Does anyone have any suggestions for how to properly outfit their X2 while running? I've found that keeping it in my pocket causes it to fly around much more than I am comfortable with. Has anyone tried an armband for it? Thank you.
I would suggest Seidio. I'm not sure I'd they have an arm band one, bur I've got their active case with a soft shell, then a hard shell around it. I've gone longboarding down hills and crash while holding my X2 and its been completely fine! Even if it files out! And the case handles scratches well, its harder to see scratches on case. I'd say go with that if you can't find an arm band.
GO WINGS!!!!!

I remember seeing an armband made for the droid X and i was considering getting it but I don't like to take mine out of the case much and it only fits a naked X/X2 so i decided against it (i carry mine in my hand while jogging)

You can make you own I guess. Get the elastic bands and stuff.
Tapin' the Talk on the xSquared
I was using a modified iPhone armband (had to cut slits a little bit) until I put a case on the X2 ... now I have to pocket it. :-\
Arm Band-Droid X & X2
I own one of these arm bands..works great, the band will hold the Droid X & X2, the phone slips down inside the clear covering, with very little extra space, I do have the thin black slip-on case that Verizon sales, but anything any larger will not work..The band is made very well, nice stitching, large Velcro strap, durable buckles, I would recommend this band to anyone, as long as you understand, No Kraken's, or Cyclops's..LOL
Go to EBay and search the description I have below
Sport Armband Case for Motorola Droid 2 3 X2 X Bionic XT875 Targa RAZR HD XT910
Hope this helps someone..lol

Thanks, Ive already ordered it.
Take a look at the Trident cases..I have the Otterbox's put them back in the box, and now in storage..the hard buttons are even harder..the frame is to close to the screen, in portriat mode, the Q & P keys are difficult to reach..I now have the Trident Kraken2 Blue /Red on two of my DroidX2's and a Cyclops on one of my DroidX's and about to order a CyclopsII for my fourth phone..I'd be glad to post pictures here or email..The Trident's are without a doubt superior to the OutterBox's..they (Outterbox) may have a newer model that I haven't used..BUT even if they do..it would have to be a mimic/copy of anything Trident has..

Ive looked at a few Trident cases and they are no doubt rock solid in design, but I really dont like how they're shaped. Ive seen nothing but bulky ones. But Im sure there is some super sleek and smexy case that I might like. But before I do any of that, Ill have to give Otterbox its due attention.
Thanks for the link!

I second this. I have a Kraken Trident case on my Droid X2, and it's nothing short of incredible.
Well I'm on the fence about Trident cases right now. My lady had one for her Galaxy S and I personally thought it was a little flimsy, especially for the $30 she paid for it. The only thing I like about it was the built in screen protector.
I hate big bulky looking cases so I usually go for an extra thick rubber one. I was looking at their PERSEUS case for my X2 and it looked cheesy with those huge face buttons on it. So I went with the Otterbox Impact case instead.
I just bought the Trident Aegis from Amazon $9 otd. Can't wait for delivery. Have the OtterBox Commuter & don't like the fit at all. I was very pro OtterBox, loved it on my Eris. But the OtterBox for the X/X2 is a sad design.
Amazon seller canceled the Aegis. So now I got a Black Motorola Droid X2 Incipio SILICRYLIC Hard Shell Case w/ Silicone Inner core.
... Try to do a full review of the aegis? The kraken/electra are the main top Trident cases around here, never even heard of the aegis yet (about to look into it)
~Edit ewww its the skinny version of the Electra, i totally prefer the original kraken if im not using a massive 3500-3800 mah battery. I like the kraken design way better
I kinda wish I would have looked more into the Kraken. The Otterbox on my X2 limits dragging from one homescreen to another and access to some of the keys.
I just got the Black Motorola Droid X2 Incipio SILICRYLIC Hard Shell Case w/ Silicone Inner core. I had the OtterBox Commuter case, sold it. Didn't like how the OtterBox fit, it was terrible, sad really. Had the commuter for my Eris & it rocked. Only thing about the Incipio so far is the stand is useless. Got it on fleabay $6. Highly recommend it. Oh & unlike the OtterBox & many other X2 cases it is strictly for the X2. No stupid X camera button.
Hey everyone,
I recently swapped my rezound with the third cracked screen for a razr maxx.
Work is brutal to my phone and its seems that at any time it could be crushed by stretcher dropped on pavement left in a wrecked car etc etc.
I am only looking for one full time case and am torn between these trident cases
http://www.tridentcase.com/case/motorola/motorola-droid-razr.html
and the otter box
Has anyone used both?
Any input is welcome including other recommendations
Thank you
I have the Razr OG. I never looked at any other cases besides the Invincible shield but that is not a case but a military grade plastic that covers the whole phone. I am using the Outer Box Commander. That is a great case. It has a hard plastic cover with a screen protector in it and then rubber around the plastic. It makes the phone thick but it is protected. The belt click is great and stays on your belt. If you do not have it on your belt, it will fall off. I have had my phone in the clip on my belt and ran with it. It did not fall off or move. I also rode with it on my crotch rocket and it was fine too. It is $50 I think but well worth it. If you use the phone a lot, it does get warmer and faster. A lot of layers on the phone. That case would be the best for your job. I am going to school to me a diesel mechanic and I have had zero problems with it. I do take the phone out of the case and clean it. Remember, the more you take it out of the click, it will wear out. I have had the case since February.
Thank you.

