I have Samsung Galaxy i9000. I have comfused and do this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989&page=1 and now the phone showing the white screen with at&t logo and goes nowhere! Omg.....what i must do now to ge the phone working again? I didn't see that is for the captivate only! Help me pls, i'm desperate! What i must do to get the phone work again?????
You probably have to SBF and start over from scratch...did you have any nandroid backups? Are you on custom rom?
I don't have any backup (if you mean my files i have save them on pc before the problem). And i was rooted, and i have remove the root, but in about phone was said:
Filmware version: 2.2.1
Baseband version: I9000XXJPY
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1
Build number: FROYO.XWJS8
And now i have done this i said in the start and i have problem. What is the SBF? You can explain me please what i must do? Thanks.
Basically you have to do a HARD RESET and reinstall android OS, im coming from motorola phones and when they get locked up that bad you have to do a hard reset then reinstall the android OS im not sure how it works on samsung have you tried over in the samsung forums? Have you tried doing a hard reset?
No! I don't know how to do it. You can explain me please? Even if i think that will not work (because the download mode is not working!)
Check these links out on how to do a hard reset basically you power the phone up holding a certain combination of power and volume buttons attached are links to a guide and video of how to do it...give that a try and let me know if that helps....basically its a factory reset so all info is lost...i think that link you tried above in your post is not for your device.
Try These...

I have tried my friend, but i can't move on to the second step, because the same white screen with logo at&t appears and is flashing...I can't escape from this screen..
even if you remove the battery? Can you get it to shut-off?
I have tried remove the battery, connect it to pc and do the step but is not showing nothing!
Take out the battery, leave it out for 30sec, reinsert it and hold the [vol+]+[home]+[power] untill the first bootscreen apears. Then you are in recovery mode and can perform a wipe/factory reset.
If this does not bring up your device you need to download odin, and a firmware rom, boot your device with [vol-]+[home]+[power] (dont connect to pc until odin is set up and ready to flash) this brings you to download mode then select the firmware image in odin as pda (most likely you need to unzip first, the firmware is called xxjvt...tar) close all kies related stuff in taskmanager, now connect your phone to pc and wait for odin to show 'added' in console box. Now click start, wait for your device to reboot. Done.

have you ever been able to enter recovery using that 3 button combo? there are devices that have those disabled. in that case a usb jig is the only help.
after getting it going i highly recommend to enable the 3bc with a different bootloader, there is also info in the GalaxyS Subforum.
Ok. My only hope is Jig now. I hope will work and for me.
Jig after very one and half week came! I have done all and it's all ok now. Thanks for the help buddies!

This is partially right...
what you want to do is the following (i would set up links but I'm at work so i'll be quick, just go to the Vibrant Directory and look for the correct links)
This happened to me also so i feel you pain. Hopefully, you'll have a Vibrant that isn't hardware locked because if you do it will make things a little harder.
anyway, this was my solution with my old harware locked phone (i had it switched to make my life easierr =] )
1.you'll want to use the NEWEST version of Odin which is V3 or something to that extent.
2. download Eugene373's Froyo that does not brick. Follow the steps in the thread and install the ROM correctly. Once, you've installed make sure to turn on USB Debugging [this is crucial for HW locked phones because it leaves ADB as your only option for getting into download mode (i hope you know how to use ADB)]
3. once you have froyo set up and debugging mode download the Stock Odin ROM and set up Odin.
4. If you have a HW Locked device the easiet way on to DL mode is through ADB. if you have ADB just go to CMD and enter "adb reboot download" the other option is a little trickier and it's not perfect but it's worked for me.
1.take out you battery.
2.connect usb cable.
3.hold down volume +, volume -, and power.
4.insert battery PS. if you have ny trouble with that try waiting till the Vibrant screen comes up and then release power button.
5. once in DL mode load up the stock ROM through ODIN and you are done. no more Black Screen of Death.
Hope it helps, if it doesn't message me and I can try and be a little more detailed. It helped me when I soft bricked my Vibrant.
Hi!
I was updating my Ace from 2.3.4 to 2.3.5. So i hit start in Odin and after 3 seconds it says FAILED; partition size is too big. The phone was still in download mod and i could not turn it off, so i removed the battery. Now when i turn up the phone it shows this image. The image shows a phone and a PC connecting with a yellow triangle warning sign between them. I can go in download mode, but not in recovery mode.
Can someone help me?
Try Re-Flashing again! make sure that everything is where it´s suposed to be!
It might be possible that the 2.3.5 version of the firmware was corrupted. Dont try and flash it again. Download again it from a legit source and then try to reflash.
I was using the old Odin version, so i downloaded the new one (v4.18), re-flashed it and made a factory reset and everything works now.
Thanks!
Hello folks,
I've a friend who's not a Technical person, however, he tried what he shouldn't have and now he has a totally dead S2.
The problems:
1. Phone doesn't switch on, nor does it goes to download or recovery mode - I tried it all.
2. When I connect a charger or usb - It does start showing the battery icon and while connected to the cable, if I turn it on it stays at the Samsung logo forever.
3. Since I don't know how to even get it to download mode, I'm unable to go any further.
What he did:
1. Trying to upgrade to JB, I think he messed up with the kernel by uploading one which may not be compatible as I've heard S2 has different variants. (He loaded Siyah 4.2)
2. Before doing this, he had connected to ODIN and was trying to load the official JB file but it always got stuck on one of the steps and that's when his phone got a bit sick - it would show "Please connect to KIES and try a recovery" kind of message. And this led him to do Step 1, which he shouldn't have.
I read a lot of posts, tried a lot of things but the phone never goes to download mode. And I've no clue how to try anything else?
So experts, I need your help here and I want to know if this phone will start at all? Can we somehow get it to work? If not at home, can the people at Samsung flash it or something?
Please help. Lots of thanks already!

