Where did you get that file? are you sure its for the evo3d? If it's not it could potentially SEVERLY screw up your 3D. So if you are going to do this:
1. NANDROID (and save it on a USB or HDD)
2. Go to root explorer, replace the old phone.apk with this one.
3. restart phone and see if it has taken effect or if the phone will work/dail
4. if not then nandroid back.
Sry I forgot to edit, I meant port this to the the EVO3d. I tried changing it last night but it was a no go. I was hoping if someone could possibly make this work for our phones. Sry bout that.

I could take a shot at it, but that would have to be in a week or when I finish porting over Thyrus to SupraROM
Make sure you're on a deodex ROM if you try this.

I've talked with SEO (he was the first to enable the dancing droid) and he told me what to do:

The bad news is, that I've tried several ways to change the CallCard.smali and I still haven't reach to a workable phone.apk.
Any help will be very appreciated.
Also tried this method and no luck, anyone have luck getting this to work.

just wanted to let you guys know that http://www.xda-developers.com/android/call-of-android-boot-animation/ this does work on Cyanogen's CM7 ROM.
I used pushed it to the /system/media and it worked perfectly. I used Android Commander.. .
but i just thought i'd throw it out there.
I flashed this a while back when my buddy wanted me to put it on his evo. It lasted about 3 reboots before I was like....ehh, enuff!! I keep ending up going back to the android zap apple one. Its got such a clean and crisp look to it.

I don't care about boot sounds so i cannot comment on that. I've not done anything to "make it work".
Yeah, no sound on my end, just checking if that is the case for everyone else
can't decide between this one and his HALO Reach one, I did pull the "We Are Android" image out of the HALO one to use as my splash screen. the dude did an awesome job on these. just gotta try and get him to do an AC2 or AC: Brotherhood one now.

haha...Nice!! You almost beat me . Is this the same as the one I linked to, except with sounds? Sounds that dont work on our device? Or does sound work on DHD roms?

yeah it was put up the Dev (I think) and I know the sound works with the DHD and DZ ports.
edit: yeah I knew it was posted with the sound so I was trying to find that one.
kind of funny side note... parked my big rig for the weekend and the wife saw me on the computer and said "can't you do something normal like playing your Assassin's Creed or God of War instead of geeking it up with the phones all the time" lol

You do not flash a bootanimation.zip. You have to place it in the system. Depending on the rom you are running, there are 2 different places you could have to place it

most likely the speed of the animation is to slow. you can try to readjust it or try reflashing it.
How has this not been done yet, Can someone please port it over. it has probably been asked before im sure but this needs to happen.

the resolution is the biggest culprit so you are better off finding a qhd keyboard that looks closest to that

What's with all this fuss over a keyboard?
Just use SwiftKey (it has ALL FOUR of dem arrows), and it's WAY better than the OGVO keyboard in the first place.

Yeah I don't get it either.. I use the stock GB keyboard... in case people weren't aware, if you drag up on the keyboard, arrow keys fill in at the bottom. That's better than the HTC kb if you ask me.

Found this in the Sensation forums, I installed through recovery and got a incorrect model message error. Hopefully someone can help get this working in our EVO 3Ds.

Thanks for helping, I tried flashing through recovery and no luck. I had a error code 6. I wiped cache and dalvic before hand also.

How would someone go about signing it? I have never messed with the whole dev side, just picked up some knowledge here and there along the years since my original HTC Touch.
did u try the other arrows one... have u tried both keyboards.. ( the sensation one,, and the "try this"...

Why not just pull the apk from Tmartins zip and replace the current HTC_IME in /system/app... Then report back?
I will try that tonight after work when I have time to Nandroid just in case.

Hey guys i know its Sense 3.0 and everything but there had to be a way or mod to flash to remove 3D scrolling. i find it annoying as ****. Carousel is useless and i know nobody uses it lol

Unless you use an alternative launcher,you are stuck with it,,I use GO launcher myself,,works good and is customizable

probably a way, not done yet afaik. Some roms (warm, wtsb 2.0, wildshooter, maybe more) have a tweak to disable the carousel anim (on unlock only - not totally gone) which I find nice. I asked romanBB (the creator of "tweaks") if there was a way to remove it entirely, no resonse cuz he is deving for sgs2 now. It would take a smali genius to figure it out.

Yea i understand that but then its not sense. we actually got a thread going with a couple guys looking through the ROSIE.apk file and see if there is a way to remove it or something. It's gonna take a lot more work then i thought it would

Yeah i started to realize that, i always knew it would be difficult but from what im hearing this is gonna take something like you said "a genius" to crack or figure out.
Hopefully someone can up the task, cause this would be a MAJOR tweak for people and i know im not the only one that dislikes it
So i have been looking but haven't found anything. does any body know of a way to turn on like a fast boot mode like the htc phones have on the photon? I love this phone but it takes so dang long to boot up. I think something like this would be great for this phone.

From what i understand both of those have broken 4g and i can't deal with that. i am just stock rooted with some various tweaks here and there, but there is no way to steal some files to help stock boot like that. I mean on the htc phones it is a check box in the settings menu. Sorry i am no good at coding and just have no time with work to really take on a project like this. If anybody knows of a way to do it, i would be willing to make a donation, but i need 4g to work.

Okay, so I know it's an issue with the latest update from HTC, but has anyone found a workaround for the custom ringtones issue? I haven't seen anyone talking about it, so I'm wondering if I missed some magical fix. lol

You can always install another phone book app that allows you to designate a ringtone folder until HTC gets around to issuing a working solution, just a thought. Might not actually work

No magical fix and its phone.apk that has the problem and its been fixed in superlte (really fixed and not an older apk swapped out)
