Hi everybody.
I have little suggestion, Ace actually have a very good battery life in standby mode, even you turn on mobile data all the time.
The problem is, if you using the browser to surf the internet with 3G around 3-5 minutes, battery will drop down quickly (10-20%)
I think it because our baseband/modem too much using the resources..and THAT will be not happen if you use WI-FI, right?
So, how about we build a modded baseband, to be have low resources as low as possible. Then we can have normally 2 days usage phone!
I think it's a better way than undervolt since that really dangerous. Plus, Galaxy S has been build it, you can see on their development thread.
BTW, I'm not good enough about 'dev' stuff. So thats why I can just suggestion it.

I keep my fone for charging at night & disconnects in d morning. After i disconnect, i check facebook & xda app. Within 2 mins my battery goes from 100% to 91%. Im on 3G. If i switch off background data sync & 3g, i get almost 1½ day battery life. Wit 3g & background data i hardly get 7 hrs. So now, i switch 3g only wen m browsing. Background data is off & i get 12-16hrs battery.

Sorry for posting this here but I'm not allowed to post in developer forums yet.
I'm using milk's rom beta 6.5, everyone says it has a great battery life on the official forum. I've tried clean install, used franco's tweaks, wiped battery stats but still I have a huge battery drain. Voice calls, phone idle and standby states consume a very high amount of power.
What could be the problem?

CM7 Battery Drain
Do you leave the data, GPS & Wi-Fi on? Just switch it off if you are not using it.
Adjust the display brightness to the lowest.
In the mobile network settings, click use only 2G networks.
Uncheck background data & auto-sync in accounts & sync settings if you are not going to access the Market or you don't need to constantly sync your accounts.
Do you play a lot of games?
A lot of factors contribute to battery drain.
Everything except background data is disabled when not in use. I don't use the phone a lot. The irritating thing is battery drain in idle mode, standby mode n voice calls. Wifi uses very little battery when on. I thought it could be that my radio is using a lot of battery to catch signal but this was not the case with earlier versions of the rom n I haven't changed my location.

after heavy use it last 1 day and moderate 1.5 day which is not bad though not using franco tweaks idle mode might show 50%< but it last for the time i mention just go into settings and disable google service, market, dsp manager when not in use
I always do that. Still it drains battery when idle.

Do you have the bug with the status bar, who is running in the background when you charge the phone?? It is loading the cpu but don't know why, I have the cm7 2.3.4 - 6.5 for one week and I still didn't manage to see the batery drainage sorry for bad english, hope you understand.
No bugs that I know of.

I've been using mik's cm7 for some days now, but don't see any severe battery drain. On idling (no data connection), it's pulling about 1% per hour. Not as good as the stock ROM, but I can live with it.

If the stock ROM battery drain was <1%/hr then 1%/hr is, quantitatively, "not as good".
I run wifi on when available (Tasker), no mobile data (prepaid), GPS on when needed (Tasker), and BT on all the time. Here are the idle drain stats I got with the stock 2.2 ROM:
Stock ROM out of the box: 3.3% / hr.
Stock ROM with SetCPU OnDemand underclocking: 0.8% / hr
Same apps, config, and use as above:
Mik stable ROM: 6.8% / hr
Mik stable ROM, BT off: 4% / hr
I also tried testing with SetCPU onDemand profile for underclocking, but the numbers varied 2-8% / hr with no apparent pattern. I am not convinced that SetCPU will be helpful in this setup.

