HELP needed: Cannot flash to stock - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I'm in trouble. I have a SGS2 with stock 2.3.4 and did the cfroot a while ago and all went well.
Today I got a notice from KIES that an update was available, and so I started the update which failed.
After that my phone won't start at all and got stuck on the screen which said that I should use KIES recovery mode. I tried that but it didn't worked.
So I have tried to reflash with the cfroot, but that also didn't help.
So I wanted to reflash the stock rom as described here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
but that's also giving me errors.
Odin doesn't even write the rom it gave me this:
<ID:0/012> File analysis..
<ID:0/012> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/012> Initialzation..
<ID:0/012> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/012> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/012> boot.bin
<ID:0/012> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/012>
<ID:0/012> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
<ID:0/012> Removed!!
Can anyone help me please ?? I need the phone for my work
Best Regards,
Stefan.

Pull out the battery, reinsert the battery after 30 seconds, go in downloadmode (volume up + menu button + power button) and reflash the stock rom you need with Odin. Do NOT tick repartition or anything. You`ll find the stock rom here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278. Do NOT use a pit file. Flash the rom in PDA. Good luck

Dear Stefan,
let me suggest:
1. Try to use another USB port.
2. Try to use another USB cable.
3. Try to boot into recovery mode (Volume UP + Home + Power, and hold the keys until the recovery menu appears), then choose factory reset and reboot.
4. Start Odin as Administrator and make sure that KIES (and no process of KIES) is running on your PC. Then try to flash the stock ROM again.
5. After flashing, try to boot into recovery mode (Volume UP + Home + Power, and hold the keys until the recovery menu appears), then choose factory reset and reboot.
Hope that it helps.
Good luck !

Solved !!!
YES !!!! IT WORKED !!!!!
I'm not sure which tip did the trick as I did all the things you both said and it worked !
I'm so happy !!!
YOU GUYS ROCK !!!!!

[Q] odin/boot/firmware/zimage

I installed Cyanogen mod, didn't like it so wanted to go back to the stock, as it was "out-of-the-box"
Loaded up odin (latest) put phone into download mode, loaded I9100XWKF3_Kernel kernel, all went well.
Code:
<ID:0/003> Added!!
<ID:0/003> Odin v.3 engine (ID:3)..
<ID:0/003> File analysis..

Now phone is stuck at the start screen
"Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100"
Where do I go from here? Thanks for your time.
Try flashing stock again.
And how would I go about doing that?
I've just redone Odin with XW_NEE_KI4, am I supposed to then boot into the clockwork mod recovery option to install a ROM?
If so, I've downloaded the VillainROM-3.0.0-signed rom, copied it to my SD card, but it isn't showing up.
And I've tried with a different rom only to be told that the file integerity or something along those lines has failed, leaving back at the boot/lock screen.
Can someone tell me how I can get my SD card to show up? Or of a way I can connect my phone to my PC so I can copy the VillainROM-3.0.0-signed onto the phones memory so I can install it via that way?
Thanks, it's rather urgent I get the phone sorted.

Just restore your nandroid backup that you made when following the instructions to install CyanogenMod.
Found a little work-around, but if you go into the settings and mount the USB, but don't click mount, your phone will show up as a memory card allowing you to copy any required files.
However, when I copied over the VillainROM-3.0.0-signed to install it and run it I now get the following error.
"E:signature verification failed. Installation aborted."
Any solutions please?

When I try that (and I'm not too sure I created a backup) it says "couldn't open directory, no files found"
Currently downloading GT-I9100_NEE_I9100XWKI4_I9100XXKI2_I9100XXKI1_I9100XWKI4.zip to see if this'll work.
Going through the options, I went to "Fix permissions" I then tried installing the GT-I9100_NEE_I9100XWKI4_I9100XXKI2_I9100XXKI1_I9100XWKI4.zip I downloaded, however it gave me errors.
So I tried the vanilla rom, and it's now installing *something* and it's now said "install from SD card complete."
So, after a few minutes at the dreaded boot/lock screen, I've now got a boot screen for "villiainrom" and it's gone no further.
Good news everyone!
It's now booted and all is well thus far.
gratz! u manage to tame the monster!

Looks like the Problem was, that you were only flashing the stock kernel onto your CM7
so in the end, you had a CM7 rom with a samsung kernel (wich obviously doesen't work)

Exactly!
You must flash FULL firmware (with PDA
Code:
, Phone [modem] and CSC), not only kernel... Next time RTFM first. ;) Cheers!

Rooting woes

So, I was attempting to root my Sprint Galaxy s3, using the CF-root 6.3 via Odin v1.85. All was going well, then just before the big finale, Odin crashes. Now my firmware is messed up on my new phone. I can get back into Downloading... mode, but if I try to re-flash with cf-root, I get this in Odin:
<ID:0/006> File analysis..
<ID:0/006> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/006> Initialzation..
<ID:0/006> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/006> Firmware update start..

<ID:0/006> cache.img
<ID:0/006>
<ID:0/006> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
And this on the phone:
Unsupport dev_type.
And when I reboot:
Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.
Is my phone bricked? How can I undo this?
Thanks.
If this is in the wrong section, I apologize.
Did you try root your US sprint s3 with a method for the international s3?
If so then search because someone made that same mistake last night.
In future don't flash anything for the inter national version on your American version.

I seem to have fixed it. Used Odin to install the clockwork mod, and the phone boots up normally now. Close call.

India Galaxy S2 soft brick while JB OTA firmware update. PLEASE HELP!!

Recently i got a notification for OTA firmware for my I9100G. I guess it was JB update. After the update phone refused to start, it went into boot loop. I am trying to flash the stock rom ICS for India (I9100GXXLPQ_I9100GODDLP7_I9100GDDLP5_HOME.tar.md5) using Odin .
1. Initially I tried to flash custom ICS Kernel (SuperICS_i9100g_v1.0.2.tar) , then tried to wipe cache and wipe data/factory reset and wipe Dalvik cache. It says error mounting /sdcard/android.secure! .
2. After that I tried to flash the Stock firmware mentioned above after going into download mode but Odin fails every time after factoryfs.img or hidden.img

Tried different stock firmwares and custom Kernels for GB,ICS and JB (all for G versions) , different USB ports, different ODIN versions too! Nothing helped
Also I disable Kies everytime while attempting to flash the firmware.
Phone is soft bricked.
Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Sboot.bin is bootloader. You are flashing a firmware with incorrect bootloader or old bootloader should i say.
Is your phone network locked?

If you have sboot.bin fail this happens when you try to downgrade. Just flash stock firmware through odin. Use odin v3.10.6. Of it sticks on Samsung logo it's normal can take up to 20 minutes for first boot
