I mean, using a miniUSB cam for making video calls with a proper app.

Its very unlikely that SE would release such an accessory for the x10, when it would be useless with their current line of handsets. The only way a cam accessory would be added is if some was able to make appropriate miniusb drivers to support the use of a mini-usb cam
^^What he said, except it's micro USB...

If u need features the X10 doesn't have then buy a phone which suites your usage.
otherwise use a mirror

I thought he meant the camera would be mini, as in tiny or small... not the port type... but I could be wrong.

Actually I was referring to the port type.
You're right guys, it's microUSB. My bad
The psp 1000 could do this.. USB hosting was a native hardware feature.
The x10 may be capable.. but would require some hand written drivers and code.
Since SE hides the candy.
Build a mini periscope for the camera, using a couple of mirrors... It would probably be easier and more compact than the usb camera! Infact you could use a 1/4" headphone jack to hold it in place....
Might try this, it sounds doable!

For the key mapping, which i know would be an issue, i have ideas for that too
W - Up
A - Left
X - Down
D - Right
Home - Home
Back - Back
Menu - Menu
Search - Physical Z (Or On Screen Key)
Analogs - On Screens (We dont have analogs on our phones, so we need to have onscreen.)
For mini, we need To have it all Onscreen, but in Landscape mode they will pop up.
It should also be a option on the pro.
It would only work on the pro though because to use the sticks properly we need multitouch so I guess mini is out the window

Yeah, but wanna team up in creating/porting it?
man in pretty good with computers but i dont think i would be able to do something like this im not too good at coding i can do pc java and more basic android java but i think this would be real hard well maybe not the keyboard bit that might acrually be simple but sticks would be hard so we would probably need a guy like dark hes pretty good with apps
i think you can't port the control exactly
but my idea is port the control from a emulator app from the maket
This is how you get things done ,can't wait for this good luck lads

Also when pro is overloaded there is an big delay from the keyboard

I agree with this idea!
Hi all,
I just bought a Motorola S10 HD bluetooth headphone but I can't make it be found by my Xperia X10. I already looked some forums and there is no many details about its compatibility, but every place I found something, people is saying it works.
Can someone help me? Is there something I can do to make the phone recognize the headphone?
PS.: I am using Wolf's custon ROM (TW 007.2 w/ stock kernel) and already tried to move back to the original sony's rom, but nothing happened.
Hope someone can help me.
Thanks,
Carlos

Minneyar from www.PocketPC.ch ported Xperia TV Launcher for 2011 Devices with HDMI.
Downloadable without registering from them.
Please no Mirror
Flash with Recovery
restart
go to LiveWare Manager & put TV Launcher in HDMI Startup.
on connecting HDMI it should then be in statusbar.
Thank you , I'm already try it , worked on ics beta , smooth on HDMI mode!!

Same here. More noticeable if you have a large size HDTV. The output for arc's hdmi is 720p max.
Hopefully, Xperia S and P will output 1080p

I'm try decompile and extract apk , I found drawable resolution is now 320dpi - -*
but It's still beautiful and work.
xperia s & p produce a lot sharper image output.
but beware, that arc is laggy on 720p so no 1080p for arc (though somehow would shurely be portable)
S & P are lot more powerful, so they can handle 1080p throughput

There is no app icon for it; it only launches once your HDMI is plugged in. You'll see a notification in the notification bar to launch it.

Hey All!
The camera software is an effective solution to automatically turn the flash on SONY-RAY, I'm excited about this, I've tried and had success with it. Vignette new ver is the best choice! Image quality is enhanced, 4-6MB/photo, you should select auto flash mode to enjoy!

Yes, Ray only has 2 modes - On and Off flash, no auto!

No... Ray has no Autoflash chip... the only way is the turn on Led flash and then take pics...
vignette is the only camera app i know that could make auto flash with my ray
Like already posted in other thread, vignette seems to simulate autoflash. But for me it works great.
GOOD!
I think SE should coordinate with the author of this software, SE can learn a lot!
I hope it will be come in the next update

Personally I only use the flash on the odd occasion - the Ray's camera copes with taking pictures without flash in low light levels so much better than other phones on the market.

because when there was this sibling called neo, ray is the same spec so Sony takes off her talent in order to make her more skinny

RAY is the smart choice, all products, it has its limitations. In early April, Sony will upgrade it to 4.0!
Any idea why only Vignette enables real flash ? I'd love Camera 360 or Camera Zoom to work are they don't look like they were designed by a 5 year old...