Basic diference between these cases are the sdcard/micro sim access, wich is not present in otter cases for razr. At least not in the comutter case.
Both are very similar in build material and specs. So..
Cheers
I work 911 law enforcement, and just recently got a razr maxx after leaving my iphone 4.
For my iphone I had the otterbox defender case. That phone took a beating getting dropped, and slammed to the ground. Never cracked the phone or really put any scratches on it.
So if otterbox has a defender line for the razr, I would go with that.

I personally own the trident case "kracken" the advantage the otter has over this one is the quality of the belt clip with it, otherwise I feel trident case beats it in every other department.
Sent from my DROIDRAZR using xda premium
I'm.stuck on which one i want. Like color choices on trident and the quality looks good besides the corners on trident not really protected that where phone mainly shatter if hit on corner and the belt clip looks bad on trident. I like fact that the SD card is accessible but how often do you change it. So my choice I think will be otterbox defender.

Buy the Trident and if you don't like it swap me for the Otterbox lol, I have a Otterbox Defender for my Maxx and it's just sitting around right now. I like it but don't need the bulk so it's just a added accessory
**Although it does look like those are Regular Razr cases and doesn't mention the Maxx, it is a little thicker so I'm not sure if the regular Razr cases would fit a Maxx right**
just bought the trident kraken its an excellent case doesnt feel cheap protects the screen also. i recommend it. i also like the fact the it has a metal replaceable kickstand and the many attachments that you can use with it like a tripod stand and the bicycle mount for the handle bar. All connectors are protected but accessible including the sd card and sim. Also,it looks bad ass with the carbon fiber finish on the back of the case.

They don't, the chick at the verizon store didn't realize she grabbed the standard razr commuter case and couldn't understand why the fit wasn't right, ended up having to get it off amazon as they didn't have any for the maxx so the defender series having the plastic on the inside definitely wouldn't work.
I've always used Otterbox and also work at a store that sells both. More people come back because their Trident case was either too bulky or broke.
Otterbox is a better choice imo
*edit*
I have a Commuter and Defender case for my RAZR and I mostly use the Defender because I display it at work by throwing it or something.
I too work in EMS as a paramedic. Not sure of the equivalency in the states? I have been at it for over teen years and I've not broken a phone yet. Definitely haven't left one in a car wreck. I'm getting my RAZR today (hopefully) and I have the ultra case by sgp. It only adds 2mm to the the phone and has complete coverage up to the screen. I haven't tested yet obviously, but just from holding and inspecting it I would say it's great quality.