if u have any mini usb cable cut it and peel of the skin and short the the 4th and 5th pin with 300k resistor or 100k*3 resistor and connect to mobile u will directly goto the download mode remove this pin and connect pc in odin mode and flash first with ics rom and if it is success and then try jelly bean try good luck
I have the same problem.
Today i tried fixing a bricked galaxy s2(yellow triangle with exclamation mark on boot) by reinstalling the stock firmware with odin and a pit file.
During the install i got stuck at NAND write start. So i took the battery out to get out of download mode and put it back in.When i tried going to download mode,it wouldn't start, charge, boot, anything!it's like it's completly dead.
Is there any other way to go to download mode without using a JIG?

Sorry to say this mate......you shoulda read some threads.....
If you had, you'd have realised.....
1) you start messing with pit files as a LAST resort
2) you NEVER pull a battery during an odin flash
3) when you saw the failure of 'nand write start' there was still the possibility to recover your phone....right up to the point when you pulled the battery.......
So now you have no recovery mode, no download mode and no on screen indication when you plug the charger in.....
Don't bother with the jig.....it's a long shot under the best of circumstances.....
There Is one thing you could try.....
Take the battery out. Press the vol down, power and home keys simultaneously......and WHILE holding the keys.....reinsert the battery....you will probably need help to do it.
It *might* kickstart the phone into download mode.....or.......it might not.
If it fails.....then Samsung warranty repair is realistically your only option.....Don't mention XDA or rooting or custom roms or odin or anything like that. Play dumb....say you were updating with kies, the phone switched off and wouldn't turn on again.......

Thanks again!

Thanks for you answer! Will a JTAG work?If i can find one?The phone is off the warranty.
The way I see it is that at the moment, you own a paperweight.....so best to *try* the cheaper options first....jtagging being the cheapest......
If that doesn't sort it....you have 2 options.....
1) replace the mainboard
2) buy an entirely new phone.....
Basically whichever option you choose from now on will have *some* financial cost........

A 3rd option is to buy a 2nd hand phone with maybe a cracked screen, and use the board from that.

Hello,
I have a S3 which is stuck in a bootloop at the samsung logo.
when i turn it on it shows the logo for some seconds then the screen goes black and the logo re-appears.
i can not boot into recovery mode, but download mode is working without a problem every time.
i tried flashing stock firmwares with odin and also tried kies emergency firmware recovery. the flashing always went without any problem, but it had effect. whatever i try, i am never able to boot into recovery and still stuck in the bootloop.
in some tries after flashing the screen just shows the samsung logo forever, but after rebooting it once it then is stuck in a bootloop again (shows the logo - screen goes black - shows the logo...)
i also tried flashing TWRP and CWM via odin, but again i can never boot into recovery mode.
what should i try next?
thx alot for any helpful comment

You can Try this:
1.) Pull out battery
2.) Put it in again
3.) Press Vol up + home + power
4.) When the Samsung Logo appears let it off
I think you press the Buttons too long.

