Anyone figured out how to remove that annoying Internet browser window for VCAST Media Manager on the Rezound yet?
I've already tried
1. Open the phone app.
2. Dial ##7764726 and tap Call.
3. Enter the SPC password of 000000 (six zeros) and tap Verify.
4. Tap Feature Settings.
5. Select CD-ROM.
6. Select Disable.
7. Press Menu and commit modifications.

which worked on my Incredible - but there's no CD-ROM option on the Rezound
Probably need root to remove it if it can be removed.

You could download Titanium Backup, get Temp Root, and then Freeze the app while rooted.

Vcast Media Manager. In case everybody hasn't run across it, here's a link that talks about which apps can be frozen:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1352618
I froze all three VCAST apps the other day - and I still get the webpage pop when I connect it to my PC

Root Uninstaller is free and also can freeze apps.
Death to bloatware!
Change your settings in the USB menu when you plug in the phone. Set to Mass Storage or Charge only and you will be good to go.

Did you install the full package from HTC, not just the drivers? There should be an icon in your tray if you expand it, right click it and set to do nothing. (This was how it was for Moto phones)
I am on Windows 8, so I can't install the drivers to verify that it actually is true with HTC also.
nope - I didn't install any VCAST software, there's no icon in the tray
this is the same thing the Incredible used to do but the steps in the OP fixed that...
it's rather annoying to have this pop every time I plug my phone in to the computer..
am I the only one who has this problem?
*sadpanda*
There is no HTC icon down there? My X1 and X2 had a MotoLauncher or some BS like that, that came up when you plugged in the phone and VCast would pop up in Chrome. Just right clicked and hit "do nothing". I don't have drivers for Windows 8 so when I plug in my phone all I get is mass storage.
Same thing is happening to me. It's strange b/c I don't get the webpage pop-up on my work laptop but I get it on my home computer. Very annoying!
PS - I've tried setting my USB to Charge only and Disk Mode, both yield the same results.

wow, this is exactly what i wanted. a dock at the bottom and not on the side of the phone. nice find.
Does it have all the great options launcher pro has...like changing the number of columns and rows, transition effects, swipe an icon for different shortcut?
Yes it does. Actually its Adw Launcher optimized for tablets.
Only thing I miss is launcher pro widgets. Otherwise it's perfect.
Nice find thanks
Finally a permanent dock on the bottom! Can you lock it in landscape mode? That is currently how I have my streak set. Thanks

Dude, clear your default launcher first from manage applications and try again. If still doesnt work, maybe you got too many launchers install. Delete the ones that you dont use, and try again. Also make sure that you tick install apps from unknown sources too on manage apps. Works for me.

I keep getting a phone not found error.
The phone is set to USB Debugging enabled.
USB storage is disabled.
In My Computer I show a Removable Disk but when you click on it a message comes up saying to connect a device. I expect this though, because the card is not set to be used as external storage.
In Device Manager I have "Android Phone" with a subset "Android Composite ADB Interface". Odd thing here is that before Windows loaded drivers, it was calling it a Streak.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I'm using the "Sideload Wonder Machine".
Is there another easy way for a newb to load this package?
Edit: Correction: Is there any easy way for a newb to load this package?

Your doing way too complicated dude.On your streak browser just go this link
http://vegantab.gojimi.com/download/Launcher_1_5.apk . It should download it as apk file, dont have to change anything. You should be able to install it from your file manager (Astro File manager recommended). Clear your default launcher if it fails to install.

I'm guessing you can't mix this with Launcher Pro? One or the other, right?
No mix. By the way, I found Colorize Widget free witch is similar to Launcher Pro Plus widgets. So I'm realy happy now even without LPro.
Has anyone figured out how to do the custom function icons yet? I saw something about making things like an icon that dials a predetermined number for you. 90% of my calls are to my wife. Having an icon that calls her cell with one touch would be awesome.

I used to run SPB Mobile Shell for an old Winmo phone. Can you tell if SPB 3D slows down your dell? Or notice any sluggishness?
All of a sudden I cannot get Google Now to work. When I try to use the widget it just says to check the network connection. This happens both on 4G and wifi. Also, when I long press the home button all that happens is the old standard search screen comes up but no Google Now cards show up. I am on complete stock which I reverted to in hopes of fixing the issue. Anyone else have this issue?
I have the same issue. It just started for me after updating to the LP 23A update. I reverted back and restored my 12B backup and still the same issue. Tried toggelin data on and off wipe cache in recovery, singing out of Google and uninstalling Google Now.
None of this worked for me, and I'm at a loss as to how to fix. Been Google searching how to fix (irony), to no avail.
I just noticed today that my Cards weren't working. Google just put out an update to "Google" on the 26th. I'm not sure if that's what caused the issue or not.

