Hi I am an Ipad user who is eager to move to the transformer Prime.
I would appreciate any advice regarding the following doubt I have.
You must be aware of the increase in price when asus "converts" the USD to Euros or Pounds. So I have been considering the option to buy the pad in the US and wait for the Spanish keyboard.
I have contacted several official sellers and they can mail me the tablet all right. However they do not provide many details regarding, how much the official taxes will be.
I also know that companies, like "Unibox" for sudamerica, are available to receive your product in the US and mail it to you for a price.
I wonder if anyone who has bought a phone or tablet in the US from Europe could share their experience with us.

I'm spanish and have bought the prime from amazon.de (i know german). Just the tablet, and will wait for the spanish dock to be on sale, because after contacting every retailer i know in spain, everyone has said "no info/not allowed to say" or "late january or even february" about spanish prime release date. For waiting the same time to get tablet + dock, without knowing where i will be able to buy, or what versions, i already ordered the german tablet and will wait with the tablet in my hands for the spanish dock, which should be in almost every retailer by the time it comes out.

In my country:
599 USD = 2040 PLN + 23% VAT = 2512PLN
The price is said by ASUS Polska to be 2699 PLN. So it's quite close. Shops will sell it for 2499 in a few weeks.

That is very a interesting thing to know... I am glad to hear that in Poland you do not let international companies steal from you
The price in Sweden will initially be ~888USD including tax for 32gb champange with dock. (Only model that will be released in january)

I contacted Viewsonic, asking about an official G Tablet Dock, and they transferred me to what they called the dedicated number for the G Tablet (actually apparently a U S Merchants number). The person I spoke with said that the official G Tablet Dock is already available and emailed me an order form.
Any thoughts on this? This is through U S Merchants, (who must be the official distributor of the G Tab since their sticker is on the back of the tablet) but there is no real technical information about the accessories on the order form; whether it is just the Malata dock, or if it is actually made with Viewsonic's blessing specifically for the G Pad.
The G Tablet U S Merchants number is on the order form, so I may try calling again and ask for more details about the dock. Order form attached, hope this is helpful.

There is nothing GTab specific about the dock, its just the malata dock its funny that they are also selling the cheap no name case with keyboard, one would think if there is ever a custom made case/keyboard it would show up with them.
The $50 price is hardly competitive.

Can you point me in the direction of a competitive seller? Electroniccrap (out of stock) was selling it for $49 plus (from what I could tell) $9 shipping. The U S Merchants price includes shipping.
EDIT: The only other seller I could find is Ankaka, who sells for about $37 plus $8 shipping. Still about on par with US Merchants.

$44.99 shipped @ ankaka.
Its also $46 shipped @ merimobiles take an additional 5% off (welcome).
So this is exactly what I meant, they can't be competitive if they are offering the same (in fact even 10%-15% higher) price, not to mention the inconvenience of the ordering process (who is still using money orders/cheques), they will most properly end up drop-shipping it to you from Asia any way, just go straight to the source and order from one of the online retailers above and at least enjoy Paypal protection (just in case).
Most of the store are out of stock. You can ask them about this information. Malata's supplier decide to stop the DOCK'S production. But maybe some one have enough stock. They will resume production(or not) 1-2 month later.

I sell them through my eBay store but I only have 4 left in stock but I wouldn't say I am competitive on the price, however they are in stock in the US.
I only have the 4 plus I have 20 in route to me from China, but after that I'm not going to have any more to sell until Malata decides they want to produce them again. I would drop the price, but I don't want to sell out of them and not have any more to sell. :-(
I do have some news about a replacement dock coming out that is going to be cheaper in price. I will post more details in a new thread when this is confirmed, at the moment its only a rumor.

