Why I often have run out of memory on the latest flyer honeycomb? I have tried flyhoney and mwakious, but all is the same!
What is the best solution for memory management application for Flyer Honeycomb?
I believe that Dolphin HD browser become trouble because of low memory too. Can you share about the same problem too?
Thank you for all your help.
This is the first report of low memory I have ever seen on the Flyer. It has gobs of memory. 1GB of Ram. Are you talking about low Ram or low internal SD card?
Is it tasker telling you that? It's lying. It tells me all the time. On everything

Oh thanks aostl. Yes, tasker give me low memory warning frequently, which is not happened on flyer gingerbread.

Ignore tasker and look at what settings says.

Well one would be how come as the longer my phone runs even with taskillers I start off with like 500 megs of free space but as the day go on it slowly goes down it got down to like 200 megs even with taskiller anybody ideas just wondering

Because ram is a cache.
It stores/loads the frequently used apps in memory so that you can access them quickly when you need.
It is just how it is supposed to work.
You do not need free memory for smooth operation. If the memory is already loaded with app you would be using then this approach will give you faster response than a memory free from any apps.
Do not care much about free memory, those apps are just residing in the memory, so that you can access them faster when you use.
Autokiller requires root...

I might have a stupid question, but nevertheless, where is the 4gb rom? I see that I have about 800mb ram and 1gb for storage plus the sd card, but where is the 4gb rom? Thanks.

That would be your 1gb. The system ate up a lot of it.

No, I'm not happy to see you, that's a Shooter in my pocket.
3D speed
Wondering how the speed compares to the 4G?
Way faster than og evo rooted and all, that 4gb was ate up by all these fancy dancy widgets and doohickies
Bussin Caps from my 3D shooter
it was my understanding that you had 1gb of free space but there was 1gb reserved for future rom updates....
rom updates...
waiting to be able to put on a Fresh Rom
So what you guys are saying is that I still need to move apps to the SD card? That's interesting. Its like the 4gig doesn't even matter. I must say that while I do like how everything is, I really don't use any of the widgets. Is there any way to clear them out without root?

3GB reserved for weather animations. hehehe
Your saying 1gb of space isn't enough space for your apps? Impossible. Moving them to the SD card is completely unnecessary unless you have like 400 apps.

I actually kno someone that had that many apps
Bussin Caps from my 3D shooter
4 GB ROM
This is the first time that I heard of ROM. As I understand it, ROM includes the space needed for the system to operate with additional space left over that you can use???
Can someone explain to me the situation with the internal storage on the Evo3D?
1. WHat is the actual total amount of internal storage in the Evo3D? I've heard
1GB, 4GB & 8GB....which is it?
2. If it is 4GB's or 8GB's, is there a way to access extra storage space?
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
I think internal is 4gb 1.2ish for apps and like 1gb for rom... Idk.. i'd like to know this as well the real breakdown on internal storage...

1.2 available, the rest is owned by the system. I am SURE somebody will get custom MTD going to free up the unused portion of the 2.8 allocated that is actually vacant space. Especially once we have ROMs that are 75mb vs. 250-400mb
If we could get the rest for apps... Apps2sd is not really needed... Right now i have like 200 apps and am a little over 750mb... I think it will take a while to fill the rest but i wouldnt mind some peace of mind..

Thanks for the input guys. glad to see im not the only one wondering about this.
So I noticed that the lte shows less ram then the 3D anyone know why this is? Thought lte had more

If it is like in the computer world I would guess more of it is going to the GPU or other components in the phone.

Though it says that there is so much of the RAM being "used" in reality only a portion is actually being used. There are many programs that are dormit in memory waiting for you to execute them, by remaining dormit in memory they can run much faster, its in a way caching.
Now if you want to control that, download AutoKiller Memory from the Play Store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5ycy5hdXRva2lsbGVyIl0.) and you can adjust the way the Kernel manages the dormit apps and free physical memory. Please read the help and the Dev's website for more understanding of the tool and the way Android manages the RAM.
Yeah, it's probably allotted for something else.
I noticed this with the Sense 4 ROMS for the 3D. All of a sudden had like 200mb total of missing RAM by flashing the ROM.
I just upgraded to EVO LTE and is very nice its fast quick beautiful screen very smooth but can't figure out what's is using my ram I'm using 400 and have mabe 270 left to used but when I combine those it doesnt equal 1gb of ram

htc sense use ram also i don't know how much but it's alot. Don't worry about the ram cause the system will end whatever you have open and not using to make more ram.

I think the gpu probably uses some too which might be why it didn't add up to 1024mb

Possibly, but when I add my used and unused ram together I only come up with
660 which is way short or 1gb ram

I think I remember the EVO 3d with more ram. Like 720 something.
Well, there are plenty of hidden system settings. The number that you see in Task Manager or Settings is how much RAM that can be used for anything. The ram you do not see available is being used by things that are UNABLE to be removed from RAM because they are essential to the system running. That is the reason why we see nothing close to 1GB.same thing goes for computers, you can either see Installed Memory or you can see Usable Memory. Installed Memory on LTevo would be 1GB and Usable Memory on Stock would be around 670MB(IIRC) for me.

I see now it makes more sense now

I noticed this also, coming from the EVO 3d (also with 1gb of ram) vs the 4gLTE. IIRC the 3d shows 804mb total vs 680mb. I figured it had to do with the 3d running gingerbread/sense 3.5 vs the 4gLTE running ICS/sense 4.0. My friend who has a galaxy nexus also with 1gb of ram, shows around the same amount of ram in the task manager.. either way I am absolutely amazed with this phone, not one issue or hiccup so far..