I found a post on a motoX forum about it and followed some steps that someone else said resolved their issue.
- Open Google via the app or click your Google search bar.
- Long press your APPS button (next to your home button at the bottom) to bring up the settings in Google.
- When settings opens, select NOW CARDS.
- When next screen opens select DELETE CARD PREFERENCES and select DELETE in next window that pops up.
- This will log you out of Google and return you to the NOW CARDS settings page.
- Click the SHOW CARDS on/off toggle at the top of the screen to turn it ON.
- Click where is says "sign in" under MANAGE CARD HISTORY.
That's it. You should be done and cards should be working again.
Worked for me. Good luck.

Unfortunately the toggle button for the google now cards is grayed out and the network connection error is next to it
So I think I found a solution. This worked for me, so I hope it helps.
1. Open Now and go to settings
2. Click On Cards, then Delete card preference
3. Click on Manage card history, this will open a browser setting, then I deleted the entire history
4. Network error want away and I could toggle on card.
5. Blamo.
Sorry I see the same remidy was posted.
I got this resolved. I had to flash all the way back to version 10b

There are a few apps I need to start after a reboot. Apparently none of them are. Is there a setting somewhere in the mess of settings that I just can't find? The apps have their internal "start at boot" but they just don't.
The last straw was when I installed Tasker to start the 2 or 3 apps at boot, but guess what....Tasker doesn't start either!
What is going on? Apparently prior versions of Huawei android had it, at least in a convoluted way as seen in this thread here.
I found the setting for Power Intensive apps like in that thread, but it doesn't list any apps. Adding the app to Protected Apps doesn't allow it either.
It drives me crazy. Also, apps with accessibility/notifications access enabled keep getting disabled. Oh, and if you swipe an app with persistent notifications away from the recent apps list the notification goes away too, defeating the purpose of persistent notifications.
The update we have is a "Lollipop preview" and is supposed to be updated again in the future. Huawei messed this up again somehow.
Probably stupid question, but have you allowed these apps in startup manager?

I don't have that either.
Wonder if it's an app that can be pulled? Check for us please @Kostyan_nsk
Well, seems like Startup manager is a part of Phone manager app. Check, do you have such or not? If you do, then select Permission manager and then Startup manager at the top.
Btw, do you have Permisssion manager in your settings list? Because Startup manager can be accessed from there either.
We have the phone manager, but it doesn't have permission manager or startup manager. Would you mind posting the apk and odex for Phone Manager and I'll see if it works? I doubt it will.
Edit: I managed to get it from a random emui 3.0 rom I found, didn't work. App just crashes like I expected it to.

Hello guys,
I hope that my thread is started in the right sub-forum. I recently bought a Huawei Mate 10 Pro (android 8.0) and immediately started looking for ways to flash a stock android rom (lineage, RR etc.). Because I haven't used an android phone since android 6.0 I had to look for all the instructions on how to install such ROM.
At first everything was going well, but I'm currently stuck on connecting my phone to my laptop (Asus n56vz). Everytime I try to connect it via Hisuite it says: "because an app is obscuring a permissions request, Settings can't verify your responses." I added a screenshot for clarification even though it's in Dutch:

I had the same problem. Trying to give permission to HiSuite(my phone is Huawei p8 lite) the "Because an app is obscuring a permission request, Settings can't verify your response" popped up. I tried revoking permissions to draw over other apps to every single one of the apps, one by one, even system's apps and nothing worked.
Though, by closing all the other apps in app history worked like magic. Simple as that.. ^_^

Real shame that dev support or really much users for this phone is so slim. It's such a good phone.
Anyway, I think it's another real shame that it's extremely difficult for me to find a way to remap this dedicated Assistant button on this phone. There's so many other ways in which to summon GA that I don't need that button to do it. I can be used for so much else.
Samsung folks have that awesome dev to remap their Bixby button. I wish someone could do the same here. There's clearly no root method for the LG V60 so there has to be another way to do this. Something that doesn't involve the skills of an Android developer.