Here's my EMS story, enjoy fellas.
Even EMT's have emergencies...
I still can't believe this happened so I thought I'd share my tale of woe with you guys. First off I just bought this phone and its the best Android phone I've had to date, its simply awesome! So here goes,I am an emergency medical technician an was on shift last night when it happened. Last night I was responding to an emergency at a stadium during a track meet,as we got closer I began to hear murmurs from the nearby crowd that it looks to be a cardiac related incident. So I don't normally recommend this but in this case the shortest distance between us and our patient was a small 5 foot high chain link fence. I decided it would be prudent to reach our apparently collapsed patient as soon as possible. So over I went, but during my steady yet determined climb over the fence to get to my patient something went bad. I heard as scary yet recognizable sound behind me. It was the all to familiar sound of something smacking the surface of the concrete. Something in me knew instantly what it was. As fear and hesitancy welled up inside of me,I turned my gaze if only to look for just a brief moment. It was then that my eyes fell upon my brand new,not 20 hours old razr maxxface first on the unforgiving pavement. It had apparently taken a dive at the apexof my climb. I quickly retrieved it, stuffed it into my pocket and went on with my business. It was only till after the emergency transpired that I removed it from my pocket to find that the screen was completely shattered! Something inside of me screamed and writhed in anguish,as the proverbial wave of disappointment settled over me.
So here I sit this morning preparing to fill out the claim affidavit to asurion. When all I keep thinking about is now i'm going to get stuck with a used phone in return,to bide me through the next 2 years of my recently renewed contact with Verizon.
It was a sad day....
P.s. The lesson learned here is buy a case immediately after buying a new phone.

I love my commuter case,as I keep my phone in my pocket, but for an EMT I would recommend the Defender case as it can be placed in the belt clip screen first creating a full "shell" around the phone saving the screen from those falls described by others above, the commuter looks like it would save the screen on falls onto flat surfaces, but give it some rocky conditions and I wouldn't expect it to.
Personally no case is more durable than seidio. Fit and finish. Snug. No looseness. I have seen countless otter box and trident cases and when I owned my evo, anyone that had a rugged case wanted that one. I actually would demo it by dropping it 3 feet directly on concrete. Many different times. I trusted it.

Don't fret. My screen cracked yesterday from a short fall. I had a simple gel case on it. Obviously not enough to protect it. Filled out the claim last night online, and received a brand new Razr Maxx this afternoon! - that's right... NEW! And in less than 24 hours! Based on a few comments/recommendations about my woes in the General Section "Gorilla Glass my A$$", I made sure to put an Otter Box Commuter on it as soon as it came out of the box.

I picked up an Otter Box commuter case right away too. Fantastic! Its light and makes the phone a little easier to hold. Got it for around $25 on amazon.

Side note if you paid more then like 35 bucks for an otterbox (defender or commuter) you overpaid and should return it and get your money back, then go to amazon and get one (I say this cause I saw someone say they paid 60 dollars for the defender case).
Just got my Maxx yesterday with the defender case (25% discount with corporate) and it really is a nice case. Really does a great job of protecting the phone. I also ordered the commuter from amazon for $22 plus shipping.

GET THE TRIDENT AEGIS from ebay! i got mine fore $22 and its already saved me twice. Once i left the phone in my lap and as i got out of the car, the phone landed faceflat on the cement. NO DAMAGE! second it dropped out my hands right onto the corner. This case is the ****!
has anyone found or have a legit known good arm band for the phone? Im looking for one that is MADE for the lte EVO so it never has a risk of falling out while running.
Just got the one from iArmbands. Without a case, the phone goes in well but the flap at the top is a bit tight to wrap over the phone. I use the Seidio Surface case, and while I can get the phone into the band, it takes a bit of struggling with that flap.
Without a case, the phone is actually a bit too narrow for this armband. With a case the phone is the right width, but the height is a bit short. The screen is controllable through the clear cover in either case.

thanks for posting that site its really good! very cheap items! they have my TPU case on there for 10 bucks when i bought it for 18! =p
I ended up getting the iArmbands case for HTC phones in Otterbox cases. If you go to their site they have the model number there. It fits great with my Otterbox Commuter. It even fit my nephew's Droid Razr Maxx in an Otterbox Defender.
The only thing I don't like is that the armband itself isn't elastic and is very short. I contacted iArmbands about this and they recommended an extender from one of their competitors. I will check the name and add a follow up post.
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
Ah TuneBelt was what they recommended. They are only a $1.75 on Amazon. Had I known I would have bought one with the case.
One other note, I had to cut the case for the headphone cable as the holes do not align.
TuneBelt has a case that is made for large phones like the Evo 4G LTE in Otterbox and Seido cases. I am tempted to buy that with the extender just to see how well it works. It wouldn't hurt to have a spare in the car in case I forget to throw it in my gym bag.

