Camera LED as flashlight - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hi folks, I got a Razr yesterday and am now trying to find an app that lets me use the camera LED as a flashlight. All the apps I've tried simply don't switch it on, however they worked fine on the SGSII.
Anyone who would be so kind to point me to a working application for this?
Thank you

Try tiny flashlight + led

Ive been using it on all my Android phones for the past two year
Has a great widget as well
Only thing is that theres about a second delay before it turns on

Motorola Droid light. It's free in the market.

Thank you both, it's working. I'm using droid light now.
Strange, that powercontrol plus as well as the other apps I've tried, cannot switch on the light

I use Elixir, but for it to work I had to install Tesla Led first.

I second Droid Light. Works like a boss.

Well, my boss isn't working at all

Tesla LED on its own works just fine for me

Tiny flashlight is the best. I use it all the time.

Droid Light doesn't work for me, Tiny Flashlight doesn't work for me either

Brightest Flashlight Free is nice. You can use the LED, screen, or both. Can set a timer and it has a sweet startup/shutdown sound(you can disable). Works great on my Razr.

What are you doing differently? Both of these apps work on the stock razr rom. Are you using the Verizon Droid Razr or the Motorola Razr? Are you on any of the GSM version roms or have you done anything drastic to your setup? What happens when you try to use them? I'm on the Verizon Razr & Motorola Droid Light works perfectly for me.

Using droidlight. Does what it needs to do. And has only camera permissions unlike the others.

Brightest flashlight works great for me.

Wigetsoid would do the trick, plus you can customize a set of widgets that you can use

Would be interesting to see how well it works.
You can get swype currently from their site, if you miss swipe, has a couple bugs on TB but works fairly well.

Im still using swype but it bugs me that I have to use handscent to get the auto caps and auto spacing to work for texting.
Maybe htc purposely built their messaging app this way so people wouldnt want swype and would look for an alternative?
HTC phones are also the only phones you need to switch swype off then reselect it to get it to work after a reboot.
FlexT9 works perfect in the mean time. Seems to do the same stuff, but FlexT9 has handwriting recognition + swype + voice input + QWERTY + Compact QWERTY.

Nope, Swype did that on the OG Droid as well. Was one of the reasons I stopped using it. Using Flex T9 now and loving it.
I've been playing with that on the doubleshot port. It's cool.

Would there be any way to port just this mod to the Thunderbolt? I'm using a modded version of Swype that works great but I think this would be even better.

Cool I found the flex t9 version here is the link. Works great so far...

Depending on the rom this would happen on a d1 I know it would happen with miui but not on cm6

[Q] Best Torch App

I've tried several torch apps and I am currently using the tiny flashlight with the widget. On the incredible all of the torch apps worked well and the widgets worked instantaneously. On my X2 I've had several of the apps cause reboots and while the tiny flashlight widget works it takes about 5 seconds to kick in. Any recommendatins on apps or settings would be much appreciated. I'm rooted, supercharged, and I've frozen the bloat. I had theses issues before root and on every x2 I've used (7 of them).
Tiny flashlight has been updated to address the X2 problems. Thanks to member juhde for letting us know about the update. I can finally rest easy again.

That was my first choice and I had issues with it before I went looking for a new one. I actually haven't tried since I did all of the recent tweaks. Does it work without any lag on your x2?
tesla locked up upon first use & quit responding, but now works, but lags like the other I tried
I just open the Camcorder app and turn the light to on. It works flawlessly.

Yeah, that works, but its not very convenient or fast. I live in the sticks and its pitch black at night out here. Its nice being able to unlock and hit a button to get a light quickly when you here something crashing through the woods. Prob just have to wait for ginger or cm7 to fix the problem.

It's not really a widget, but since the light comes on right away, its the quickest light I've seen so far. I'll stick with this one till ginger comes out thanks.
Nexus torch. Great app that also has a widget for one click flash on your home screen.

No luck. Runs about the same as the rest. Doesn't see my root for the high brightness either. Wonder what's up with that. Sticking with the Motorola one for now.

Well I don't even use the camcorder, so I just keep the light setting to on all the time. Then I keep the shortcut on my main homescreen, so all I gotta do is click it, and bam, glorious light. (I also live in the sticks..)
Tiny flashlight just had a update specifically addressing the x2 problems. Works a treat now.

hmm, still a bit slow for me, I like that Tesla has a toggle switch widget, much more convenient.
ok, I installed the TeslaLED Beta
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133393
and its the best one yet, much snappier than the alpha release or tiny flashlight
plus a toggle switch!
Not to shabby.

[Q] Disable capacitive light buttons?

Hello
I am wondering if there is an app to disable capacitive light buttons? I am rooted 2.3.6 stock. Pretty annoying when watching a movie at night and they are still on.

No one?
I would like to do this also.
o rly no one knows?
try keyboard backlight controller
will try that program...thanks.
.....
Update: seems to work until you touch the screen/buttons. Touching the screen or buttons activates the backlight.
Thanks.
Try screen filter. I use it for night mode but it will kill the lights too

Turning off 4G?

I was wondering 4G sometimes likes to not work sometimes. And I wanted to know if there was a way to turn ON 3G.
I am on a rooted Ics on the 214 kernel.

I know it works on stock ICS- no experience with Roms yet, though.
Some say you can download the Thunderbolt's 4G toggle app and that works fine.
Others, who want a native solution, dial *#*#4636#*#* which brings up some phone 'Testing' screen - click Phone Information - about halfway down that screen, change lte/cdma/evdo to cdma auto (prl)..
That's what I was told to do and have changed it back and forth with no I'll effects (that I can notice anyway haha)..
Hope this helps..
Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
If you download LTE OnOFF (click here to go to Play Store) you can get to the screen without using the dialer combination
You can enter the number into a phone contact and then add a quick dial widget to the home screen.
Works just the same for those who don't want to go 3rd party if they don't have to.

LED control

Any apps that are compatible with N2 for having control over what the LED shows with certain notifications?

Light flow gave me talk back issues. I hated this. I use light manager. No talk back and as far as I can tell it works perfect:
1. Lights are correct. (Blue is blue, red is red)
2. Light blinking is spot on. 1 second is 1 second, 2 seconds is 2 seconds and so on.
3. Again, no talk back issues
4. If you are rooted it has the option to add 3rd party apps.
One thing it doesn't do as far as I can tell is keep the light on when the screen is on. I hated this at first but to tell you the truth I really have gotten used to it, and I think I prefer this.
Just my 2 cents

Relatedly, is there a list somewhere of all the colors the LED is capable of (or is it capable of any color)? A Google search was unhelpful for me. Coming from a Thunderbolt with a orange/green notification light I'm hoping for something better.

Lightflow currently has issues with the phone and using it will force you to disable the Air Hover feature with the S-Pen.
I also had issues with the LED staying on after reading text messages. Bummer because I LOVED the program for my Nexus and bought the pro version.
I'll give light manager a try.. thanks!

I'm rooted as well. I installed and lost all Swipe functionality and every time I rebooted the phone acted as if I was using for the first time (help pop-ups).

The note 2 has red, green, and blue lights. It will make any color using those. My suggestion is to download light manager and test to see what I am talking about.