i really tried everything, it's not working. btw with i am stuck at the very first image, where it says "samsung Galaxy sII GT-I9300".
i dont think it's just the way i press the buttons because i can reach it on my s1 and s2 without a problem, it's just not working on this device.
could some setting like "nand erase all" in odin help? in other threads there is sometimes mentioned that the internal file system might be screwed up and in those cases a simple odin reflash does not help anymore...
Nand erase will usually hard brick it. Try the rescue firmware from general forum, sticky thread. Follow the guide exactly as it includes a pit file.

thx, but i already did that (multiple times) and flashing via odin always succeeds. then the phone reboots and is stuck at the first samsung galaxy s.. screen. twice i managed somehow to get into recovery (after flashing cwm6) but it then randomly rebooted.
and i dont think that the power button is stuck because when i am in download mode it is perfectly fine it never reboots itself unexpectedly.
Had a similar issue on my tab2 p3100. It all happened when I tried flashing a custom recovery from rom manager.
A bad flash of anything related to recovery or bootloader could be a probable cause.
I remember a knowledge share on one of the threads describing this issue and as mentioned on it all I had to do is this:
1) switch off the device and plug in the charger. This would light up the display showing you the charging status. The status has to show if at least your bootloader part of the phone is fine.
2) plug out the charger and immediately press the three buttons (home + vol up + power) get into recovery mode. This step has to work and help you get to recovery mode.
***Note : the interval within which this step has to be performed is too short since the display would turn off immediately as soon as you plug out the charger. A bit tricky too so you have to be fast. If this misses getting you into recovery, pull out the battery and put it back again. Repeat step1 and 2 again.
3) upon successfully getting into recovery, perform wipe data, cache and select reboot phone from option available on recovery again.
Allow the device to boot. This could take a while since you have performed a data wipe and may prompt for first time set up.
I was able to restore functionality on my tab after these steps and like ppl learn from their mistakes, I then learnt that recoveries and bootloaders are things that needs to be done with a pc only.
Worth a try if you have tried other alternatives and found no go. may help. Who knows..
all the best.
thats also not working. i tried to get into recovery since two days now...
i also tried the steps from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/solved-pit-bricked-dead-problem-gt-t2535367
but again, after i flash the cf-root (successfully) the phone does neither boot into recovery by itself nor can i do it by hand...
its crazy... in download mode i can see the model number (GT-I9300) and i thought as long as the model number is there and i can enter download mode there should be a way to recover the device.
but i cannot think of anything to try that i have not done yet
If the rescue firmware didn't help then it looks like the emmc chip is damaged.

is there a way to make certain of this? how can i tell if it is really a hardware damage and not just a software brick?
i just dont want to let the phone go, it looks still so shiny
is there anything else that could cause the phone not booting into recovery mode after flashing custom recoveries?

Same here, still didn't found how to fix it.. I guess our motherboard just died..
Howewer I have a solution that "almost" worked for me.
Get a stock firmware in odin and turn on Nand erase and T-flash
When it's done phone reboots and you'll see just "Downloading..." mode when you turn it on.
Then got to Kies and Select firmware recovery...
Enter s/n and model name and wait for the flash to complete.
With it , I got past boot logo and actually booted into android but the phone crashed because I guess I have a memory issue..
Well , gl. If you don't find anything else helpful , try going with this method..

Status:

Tried endless guides and instructions with stock ROM's and firmwares. Some of them installed some didnt - none worked. Still in endless loop.
Gave up yesterday and went to bed to keep trying today.
Now its totally bricked.

The only sign of life - whatever I do it has black screen with backlight on but nothing else.
What can I do? They say that a broken phone is only with hardware problems but could I have f**** up the software so much that its the same?

You can try this guide by @SuperMini to force open Download Mode from odin. Here is the link,
How to unbrick Samsung Galaxy Ace
Make sure to use the key combination of Download Mode for your device as the one mentioned in the guide is for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830. If that doesn't work, then you can try the USB Jig (not always guaranteed to work). If USB Jig did work, then it will force open the Download Mode so you can flash stock rom back using odin. If USB Jig doesn't work either, then your last option is to consult the Service Center. Do post the result. Hope I Helped

1. make sure you have installed drivers on your computer
2. remove battery > connect phone to computer > press volume buttons and lock key
3. if you get a black screen just press the volume up button.
odin will recognize the device
if this does not work then try multi-formatter
using it, format rfs partition and then install some custom rom.
