VPN support? - Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet

Does anyone know if its possible to connect to a VPN (PPTP) from the NT? Perhaps a hidden settings panel like for the untrusted software installation settings page?

Archos 2.1.8 enable proxy not working

Just updated my A101IT to the new firmware 2.1.8 that should have proxy support enabled in it.
I've been looking for a way to set a proxy server in the wifi settings since my company require us to use proxy to connect to the internet.
I was able to enter the wifi proxy settings and save it. But the problem is i can't seem to enable it.
When ever i checked the "Enable Proxy" in the proxy settings then save it, the proxy setting module close. And when i open the setting again the "Enable Proxy" is unchecked again.
This means i am still not able to browse the web bcoz the proxy settings i inputted is not yet enabled.
Have anyone tried this?
If Anyone can help please post here... thank you so much!!!
Same here on A70. Very disappointing. I installed ASProxy hoping that it was just the settings dialog that was broken and iptable support had been added. It reports...
Status: Waiting...
Reason: No Netfilter/iptables
Anyone know how to use the wifi proxy settings in the new firmware.

Responce from Archos
Service ticket reply from Archos:
"Unfortunately there have been additional reports of this occuring. As such we are
forwarding all this information to our engineers for further review to determine
if there is an issue in the latest firmware or if they are hardware issues"
Is this helpfull?
EDIT 2: Found a way to get to the dialogue box. Connect to the Hotspot as normal, then connect to a different Wireless connection if one is available in the same area short tap the offending HotSpot connection as if you were going to reconnect to it and the dialogue box will appear !! This will only work if the offending HotSpot is in range. And NOW I have perfect Wireless when roaming YESSS!!

[Q] Using Android with VPN (Cisco) plus configuration script.

I'm considering getting the Transformer Prime but it hinges on whether I'll be able to connect to my university wireless network.
I know that this kind of connection is not currently supported natively in Android (and I can't seem to get connected using the app "VPN Connections") but with the recent closure of this issue should I be able to connect do you reckon?
Also upon that I need to change LAN settings (on Windows, at least) in order for programs to actually access non-university sites. That involves using a configuration script (.pac link) and/or(not sure if both required) set a proxy IP.
I'm just wondering if anyone with decent knowledge of VPNs or Android (though seeing as it's an unreleased version...) could pitch in with an opinion as to whether I'll be capable of connecting to this specific network with ICS.
Thanks, sorry for over use of parenthesis.
Bump.

[Q] VPN Setup

I have an mpman mp824 tablet (same as Coby Kyros MID8125), preloaded with Android 2.3.3. I want to use a VPN, but when I go to the Settings - Wireless and Networks screen, there is no VPN setup item as I would expect. I'm not an expert, but I assume this may be because a) the VPN applet is there somewhere, but has not started, or b) it is not there for some reason.
Can anyone help, plus is there a way I can overcome this? I have tried the supplier, but they are not replying
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Try these steps. It will surely help you!
1-Tap the ‘Menu’ button on your smartphone to open the resulting window.
2-Open the ‘Wireless and Network Settings’ window as you enter the new window and tap the concerned icon.
3-You will notice the option for ‘VPN Settings‘ along with many other options depending on the interface of the respective android vpn phone.
4-After tapping the VPN settings option, you will get the choice to connect to one of the many protocols available. From these, choose ‘Add PPTP VPN’.
5-In the next window, you will be asked to set VPN Name, VPN Server, Enable encryption, and DNS search domains, depending on your handheld devices.
6-Provide VPN Name and other information accordingly, click OK to complete the VPN configuration.
7-Navigate back to the VPN listings window and tap the VPN network that you have created just now to establish the connection.
8-The connection will be notified by a key icon in the notification area of the smartphone.
9-To disconnect the VPN, all you need is to move to the location of the connection and tap the current VPN connection.

[Q] TF201 USB Networking

Hi all, first post at XDA!
I have a TF201
Firmware: 2.6.69.4
Android 4.0.3
With a USB Gigabit network card - Gelphi G Monoprice
I don't seem to be getting an IP, every other device on my network - PVR, 2 x PCs, iPhone ect are connecting fine, just not my Prime. Are there any setting required to enable USB networking? Or perhaps somewhere to configure a static IP for my USB adapter?
Any help appreciated.
Wilko
other then just turning your wifi off there shouldn't be anything else
the usb should be a plug and play
it could be that the usb-ethernet is not compatible with the prime
You could try configuring it by using AnyCut (Does not require root) since it creates shortcuts to virtually everything on your prime, including hidden settings. One of them is called "Ethernet" and leads to Ethernet settings. You can get AnyCut here, since it's considered incompatible with the TF Prime on the play store, just make sure under security that allow installation of apps outside of the market is checked. (You can re-uncheck it once you finished installing AnyCut) https://www.dropbox.com/s/dny6o1c540u02ow/com.appdroid.anycut.apk
Once you install it, open it (Yes the gui is out of scale but it will still work), tap New shortcut, then Activity, then scroll down to Ethernet and tap that, then hide the keyboard and tap OK. Finally go back to your home screen an tap the Ethernet Icon, it should then lead you to the Ethernet settings.
