Hello everyone
I just installed cm7 and wanted to select GSM but there is no such option. I am in an area with only GSM access. How can I get GSM working here?
Wanted to post in the same section but I have less than 10 posts.
Please advise someone.
Thanks in advance.
Also, I am attaching the snapshots of the settings. The only 2 network types available are EvDo and CDMA.
.
.
GSM worked before cdma did.

Okay I recently rooted my TB and flashed bamf 3.0 RV4.9 ran perfect with no issues.... I later tried to change and font and after rebooting it would not load past the splash screen so I went unto hboot and reflashed bamf ROM. It than rebooted and loaded up as normal. However now it will not connect to Skype or WiFi. When trying to connect to WiFi it'll say "obtianing up address" and sit there for a minute that disconnect is this a radio issue or US it bc i didn't wipe all the data when I reflashed bamf? Tundra for the help in advanced
Your word correction is not serving you well LOL.
Anyway I would say do a full wipe of data, cache, and dalvik cache in Clockworkmod Recovery and then try to reflash the ROM. For future reference even if you are doing something small like changing fonts ALWAYS make a nandroid backup in Clockworkmod recovery FIRST. Then if you have a similar issue to this one you can do a full wipe and restore your backup without losing anything.

In Clockworkmod recovery, using the volume rocker to move up and down and tapping the power button to select, choose wipe data/factory reset and then select yes. Let it do it's thing and it will come back to the main recovery screen. Now choose wipe cache partition then select yes. Now go down to advanced and select that. In the advanced menu choose wipe dalvik cache and then select yes. After it is done you will still be in the advanced menu so scroll down to go back and select it. Now flash your ROM.
This is how you should always wipe before flashing a new ROM or update unless the ROMs thread specifically says not to. (which probably won't happen.) This only applies to ROMs, and NOT to themes, kernels, or mods.

If you figure it out shoot me a pm! I'm fixing to deploy overseas so I need my WiFi!

Is your phone GSM or CDMA (Verizon). If it's GSM, download en.EU fastboot files and flash with rsd lite. For cdma version sbf still haven't come out yet.

GSM is not working
Some of them have a question about using a international sim… Infact i have the same question… i have flashed my phone with multiple different roms still i cant get my Vodafone sim to work majority of the times i get this error message “com.android.phone has stopped working” i am not sure if anyone has answer. But i would really appreciate if someone could help us with that error message. Thanks again
Clear catch, dalvik and fa Tory reset. Flash jokers 3.2 cm9 from and g apps. Let phone boot up to setup screen. Reboot into recovery, clear cache and dalvik, flash jokers 4.2.1 or 4.3 and reboot.
This worked for me.

Hey guys,
Quick question. I'm currently running CheckROM EvoHD v3.5 on my SGS3 which is amazing, however I thought I'd check what updates are available, and it appears that CheckROM v5.5 seems to be the new thing with improved speeds, jellybean, etc etc
I've been off the radar for a while so can't remember exactly what needs to be done to update, but the Checkrom website tells me this:
Flashing Instruction:
You need to have CWM5
You need to do a full wipe manually
Download ROM
Put in your SD Card
Reboot to Recovery and do a /data wipe and and a /Cache Wipe
Then Flash the ROM via Recovery
After the process is over Phone Should Reboot takes 10~15min
And you will on JB 4.1.1

My CWM Manager is v3.60 (Current recovery CF-CWM-v1.5). Does this mean I have to update CWM somehow first, and then download the ROM, wipe /data and /cache and then flash the ROM?
I assume I will also have to back up messages and contacts etc etc before I do all this?
Cheers
John

^ Yes, it was stated in the instructions that you have to update your CWM.. it is up to you if you want to make back-up of your messages
I hope this helps!

hmm I have a new problem...
I just updated from CheckROM 3.5 to 5.5 by doing the following:
format / system
format / data
format / cache
install CheckROM 5.5 from zip
Reboot device

However, I don't have any mobile data (3G or GSM). I have full reception, WiFi works fine etc but no 3G or GSM available.
I've tried:
- reinstalling CheckROM using the above method (incl. full wipe)
- toggling mobile data on and off
- choosing network operator manually, and automatically
- remove and reinstall SIM card twice
- tried changing network mode to GSM only, WCDMA only and Auto mode
Any ideas why this would be happening? I always get full 3G reception at home.
Cheers

Thanks mate. Not sure why I had to do this but this definitely did the trick. The guide is here for anyone wondering:

Yeah well I flashed Jose51197 miuiv5 Rom and had no signal, was expecting that since it was a port, but I booted into recovery wiped ( factory reset, cache, and dalvik cache ) and restored back to 4+ but once booted it showed a trangle over my singnal bars. And I read in Jose's post that you had to set apn manually if that happened and wipe cache&Calvin but it still shows the trangle. What do I do I know it means roaming. And can't connect to Verizon, send text but under settings> enable data roaming then I can only use settings> select find data network, and it connects to some service
