I second this, though you have to look at what you want out of the rom and go from there.

UnNamed or Serendipidy 8 are the two top from my opinion only. UnNamed support is still ongoing and continues to be improved and tweaked. Serendipidy 8.2 is the last version and the developer has moved on. I have tried both and they are both very similar and either is a great choice.
Try em all.. find out which one YOU like. After all, there is no best, only favorite flavors

The best rom for people that dont read the rules or try roms for themselves is the stock rom.

I'm getting my phone soon. I hope (I'm begging) I get to see a MIUI rom for this phone. Don't YOU like MIUI?
Don't worry, now that the iPhone announcement is such a letdown AT&T will sell millions of these phones. In a few months you will have more ROMs then you can handle.

Awesome. Thanks!
I posted a work around around for now.
Basically flash international ROM then flash ATT kernel and modem. Everything works but wifi, Bluetooth and home button.

I presume you meant Galaxy Nexus
Do you have a prefernce between touchwiz and google android? If you prefer the look and feel of the latter (e.g. CM9 look), go for the gnex, otherwise i'd go for the S2

Your much better off trying to port the skyrocket cm9. The hardware is way more similar than the int note.

Thanks everybody for the good advice/ replies and I think that i will try better porting from the skyrocket, until we recieve an unofficial cm9 from a better experienced dev.

So my friend has a Telus Fascinate and after using her phone briefly I decided she really could use a custom ROM for improved performance and to remove bloat. She doesn't own a computer and uses her phone in place of one. I am familiar with rooting, recovery and flashing custom ROMs. I've got a few questions and preferences:
I'm looking for something that will boost performance and remove bloat.
I need it to be incredibly stable as I will be flashing it and then it will be out of hands.
It doesn't matter if it's TouchWiz or not. I would prefer ICS if possible.
I've spent a bit of time lurking here but I don't think I have the time to completely educate myself on a phone I will have in possession for a few hours at most.
Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide, I really appreciate it!

I don't mind being on call for problems. She lives super close to me and I've given her my old Xperia Play as a temp phone because I need a USB Jig to get into download mode which I had to order. I just want something simple and stable enough for everyday use so I can minimize my involvement.

@Havoced, did you manage to get AOKP running on Fascinate 4G? Please let me know, thanks !
Hi, I am having trouble deciding on which phone to buy. I can get the S2 for 60 dollars cheaper. I am just wondering what are your thoughts ? I know there are threads like this already, but I just want some opinions. Thanks alot guys !
S2 is better. There was similar thread in Q&A why, maybe you'll find it

Well, the only difference between the two would probably be the HD screen and the camera. The Nexus is probably more future proof though. In your opinion, what would you go for?
Go for S2 or S3 if you like big screen ..cheers

You know, I also had to make decision - S2, Nexus, S2, Nexus... and I choosed S2.
Nexus has no microSD slot, which is important to me.
I'm using CyanogenMod as a daily ROM, then I don't need official updates so much.
But, that's only my opinion.
Go for Nexus.

Any advantages?
My personal opinion would be the Galaxy Nexus, because it's going to get updates for years. The S2 is already a bit forgotten by Samsung in my opinion. The Nexus is pure Android without any other companies making their own "version". Remember that this is all my personal opinion.
