. If you're asking about an AOSP ROM then I'm afraid I can't answer.

There are AOSP ROMs that support fm radio, they usually specify in the thread what to download for that, but other than that option the rest isn't supported yet. But you can try any other Samsung based custom rom to get the things you listed

So I'm surprised I haven't been able to find an app that already does this, besides some launchers having few options, it would be cool to have an app able to change the system transition animations with multiple animations to choose, most likely it will need root but cmon most people in these forums already have root! Hope some cool devs see this post and start working on it, cheers!

If your device is supported, try Framework Tool on the Play Store.

I'm currently using this on my GS3 on LiquidSmooth(4.2.2)...
It works. It does what it should but most of the options for transitions are greyed out.
Only a few are selectable. I'd love to try and see them all but can't.
Any clue why?

stock roms usually don't support this. You'll need to flash a custom rom with support for emoji's. I know CM10.1 does have it.

Ok, wasn't sure.

Is it possible to speed up the multitasking switcher? It has some annoying delay. Or even change it to the stock android one?

I wish there was. Maybe a dev can tell us if there's a way to use the stock android switcher.
There must be a way. The m8 had a mod that allowed it. Can anyone chime in ?

Ah...yeah that's possible. They edited the androidpolicy.jar and the framework-res.apk. I wouldn't know where to start once I got them decompiled so I'll leave it to a themer/developer.

It looks almost the same.
The multitasking switcher in this ROM is slow to come up. Like pretty laggy.
So if anyone really hates the lag on the multitasking. Switching to ART definitely helps.
It seems the lag is because its waiting for a long press for the menu. Hmm. I tried disabling it with an xposed module but that doesn't help. Although apparently the s5 active is fine because that has all buttons needed.

Yeah, I know.. Just figured it out.
It must be a fix they applied to the active ROM that doesn't make it wait so long.
Might just install a custom ROM and get it over with and see how that helps.

I honestly think it's just down to the standard TW lag. When I have one or two apps open, there isn't any lag in opening the switcher. It's only when I have a ton open that it lags for me. You have no idea how much I want the GPE S5 to come out so we can get CM and everything else working.

I've heard on the active s5 there's no lag at all. I guess we'll see. Installing a kernel and ROM now

A CM rom? Let me know how it is. I'm not going to flash it since a lot of stuff don't work, but I'll almost guarantee you that the lag will be gone.

I haven't done a cm rom yet. I've done a custom TouchWiz rom. And paired with ktoonsez kernel. This phone is much faster. Lol

If you think those are fast, wait till you try an AOSP rom.