Same for merimobiles, ordered yesterday, received the tracking number earlier today.
I see Ebuyer.com now have 61 units in stock for next day delivery only £99.99 inc free super saver delivery
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/270540
Update 22nd June 2011
Ebuyer now put price up to £199.99 WTF
the price is still a bit steep for early adopters who missed the asus keyboard offer in April....
... it certainly is steep - BUT i got mine at the weekend - it arrived from dabs.com (also 99 quid) -after waiting 3 weeks for stock to come in.... it is awesome - totally changes how I can use it. Really great. There was a firmware upgrade as soon as I first used it which I've seen discussed on other threads.
I just need to find a decent folio case for the whole thing now . . .

yeah..agree the kb dock itself is awesome..and should be a must have for most TF owners....
the battery in the dock really makes it a life changer..
not really complaining about its price...it's probably the only thing that's priced close to its US version...was hoping asus can extend its early adopter offer a bit though..
I wouldnt pay that much for it tbh, lucky i got mine originally from asus at the offer price but sold mine as apart from the extra juice it didnt suit my needs after using the tablet for a while but it is a clever way of making it hybrid.
but thinking about it when the asus case costs 39.99 retail with pdair cases going for £60, yiou do get a lot for your money and it does not seem that bad of value
I got mine separately because I wanted the 32 Gig version which isn't offered as a bundle with keyboard which is odd to say the least.
As you say the battery life now truly incredible.
Just got my dock on order with ebuyer.
Do you get a separate psu for the dock?

How to pruchase a keyboard dock from the UK to Spain
I wonder if any of you lads in the UK can help me: I live in Barcelona , Spain and I ordered my TF101 from the USA, I will get it in some days. In the online store they weren't offering the keyboard Dock , and I have tried to order it within Spain but it seems here they only sell it bundled with the tablet (16 gb or 32 gb). So far I haven't been able to find a shop (offline or online) that sells them separately, I have been looking into the ones you mention here from the UK but so far they all serve UK residents only. On ebay there are only a few merchants offering it but far too pricey (the cheapest is around 140 pounds (besides with English/Chinese keyboard layout), I would like one with either English or Spanish layout, so buying one from the UK would be just as good. Can anyone suggests me an online shop in the UK that delivers to continental Europe? (apart from ebay and Amazon of course)
Many thanks in advance!
You could try Dabs.ie, they have some on order at the moment but should be the European arm of Uk based Dabs.com.

Thanks, but that is only for Irish customers, I found out they only serve UK and Ireland. But thanks anyway for answering!
Just checked ebuyer and they have 9 left but put 100 pound on the price. I bought mine for 99 pound on tuesday night and they are now 199 pound. What a scam unless it is a typo
I just got referred to this site by Asus to purchase a replacement uk clip for the charger as they won't replace my broken one.
http://www.asusparts.eu/index.php?cPath=222155_222301
Prices are pretty good until you add the DHL cost to uk.
€6.67 plus vat for the clip and €17.55 for delivery.
May be cheaper if your in mainland Europe though.
May as well go to asus uk and get the full kit for £24.99 plus £6 delivery.
All I gotta say is Europeans are annoying! They keep bidding on my ebay items even though I specifically said US bidders only. For example, I just sold a hard drive to a European bidder. My shipping price was 9.99, but that was for US only! It's been like 4 days and the guy hasn't paid yet, so I had to relist.
Last night, I was able to find the settings to block foreign bidders.
Annoying Europeans... why don't they buy locally? Why bid on hard drives half a world away?

Totally agree with you there.
I wouldn't buy from US or China etc due to the high shipping costs.
I myself sell to UK only yet still get requests from Spain, Germany etc etc even though it's listed as uk only.
There certainly are a lot of empty heads about
Anyway I just ordered the new charger from Asus UK at £30.99 inc delivery and paid by paypal.

Don't waste your time and risk your money on eBay. Expansys is already selling the LTE version for $700 including shipping. For another $35, they'll extend the warranty they provide from six to 18 months. (With their warranty, if Sony USA refuses to cover the device, Expansys will return it to the country from which it came, handle the warranty repair for you, and then return it to the USA once more.)