You forgot, that the xda developers often aren't "really developers" but users with some or more experience of how to grogramming a language like C,C++ or Java and with some knowledge of how to do some things more with a smartphone.
this is the choice for us - we can wait for a manufacturer to deploy new software for us, or we help our self. and there for, that we help us self - the quality and quantity of most roms here @xda is very good i think, so many people here should say "it doesnt matter" instead of cry in many threads "help me, i cant play with this device as a playstation" or "help me, i must recharge my battery after 1,5 days".
sorry for that words, but its my opinion.
It's like: dial xda for customer care.

secondly I'm using mik_os's ROM 6.5 and I saw this battery draining issue happening after charging - they know it's a bug in CM7 now and will get fixed
So at the momment this is what I do after 100% charge - reboot the phone
Some guy in development area said that he restarts some application that deals with notofication bar - probably the ADW but for me it easiest to reboot phone and put in my pocket
Hope it helps
What have you encountered as your maximum battery life?
If the figure is hmmm too much, tell us what you used!
what do you mean? maximum standby time or usage? is it the milivolt? please elaborate
Around 1½ day i believe. But normally ill charge it at night where it has around 20-30% left
edit:
Usage: Music(+DSP), SMS, a few calls, Web browsing (2G/3G/Wifi). Dont really play any games but I do watch musicvideos sometimes which is takes around 15minutes.

Lmfao yeah that happens. But you can get Power Saver form the market. It really works. What it does is clock down the processor depending on what profile you set the app to.
Even though, today I haven't used the phone much and it's been discharging from 16 hrs and it's still at 60% (with Power Saver turned off). I've only used it for light texting today and that's it. 3G is what sucks the battery dry. Sometimes I use Edge only (2G) and the battery lasts me a whole day and more. The other day it lasted me a whole 24 hrs and it was still at about 19% left. I'm guessing the battery can last long or short depending on the usage.

With Juggernaut Rom, brightness turned down and web/wifi off I can literally get like 3 days almost if I'm not texting heavily. As soon as I turn internet on I'd say a max of 12 hours. The best battery life I ever got out of it was BeastMod, CPU underlocked to just 1ghz and brightness turned down. Even with web on, still got me almost 2 days - sync off.

If the phone is hot, the battery is overheated. It cannot be simpler.
If it's not overheated, try another ROM/Kernel and eventually buy a new battery. There are cheap ones on eBay.

well as its winter so need o keep it in fridge rather just open the battery in night and re-insert it in the morning try complete wipe all data, battery, stats and system than after installing a rom try callibirating the battery.
But remember whenever u land into prob calibirting is not good so just do it this time and avoid it as far as possible.I don't want any discussion on callibirating, if any ody says its good just go ahead and calibirate as much as u want.

Set your screen down to lowest brightness you can.
Turn off 3G if you are using it, turn off wifi and GPS when you don't need it.
Clean up your cache using the cache cleaners available on the market, they sometimes work for me.
Try to do this. Charge your phone until on the screen it says 100%. Now power off your phone and again plug it into the charger. In case the phone still shows its charging let it charge. Otherwise you are good to go.
Are you on the OC kernel? People have reported that using a few setting there can help increase battery life.
And yeah, try killing the background apps, ones that you truly don't need!
In the end face it, Ace has a lousy excuse of a battery

No battery can ever be fully charged. Over a period time, if a battery is charged 100% every time it could be damaged. So manufacturers generally limit the level the battery can be charged, around 95%. That's what I have heard.
As far as the above advice was concerned, I have come to notice that the charging sign tends to disappear and the battery shows 100% when charging, but once I turn off the phone and put it back to the charging, it shows that some charging is left to take place and proceeds to charge for some 5-10 mins more. First I thought must be calibrating error, but it was not, happened even after I calibrated.
Try it and see if that's the same case with you.
i had this problem with ice cream sunday 2, but once i flashed cm7.2 by axell it was fine!! i now have a charger at work because i like ice cream sunday tooo much
My cellphone have the same problem, but, instead of being 3 hours, my cellphone works by 5 or 6 hours. I use the CyanogenMod 7.1 Android 2.3.7 and my soluction is turn off all the conection features and when my cellphone stay at sleep mode, I use the EDGE network.
PS: If you can, decrease your brightness when you don't need the full brightness.
Hello sirs, I'm using the ICSunday 2 by Jusada and SlaidFastMod V2. My battery grow up to 8 hours of use, and at sleep, grow up to a day complete without use, and, using 3G. This is the solution.
Install SetCPU and configure it , your battery will last longer .
