is it possible or ever be possible to get beats sound technology ported over from htc devices for our streak?
I don't think so, it requres HTC Sense, as it works on the standard HTC Music Player.

I searched through here and google, and couldn't find an answer.
Does anyone know if the 2.0 update will have an equalizer? Is it really that hard?
I don't think it have equalizer, they work only for: Contacts and accounts
Email
Messaging
Camera
Android virtual keyboard
Browser
Calendar
Media Framework
Bluetooth
New Framework APIs
I'm very happy that they work for bt Try to find something on the market
i have no idea what carmen2009 is getting at... but as far as I've read, no, it will not. I don't think it would be that difficult to create an app that would control the EQ.
I've been waiting for an equalizer too. I just want to tune the high end pitch note.
For me, the equaliser is probably my only fault with the phone.I've came from an N97 to a Hero, and the media player on that was amazing, drove my headphones perfectly. The Hero still sounds great and drives the phones well, its just that with no EQ, it isn't really a viable as an all in 1 phone/media player/internet device.
Maybe this will help:
The Equalizer from the 2.1 Milestone update.
Doesn't work on my 1.5 stock Hero...

apparently on some devices it's hardware, some it's software. I got it on my sensation which didn't have it before.
i did try to install the beats music apk, it force closed. beats is a big gimmick. all the htc phones that have beats just have a pre-built equalizer that kicks in when u plug in a pair of beats.
Its gimmicky for sure, but HTC sure paid a hell of a lot for the brand. Maybe that's why they can't get android updates out.

Yeah but I am unable to replicate those audio levels therefore it does make a difference. I like that a professional was able to bottle up a sound quality and deliver it to my alcoholic ears. Maybe it would sound even better with quality hardware but I'll take what I can get.

I have flashed a beatz zip file from Evo3D, but no go.. The quality (EQ) is nice though in my Evo3D.. Maybe we need to check files and tweak it.. have not tested the updated zip..

I tested Beats on the Sensation for a while, but PowerAMP app (2.x) still beats it HTC never confirmed that it was following the hardware recommendations used for example in HP Beats Audio products, so indeed it might all just be software...

Yes it does improve the quality quite a bit imo, I own beats headphones and have tested this feature far too much (with and without beats headphones) on my dhd when we were porting it to Coredroid. Unfortunately, I was too busy with my Flyer at the time so I have no idea how it was done. I do still have the files we were messing with though so I can at least figure out how hard the job would be..
Maybe Lee knows but he seems to be pretty busy already, I'll ask Sergio or Capy about it when I get a chance. Would be nice to have it on these tablets

I would love some audio enhancement on the Flyer. I would prefer standalone i.e. Cyanogen DSP vs. one that forces you to use a particular player i.e. PowerAmp.
I agree it would be cool to get this. Not only in the Music app but in the video 1 too if possible. IMO it sounds nice + the beats notification looks awesome
It is going to be a lot harder to get it on the Flyer than phones like Sensation and Evo 3D. The reason is that framework was already built into those phones and it was a just a manner of tweaking the framework for the Beats options to show and work. I have checked the Flyer music framework and none of the Beats stuff is there hidden. So, I am not saying it is impossible but it would take a ton of work.
you can install the Cyanogen DSP Manager / Equalizer from this link. tested and working on rooted GB roms for me.

I'm using DSP on my stock Flyer. It works pretty well.
Works on the Honeycomb ROMs too.

Hi
Works perfect on my Flyer, thanks 4 sharing.
I noticed the latest version of Google Music will actually integrate with DSP manager if you have it installed. It shows up in the Music settings menu.

The great Dane only use LeeDrOID powered devices.
Current toys;
EVO 3D - Leedroid
Sensation - Leedroid

I noticed that their is going to be a OTA update for ICS and Sense 3.6 for the amaze. I was wondering is their anyway you can install beats audio on the phone without a custom rom? I think i seen some desire and incredible 2 users doing it but the tread is closed so I couldn't post their. I also seen an inspire user flash it onto his phone on youtube.

You can't. Beats requires specialized libraries that need to be written to the system partition. You don't have access to that unless you're rooted.

Well I am rooted? So what would i need to do. Just curious.
Isn't Beats Audio just another equalizer preset, or does it go beyond that to somehow affect sound in a way the equalizer--or other music player apps for that matter--cannot?
I thought beats was a chip or something lol

I don't know the details of how Beats Audio works, but I have found that the audio experience using Beats has been better than any of the presets on PowerAmp. I realize that you can set custom EQ settings in PowerAmp but that is a major pain in the ass to do.
The only problem I've been having with Beats in QS 3.0.0 is that the headphone buttons don't work properly. I can pause only. Prev/Next track by long press or by double or triple press results in my phone redialing the last number dialed. Don't know if that's a Beats thing or a ROM thing.
Good morning All,
I am having trouble with my HTC Amage 4G (Ruby) not maintaining the audio effects/enhancements. As with many others I do have a very touchy 3.5mm headphone jack (although it is not as bad as the 1st Ruby I had..now on the 2nd unit) which makes this issue even more of a PITA. Please see below for more information:
PHONE INFO:
HTC Ruby
Super CID/Juopunutbear S-OFF
Energy ICS ROM (08/06/2012)...{Android 4.03; HTC Sense 3.6}
stock Kernel
HTC music player (version 3.5.2212262667.305764)
HTC music enhancer (version 1.0.2211142240.253498)
DSP manager (version 2.0)
My Question: (and yes I did search the forum for sound enhancement issues).
Is there any way to force the sound enhancement settings to either hold the last known setting or even default to a particular enhancement (it defaults to no effects right now) for the HTC music player?
I have tried a couple different music player apps, and so far the HTC music player has the best mix of features for my application, but by no means does that mean that I am locked in to using it (will be trying Apollo player today), if there is something better.
Everytime there is even the slightest movement on my headphone jack, I either lose one speaker, or it stops the music player altogether, when this happens it knocks the settings back to "no effects". This is a pain in the a$$ to say the least. Basically if the music stops, I have to go back in and re-set the desired enhancement.
Any help with this issue would be appreciated, TIA.

Dunno about keeping the settings, but I do believe HTC shipped faulty jacks. Unsure if the replacements help or not.
I too have a faulty jack but i use dsp manager to globally save enhancements

Beats will be enabled by default on the play edition (I am currently running it) and you can't turn on/off.

Yes, I haven't noticed a difference. Also if you google it.....
What about Beats Audio?
The Google HTC One will feature the hardware parts of HTC's Beats Audio enhancements, but there'll be no software indicator for Beats in the status bar as there is on the HTC Sense version.