Thanks, yeah, it took lots of digging for me to finally decide which one to get. I was a little hesitant b/c of the model number difference as well.
According to the descriptions on Amazon:
AB85 - Maximum size: Length: 5.5 inches; Circumference (2X width plus 2X depth) up to 7.75 inches.
AB86 - Maximum length: 5.4" - Maximum circumference (2X width plus 2X depth): 6.5". Design not intended for smartphones with protective cases. See models AB84 or AB85 for those needs.
I emailed them as well, and although they were prompt with responses, they weren't all that helpful so I just went by what was on the description.
I just ran a race recently and saw a runner with an actual belt-type case for her iPhone. I'd really like something like that, it's almost like a tiny fanny pack with the phone sitting lengthwise at the small of the back. I have an old Tune Belt for a CD player that's this style, I was hoping they made one for phones.

I have been looking for a good windshield mount for my Droid Razr Maxx for a while and i cant seem to find one that i like. I don't want any that come with any connectors, i just want it to hold the phone. I want a flexible neck, not 2 ball joints. I also want something that will not interfere with the volume or power buttons (i don't care about having access to them, i just don't want the holder to be pressing on them) and i want to be able to rotate the phone on its side. I would also like the ability to use front and rear cameras so i need something that wont block them.
Do you guys have any suggestions?
well i bought the moto car dock on amazon for about 30 bucks. granted it isnt a flexible neck, and it has the power connector, but man I really like it. I also looked and i could attach its cradle to various other bases at Best buy so you might be able to get a flexible neck one there. all buttons and cameras are free and unobstructed on the phone when docked as well.
Thanks man. I didnt know that the Motorola dock was detachable. Is it one of those that has 4 slots on the back and you just slide it up in order to remove it?

I was in the market for a car dock too for my maxx. Mine has a otterbox commuter though so I bought a arkon dock off amazon and it works great! I also have an Arkon universal dock (see page here), it does not interfere with the buttons at all, you are able to charge it and use headphone cable if you need to, you can also turn it to use it in landscape mode for navigation or something. I've been using a SlipGrip window mount for the last couple of months and really like it. Build is of good quality-very sturdy, totally adjustable. It's built specifically for this phone in this case but they make many others for other make/model/case combinations. It fits my Razr with the Defender case on it perfectly. All the buttons and ports are accessible. There's even a hole for the camera lens if you need to shoot video while driving.
Highly recommended.

OK, so i got the Motorola Razr Maxx car dock from Amazon. I freaking love it.
The issue i had was that if the dock was mounted on the windshield it need a long neck so it can be mounted really low on the windshield so it doesn't interfere with my view. So i did manage to get the round disk that comes with this to stick on the curvy dashboard and ended up mounting it there just above the radio.
*Buttons and Cameras not obstructed at all
*Solid construction
*Easy dock un-dock
The one issue that i have is that if i plug in the usb cable to my stereo unit's (Pioneer AVH-P1400DVD) and the on the dock, when i dock my phone wont charge. If i plug it straight to the phone it charges. If i plug the dock on the cigarette lighter 1.5Amp charger it works fine. I'm guessing the dock incrases the resistance and the unit doesnt have enough juice to power it. i will investigate some more and i will let you know.
i had a pretty bad experience with the original motorola dock.
after only a few days in the car it got completely deformed by the heat of the sun...thats just cr*p.

The slip grip also sells for the defender case I should get paid to advertise for them haha. But mine just works so well. And the arkon is crap. It's laying on floor of my truck.

Left my phone on top of the car. Heard a thud as I was driving and my heart sank as I remembered I left my phone on the roof of the car. Went running down the road as I was sure it fell somewhere on the road. Couldn't find it so ran back to my car, there it was on my back windshield, stuck to it. It rolled over onto the face of the phone and it gripped onto the back windshield like a suction cup almost. I am highly impressed!! Thought for sure that my RAZR would have been smashed on the road or driven over. I am a customer of Trident Aegis for life now. I would highly recommend getting one if you are looking for a great case!

I have a similar story posted on the otter box website in relation to their commuter case. I was at work and placed my phone on the roof of a dump bed truck. After driving down the road a ways I heard a similar thud and actually saw my brand new smart phone slide between the truck and the bed through the back glass, and then skitter down the road before stopping in a drainage ditch. Thank god for tough cases to protect our phones!
