If you wipe dalvik cache it usually lets you see the full animation due to longer boot.

Looks good on the qHD display. The red really pops!

Nice boot animation!

I found the droid razr boot up sound and I have it installed and everything but is there a way to make it louder? The desc.txt thats already in this bootanimation zip was already set up so all I did was move the sound to the /system/audio/notification folder. It just plays so low.

Open up the file in an editor and bump up the volume that way. Audacity is free, I believe and should get the job done.

Was in the atrix forums and someone had already amplified the boot sound. I'm good to go now.

Score! That saved you some work/time.

I know Tazz's ROM (probably others too) has some DSP controller that lets you nearly double the volume. Careful you don't blow out the speaker though.
Is that only system sounds though? I too would love to find this out, the media sound volume is a bit on the soft side.
Dsp manager on kaosfroyo makes high pitched noise and distortion. It doesn't in other roms?

I have an app called LVH v3.6 (loud volume hack) that boosts all volumes a LOT!
I don't remember where I got it from or even if I paid for it or not. Let me know if you have trouble finding it. If you do try it and want to know what settings worked for me, let me know and I'll look them up.
You have the option to backup your original settings in the app before selecting a custom one. It saves to your SD card.
It's permanent until a full rom flash.

Edit: It's called "Louder Volume Hack" and it's 2 pounds on the Market.
DSP Manager always creates mad amounts of distortion.
Also, I know those apps exist.
Do you know what it actually changes?
It has to add a file or delete or alter a previous.
It doesn't work off of magic.
Lol.

Of course it's not magic. The filename of the backup file it creates is "AudioFilter.csv". I don't know if it's just a copy of an existing file or just a record a previous values. LVH has a folder of files by the same names of the different values (I'm guessing) it can use.
I'm about to flash a new version of the rom I use. Once I'm done restoring apps and such, if I have time maybe I'll do nandroids of before and after applying the LVH settings, and compare the two and determine what file(s) changed.
Sent from my Eris with xtrSENSE v4.6 Beta
Cool, man. Thanks a lot. I'd figure it, I just don't have access to the app. Haha.

I'd be curious too for the headset jack. It's decent but my FM transmitter doesn't put out full volume and I have to turn up my radio in my Camry to like 40 where normally it would be 30.
I bought the program. When I get to a computer I'll rip **** apart. I've been looking at the files with Root Explorer and such right now. Lots of values for things I've never heard of. Hahahahaha. But, I'll get some files made up with the best sound quality and make a flashable zip eventually.

I've had LVH for over a year now and it rocks! I bought it when I had my G1 because the G1 speaker was barely audible at full volume. I installed it on my Eris after I rooted it and it works just fine. It also has a headset boost as well as an in-call volume boost!

If this makes the volume louder, I can hardly tell.
Maybe 10-20%? Definitely seems like the ringer volume itself is a little bit louder at its loudest (notifications/ringtones), but music/media and in-call speaker (speakerphone) I can barely tell a difference. Maybe time will tell!
Either way, thank you for this. Not hearing notifications and ringing are a big deal for me when I travel a lot with the windows down (of course, I use a blue tooth).
This is excellent, either way. Definitely increases volume at least a little bit.

DROID DESTROYS APPLE Boot Animation - Ported for Atrix

So I thought this boot animation was pretty cool... I did a quick port for the Atrix Screen size (540x960), and it looks good. However, it needs some sound badly.
Thought I would post it here and someone could get some sound rocking on this thing. I take no credit for this, all I did was port the screen size for our device.
Here is a video of the animation:

LOVE IT! Anything that has to do with the destruction of that stupid fruit, I'm all for - that "barber" boot animation was just too.... TAME.... for me!

Boot animations should work on any build. However, if they have sound, you have to be careful about which build it is installed on.

I found the perfect audio file for this animation, but for some reason the audio on anything I do is cutting off really short, well before the boot up is finished. I am wondering if there is a maximum play time for audio in the notifications folder.

I made some nice sound fx for this video
Okay, got the desc file working, but theres a couple of issues
first off, the sound starts off a little ahead at first, then the animation catches up,
second of all about 3/4 of the way through the boot the sound gets really low for some reason, so its harder to hear, maybe once i get to my real computer I can edit the mp3 to be louder after that point, but heres the mp3 and edited desc file:
just unzip, replace the desc.txt file in the original bootanimation.zip with the one in this archive
then add the bootfx.mp3 (unzipped) to your /system/media folder via root explorer
... any way someone could put instructions as to exactly how to install this, along with the sound effects, using CWM? Kinda new to the whole thing, really....
when i flash it with cmw it says installation aborted why

You are probably on the wrong version of Tenfars CWM.
Which version are you using?
Added the audio to this boot animation:
http://www.mediafire.com/?rcy6jrlffgu5rrn
I cannot test as I am trying out CM7 pre-beta4 right now, and as far as I know CM does not support animation audio. If anyone tries it, please let the rest of us know if it works OK.
Cheers!

[Q] Add Boot Sound

I have a rooted Droid X2 and am currently running Liberty 3. I would like to add a boot animation sound to the phone. Can some one provide some guidance on how this can be accomplished?
I have a write up ill find it
Edit: I can't find it but google how to android bootanimation and there is plenty of articles
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
Open the bootanimation.zip (under system/media/) and you will see a desc.txt file. That controls the animation. Open the text file and you will see something like
p 0 0 part0
The p declares that to be a part or element
Underneath that line, type
s (file name)
Or
s bionicsound.ogg
Make sure you put the sound file in system/media/audio folder
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
Thank you for the information. I've found the file that you mentioned, but cannot figure out how to edit it? Any ideas?
You can edit it on your comp. I haven't tried to edit it with my phone. I don't think you can edit it with your phone always. You'd have to decompile and recompile it if you do it on your phone. But you can use 7zip on windows and skip the compiling stuff.

I believe the sound file should be placed in
system/media/audio folder/notifications.
But that's just My opinion I could be wrong
Yes, you are correct. The file needed to be placed in the notifications folder. Does anyone know how to increase the volume of the audio file? Is that even possible?
Oh yeah sorry, my bad. The only way to increase it is to use an editing program to increase the decibel.

To elaborate on what others have said, you only need root because you only need to be able to access the location of where the boot animation resides.
I believe there are two locations you can change, though I have always done so at /system/media.

If you are using ES File Explorer, go to settings and make sure "Mount File System" is checked.
You should not have to change permissions. Since you have been changing the permissions, they should be checked as follows

Yeah, I'd like to get about 5 more made up or so, that would be cool. I already have one finished that I made for SHOstock ROM back on the SGH-I777 (SGS2). *if you like this bootanimation, don't forget to thank Jank4AU*
the stock one is just the plain LG one that I got from my Bell E973. these install into you data/local therefor leaving your original intact. data/local will override system/media. essentially it'll look there first and if there isn't bootani there then it'll use the one in you system/media
or instead of flashing the stock one you could just delete bootanimation.zip in data/local and it should bootup with your original bootanimation from system/media
Should have another, new boot animation zip and video up a little later this afternoon.

I didn't try the flashable zips. I've just been putting the boot zip on my internal sd card and using ES File Explorer, moving it directly to /system/media manually. Just rename your original boot animation zip to .bak to keep it without overwriting or deleting. Try that.

The easiest way would be to reflash the rom. Or, you could try connecting it to your computer and see if you can access the sd cards that way.
