I wanted to change my status bar to one that resembles WP7, so i googled it and found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1176182
from that, i pulled the framework-res.apk from the folder and basically copied it over to my LG Thrill, replacing the original one.
I did however back it up. I restart, thinking when it boots it'll have the statusbar like the one shown in the thread.. wrong. it's stuck in boot animation and won't turn on.
What do i do?! I don't want to hard reset and lose all my data...

Boot your phone into recovery by adb while connected to your pc. Then mount SD and copy a theme zip for your phone or your old framework in a flashable zip and then flash that. Word of the wise. Framework files are not cross compatible between devices and sometimes even roms.

Im going to lose my mind! I've searched and read and found no real answer..... Is there anyway that I can get my phone out of the boot screen?
Ive downloaded and rooted before and never had a prblm! I download this certain Rom Lastnight and all of a sudden my phone is stuck on the boot screen! I've tried everything i can with it and no luck. Does anyone have some type of info on what i can do or is there no hope for my poor lil droid?
Please let me know!
Thanx in advance!
Have you tried a battery pull? Pop that out and back in, reboot into recovery and restore your nandroid back up. Should be fine from there...
What I do when this happens to me is pull the battery, wipe my phone, re-apply the rom, then reboot.
-If that does not work, then revert back to your nand backup.
Thanks for the ideas but I tried both of those actions first and got nothing in return. This sukks! I even tried to go back and load the PB00img zip tha i had and no go. I'm guessing that i Bricked this dam Phone!
Back to the Blackberry! Damn!
Do you think its possible that i can load a new Rom and try to boot the phone into recovery and flash that zip? The problem seems to be my boot screen! I've seen post with people with similar "situations" <--------lol (not From Jersey shore) and tried those methods and once again nothing.
Sucks that you are still having this issue. The next step I can think of would be if you have SDK set up then once it is stuck on the boot screen, run a logcat and post it here so someone that is smarter than I can figure out where you are running into problems at. You'll need to navigate to your SDK/tools folder (in the Command window of course...) and then once there just type in: adb logcat .
This will result in a myriad of crazy computer language stuff. Should be able to tell us something at least.
First, take a deep breath; your phone is not bricked. Far from it in fact.
Second, prove to yourself that it isn't bricked by booting it into the custom recovery:
Power it off, and then hold down Vol-Up (first) and the End (second); keep pressing both buttons until the three skating droids have appeared. The custom recovery menu should pop up about 10-12 seconds after that.
Third, download "some other certain ROM" (I get to be as vague as you are, right?) to your PC, and get it to the root folder of your SD card somehow. Look up "USB-MS toggle Amon_RA" if you don't already know what that is.
Fourth, flash that "some other certain ROM" and prove to yourself that your phone is not bricked, making sure that you perform a "Wipe data/factory reset" first before you flash the ROM.
Then, after you've shown yourself how it is possible to do these steps, go back and try to figure out why the other "certain ROM" doesn't work on it's first boot. Try popping out the SD card before you boot it to see if that is the trouble.

@es0tericcha0s, Thanks for the response but instead of doing more harm to the phone i just took it to VZW, (Kinda) Explained what happen and they switched it out no prob.
@bftb0 lol Be as Vague as possible.... I didn't want to say any particular Rom for the simple fact that who ever did the Rom i'm sure worked hard at it, And evevn tho i'm not new at this, it could very possibly be my mistake somewhere in installing it! SO I choose to respect the XDA and The Dev But thanks for your awesome response! (no Sarcasm intended) lol
Ok i was in recovery mode and i had planned on installing a ROM called Megatron(makes cpu faster). I had a bad signal on my computer so i decided to hold off on downloading the ROM. However, i remember downloading a theme and i saw the update.zip file on my desktop. I copied it to the root of my sdcard and on my phone it read,"update.zip.zip"(didnt really bother me because i figured it was STILL considered a .zip file). Anyway, I flashed it from the sdcard and i tried to reboot my phone and it went normal until it got to the Android logo. It would have the sleek light going across the logo but then it would freeze, go blank, then come back and do the same thing again. Now i tried to backup my phone before doing this but when i tried, it wouldnt let me and it told me to do it from the adb(I dont know how). Its obvious im new to this. I dont think its bricked because it turns on and i really dont know if i voided the warranty on it or not. PLEASE HELP ME!
You're bootlooping. I'm not very advanced in all this just yet, but after reading through different forums you gotta flash a factory rom.
http://www.lg.com/us/support/mc-support/mobile-phone-support.jsp
If that doesnt work, find a .zip file of the original firmware and flash it through recovery.
Ok I don't know where i went wrong but i attempted to flash my sprint optimus s and needless to say. i messed something up. it boots up w/ the sprint/lg logo and it boots into the android os. the odd thing is there is no apps, no menu bar, just the top white strip with the signal gague and the time. can someone help me please????
what did u flash with? sounds like a phone without a homescreen. try going to adb and making it install any kind of homescreen (you need a apk file though.) and try from there. also u can reflash/nandroid restore
well also its frozen and the pull down menu does not work...
Finally found the answer in the Nexus forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1379875

Please tell me I'm not missing the obvious. Here's the deal.
When the phone is booted and running normally, adb works fine. No problems looking around/pulling/pushing/changing permissions/etc...
But when I boot into recovery, it says it has found a new device (Android Samsung SPH-L710 or something like that) and wants to install drivers for it. I have searched thoughly using just about every combination of "adb" "Samsung" "recovery" "Galaxy S3" etc, etc, etc I could think of. They all point to the drivers I already have !!!
I like to make custom icons for things like the title bar, you know, just add a little color to the signal strength, data in/out arrows, things like that. My usual routine with my old EVO was to hook up to the computer, use the batch files I have written to pull framework/SystemUI or whatever, drop in the png I changed, then reboot the phone to recovery and push them back. I don't like using root explorer to put them back while the phone is running normally, but that's what I've had to do so far.
Can someone point me in the right direction? Am I missing the obviuos (wouldn't be the first time ) ?
Nobody? Is adb working for you in recovery?
Hello,
I posted this in the triumph forum, but according to XDA, that's dead, so i hope you dont mind me posting this here?
I had a triumph with MIUI on it and it worked fine, but i decided that i'd try a CM9 build found here
http://www.motorolatriumphhacks.com/
once i installed it i was on the splash screen over an hour so i decided the pull the batter and go into recovery mode. it didnt work the first time but after the third time. i got it to work by pulling the battery and pressing the power and volume buttons before putting it back in.
Here's where i screwed up. I downloaded the stock rom and tried looking for it in recovery mode but it coudlnt be found cause it was a .7z and when i opened it, it didnt have the say filestructure as regular roms. just a bunch of images, like those that go into the image folder(can you guess where i'm going with this?) so i copy the contents of the image folder to a folder named "image" on my desktop and proceed to paste the img files into my phone's image folder. i try booting up and all i get is a constant vibration. so i try to put the old files back in and guess what ALL THE FILES HAVE DISAPEARED. I MEAN I EVEN SEARCH AND I CANT FIND THEM ANYWHERE!!! I'm so screwed, i dont know what i can do to fix this. please tell me i havent permabricked my phone!!
After some googling i found this and it worked!! reflashing to factory with this
