Hey guys i know its Sense 3.0 and everything but there had to be a way or mod to flash to remove 3D scrolling. i find it annoying as ****. Carousel is useless and i know nobody uses it lol
Is there anyway to make it go away? Please say yes

Unless you use an alternative launcher,you are stuck with it,,I use GO launcher myself,,works good and is customizable

probably a way, not done yet afaik. Some roms (warm, wtsb 2.0, wildshooter, maybe more) have a tweak to disable the carousel anim (on unlock only - not totally gone) which I find nice. I asked romanBB (the creator of "tweaks") if there was a way to remove it entirely, no resonse cuz he is deving for sgs2 now. It would take a smali genius to figure it out.

Yea i understand that but then its not sense. we actually got a thread going with a couple guys looking through the ROSIE.apk file and see if there is a way to remove it or something. It's gonna take a lot more work then i thought it would

Yeah i started to realize that, i always knew it would be difficult but from what im hearing this is gonna take something like you said "a genius" to crack or figure out.
Hopefully someone can up the task, cause this would be a MAJOR tweak for people and i know im not the only one that dislikes it

I don't know how possible it would be to do,
but I played with some motoblur widgets on my buddy's Cliq, and now I'm jealous (i'm a social networking junkie).
Understanding that MOTOBLUR is still Android 1.5/1.6, is there any way to set up a partial MOTOBLUR integration into a ROM, or a MOTOBLUR skin that includes the widgets (and some program to log in/sign up to Motoblur?).
I found and pushed some .apk files I found around, but without any real idea what I'm doing, it was pretty close to 100% failure (with the exception of actually getting a couple of icons to show up in my app drawer - that's about it).
Is there any other interest in this? And will this be easier once the Cliq and Devour get 2.1?

I really want to see MotoBlur too! Hope you can make a motoblur rom!
if u want the skin theres a ton of ways u can go about it.
from what i kno theres about 4 home replacement apps that offer it.
one that i personally tried is for GDE..its ok,nothing to write home about. Not the skin, just the look..its a bit too kiddy for me.
as far as widgets go, check the hero forums, its been discussed.

Launcherpro plus is working on it
I thought google guaranteed that every existing android device would at least get 2.1? When did this change?

I tried to port 2.2 sense but I'm missing a few drivers and I have a motoblur rom sitting on a hosting site if anyone wants to take a crack at it. The radio on it doesn't work (no cell, wifi, bluetooth) so you can't get past the first screen, but touchscreen, buttons etc. all work. I ported it from a gsm rom.

Where did you get that file? are you sure its for the evo3d? If it's not it could potentially SEVERLY screw up your 3D. So if you are going to do this:
1. NANDROID (and save it on a USB or HDD)
2. Go to root explorer, replace the old phone.apk with this one.
3. restart phone and see if it has taken effect or if the phone will work/dail
4. if not then nandroid back.
Sry I forgot to edit, I meant port this to the the EVO3d. I tried changing it last night but it was a no go. I was hoping if someone could possibly make this work for our phones. Sry bout that.

I could take a shot at it, but that would have to be in a week or when I finish porting over Thyrus to SupraROM
Make sure you're on a deodex ROM if you try this.

The bad news is, that I've tried several ways to change the CallCard.smali and I still haven't reach to a workable phone.apk.
Any help will be very appreciated.
Also tried this method and no luck, anyone have luck getting this to work.
The useless spinning home screen does nothing but annoy me, has anyone messed with removing this before I take the venture into my own hands?

I agree, its silly and offers no utility. I have used an alternative launcher since roughly 2 weeks after purchasing my EVO 4G in June of 2010, and have never gone back to the Sense launcher.
I like the sense launcher but that is the most useless feature they have ever used.

I haven't seen that removed by itself, but there are several ROMs eight now that have an option to disable that in the tweaks menu. I know eternity and warm both have this feature.

only disables it when unlocking the phone..The carousel is still spin crazy between home screen fast swiping
The carousel only spins if u go crazy fingers on it. Keep it cool hot shot.
Seriously I'd like to get rid of that and the rap around. I miss scrolling wallpapers

Sense sucks and is way too bloated on the stock rom
root it and run a custom ROM or run a launcher over sense and see it Sense turns off after time of non use

I've been looking in the ROSIE.apk and SENSE.apk all day long and and found no direct way of disabling it so far. There has got to be a touch swipe/speed minimum trigger somewhere. It looks pretty integrated into the launcher, it may be alot more difficult than originally assumed.

You know it can't be just database modding, right? You have to disassemble the apk. 2 weeks ago I was on the same boat, I baksmali'd the Rosie.apk and searched through a lot of functions to find a comparison (if clause etc) to find the decision whether it should spin or slide. In the end I got lost. The hard part is we don't know the name of the function and there are no strings popping up when spinning to help us get through thousands of line of code. At some point I thought it writes the system log a record starting with DEBUG TimelineAnimation.play only when it spins but that was a deadend too. The closest I could get was to crash Sense when you begin to slide, so if I have more time soon, I might find the responsible function/decision after that point.
I too hate it . I Miss the days from my desire classic wonderful themes moving wallpapers etc..
Were talking about 3D transition effect as well right not just the carousel lol cause im talking about both...
So i have been looking but haven't found anything. does any body know of a way to turn on like a fast boot mode like the htc phones have on the photon? I love this phone but it takes so dang long to boot up. I think something like this would be great for this phone.

From what i understand both of those have broken 4g and i can't deal with that. i am just stock rooted with some various tweaks here and there, but there is no way to steal some files to help stock boot like that. I mean on the htc phones it is a check box in the settings menu. Sorry i am no good at coding and just have no time with work to really take on a project like this. If anybody knows of a way to do it, i would be willing to make a donation, but i need 4g to work.

I don't get it, you have the exact same functionality already with the use of widgets/multiple homescreens and the standard notification bar. You can already cram pretty much anything you want in there - what's the point?

I've tried all posstible lockscreen substitutes there is on my Note3, but no one is even close to the intelliscreenx for the iphone.
I've tried nils, c locker and you name it but sadly they are just useless. I want to configure and actually use that large lockscreen exactly the way I want. This is close to impossible. The intelliscren guys made it right the first time. Can't believe this is not available for android.
