Been using various Roms on my sgs2 and currently using the excellent TheGingerMod rom.
One thing I have been looking for is the samsung stock email app (for using a Exchange email account for work) but without the security administrator functions activated, im not keen on my work having full access to my handset and even the remote wipe!
I've tried a couple of email apk's listed in the Apps & Themes section but can't find one that fully stops my work having access to remote wipe and other security functions.. Perhaps its not possible?
One I currently use is ok (gingerbread email) from gauner1986 but I miss being able to move emsils to my folders etc, which samsung does very well!
I found another email apk which was posted as being a modified samsung version but couldn't run it..simply crashed each time I ran it...
Anyone help on this please?... Love this community and all you dev's are simply brilliant at what you do!

I want to use the samsung email client since well... i like the widget on the desktop. I don't see an option to PUSH in settings. The quickest I see is to check every 5 minutes. Did I not set up the email correctly or what is it?
I had a push option earlier when I first entered my gmail account info but had to delete it because the push was being random. Having readded the account there isnt a push option any longer.
Help?

Push email was available on the native S2 email client.
I vote for native apps first.
I tried the advice inside the android forum link, it works (gmail with exchange) but is sucks too much data in stand by.

what version of calendar does the sgs2 come pre-installed with? the green flat icon 1; and where can i download if from, the complete package.
I lost/deleted mine (as it wouldn't sync with google and since I've tried many others that I don't like at all, I want the original back.
help would be appreciated.

If you cant find a separate download for the stock calender app... reflash a non-wipe version of your ROM... you should get back the stock calendar..
maybe you have already worked that out

I got my original calendar back!! whooo hooo....
yet still it won't sync completely with google, which was the initial problem I had... still will only sync 1 mth worth of info (ive tried clearing calendar storage & other various methods) stil nothing, yet having the original calendar back is a plus..
I have calendar.apk calendarprovider.apk & odex in/system/app... no calendar.odex..
So with that in mind; anyone with sgs2 with an original stock system.
apk (which includes the complete calendar files) please send me.
be much appreciated.. in meantime I'll search the net.

Today i'm facing a problem with my Facebook app on my Android device, i can log in, i can see everything on my News Feed, i can see my Friend Requests & Inbox too(and open them), i see the list of my notifications but when i press on a notification, it do nothing.
I am the only one or no?
I'm using AOKP ICS 4.0.3 ROM.
You're not the only one. I was running tFC22v0.1.1 and flashed tFC18v0.1.1 but it didn't help.

Honestly facebook is the worst app for any platform. I am seriously concidering un installing it from every device i own, and just using the browser.

i hope this is the right forum. i have installed cm9 on my samsung i9001 (galaxy s plus) so far so good, beta 2 is running smoothly.
sadly there is no standard email application included in that install, or correct me if i am wrong, at least i couldnt find any.
and whats even more sad is i cant download the gmail app from the market because of my location and something i believe is a name infringement or whatever...
so i am in need of a descent email app. i am currently running a gmail.apk for the v2.3.5. which is kinda buggy...
i think the best for me would be the email app that comes with the sgs+ on stock rom or an up to date gmail.apk would be nice too.
since email is kinda delicate i dont want to use any 3rd party app from the market or is there anything trustworthy?
please help me!

Try K9 mail. If an email app is not trustworthy there would be bad reviews.

Hi,
I am new to this page. I own an android device with Android 4.0.4 version.
I had the default email.apk(not gmail app) in my device, but now I realized that it is not there anymore.
Anyways.
I have to access my official emails which now I am using through Hotspot of my secondary phone.
Please can somebody help me find the default email application.
I have tried all other apps for exchange server emails, but none are worth trying.
Just wish somebody reverts here
are you rooted? download any rom and copy the email app to system/app and set correct permission... you're done