Good luck! All I can tell you is that I bought my HTC One X, my wife's HTC One X+ and my Xperia Z2 from them, and every one was a good experience. The One X+ was the only one where I had any problems at all -- I'd actually ordered a One S, but they couldn't source it and so after waiting a while, they offered me the much better One X+ at well below their retail price.
And for my Xperia Z2, I ordered the phone, two docks and headphones, then they contacted me to let me know I could save money by buying a new, unopened Z2 UK kit that a customer bought and returned without opening, with that specific kit including the headphones I'd bought separately. They actually saved me a good bit by doing so, when they could've just filled the order I had made and got more money out of me...
So yes, three good experiences and I'm very happy with them. Hopefully you will be too! I'm pretty certain once I can afford the Z4 Tablet, I'll be getting it from Expansys, unless somehow Sony USA miraculously sets a reasonable price for the tablet. (Last time around, I paid less to them for the phone, two docks, headphones, extended warranty and expedited shipping than I'd have paid to Sony USA for just the phone by itself.)
We'll see. Here's to hoping. I'm not overly concerned with the timeframe as much as I am just getting it.
Anyone know where I can get the Keyboard seperately? They never released the keyboard for the Z2 Tab Internationally so I'm going to use this. The only one I have found is this one: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/301652441507?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
But $288 AUD for a keyboard alone IS CRAZY. I was expecting to spend like $100...
*EDIT* Found it a bit cheaper on http://www.expansys.com.au/sony-blu...or-sony-xperia-z4-tablet-black-qwerty-275344/ $240 + 18 Postage AUD

You're not going to find it for $100 or even anything close to that. The keyboard alone, direct from Sony, costs 15,880 yen in Japan. That's the equivalent of AU$166 in their home market, and you've got to add the cost of international shipping PLUS a profit margin to make it worth their while for any company selling you one as a parallel import. I'd figure $220 is the absolute minimum you're going to find it for anywhere...
I bought at Clove - 482.50 GBP, but it bundles BKB50 Bluetooth Keyboard!
I am in the US looking to buy one of these. Any recommended sellers?
From xperia blog they recommend Clove and Handtec from the UK. Handtec seems cheaper (vs ebay for perhaps better returns/warranty).
I'd appreciate any recommendations from people here who have purchased.
Handtec sells for $572. Ebay is closer to $540
If I do get it from ebay (from taiwan or HK), could I run into issues with languages?

I purchased mines at Plemix for $520 + $28 shipping. Also purchased a Z1 compact there with no problems. Shipping was within 2 days so that's a plus. Currently, there's a free 32 GB memory card special until the end of the month. Haven't really had any issues with them and never really contacted customer service so I can't say anything about that. Not too sure about the returns/warranty but there's info about that on their website.
Thanks. Although from some quick research on Plemix I see some mixed reviews. I'm sure most of these places online are fine if everything goes smoothly. Its really when something goes wrong (ie. item arriving damanged, DOA) to see how it is handled.
I've also noticed that Amazon UK has it for cheaper than Clove and Handtec. The Xperiablog article said AmazonUK does not allow VAT to be excluded but it was excluded when I added it to the cart. Actually, I notice I can buy directly on Amazon US for around $540. I might just do that.

Isn't the one listed on amazon from third party retailers like expansys? I wonder how they handle returns just in case.. any idea??
I got mine from Amazon for $550 and received it next day thanks to Prime shipping. No issues.
I ended up ordering through amazon as well. I decided to save $10 and get the non-prime option. Although I ordered it Friday and it came today. I just wasnt at home to sign for it. (Missed the guy by 10min)
I think the only issue will be if I need to send it back for warranty. I'll have to pay shipping both ways to Hong Kong or Taiwan or wherever the phone originated from.

I live in Australia and have bought the z1 and z3 compact from Clove UK, have bought other tech from Handtek, had no problems or issues with using Australia cell provider, support or anything. I now have the z5 compact which I bought from ebay Quality Deals Store on Ebay when ebay had 20% off store wide recently, got it delivered for a bargain $600 AUD. The phone came quick, set it up in English easy and it works on Australian networks etc. Couldn't be happier ☺
Amazon was perfect for me. These past two weeks has it seldom carry the Z5c as Prime... usually a seller ships some 10 devices to Amazon's warehouses (to be categorized as Prime) but those fly off the shelves. In the past two weeks I have seem some 60 Z5c as Prime to disappear within hours, but if you look daily, they are there.
If you are in the US, at $550 Prime is worth it over ebay's $540 in my opinion; faster shipping and 30 days possibility to return it.
do you need amazon prime account for it? is this different from 3rd party sellers on amazon?
