I ordered my original TF from Frys back in June and they were one of the few online retailers that actually had stock... I'm thinking I'll pre-order here as well.
Just an FYI. Fry's have restocking fees (hopefully you'll love it and not want to return it). And the Tempe AZ store have real a-holes working customer service.
I just called Fry's. The good news is they have somebody answering the phones this late. The bad news is the guy said he has no idea when they are supposed to get the TFP in stock or when they are supposed to ship. He seemed to be looking through their system for an answer but couldn't find one.
I got a preorder in at bestbuy for the 32gb model also. Now on the bestbuy website it says coming soon instead of preorder.

Given that Fry's is one of the sites that is still listing a preorder, I find it curious that so few seem to have preordered from them.
Not saying our chances will be any better with them, but they can't be worse than a smaller operation like Adorama can they?

Thanks for the heads up about the restocking fee, I don't remember seeing that before. Oops. I don't like restocking fees, but I don't know if I can bring myself to cancel this preorder. Too possible that it's the one that comes through.

How long until Gamestop starts telling us "next year" I wonder.
With the TF 101 Rollout, Frys was the first retailer I recall to get inventory on the shelf for local pickup.
I preordered my 32gb champagne transformer through Frys earlier today with 'Overnight' shipping, order status says "Order Being Processed".
Frys will likely get a good amount of stock the same time every other online retailer does. I'm pretty confident that they'll ship before christmas.

Full price personally. I'm assuming Amazon isn't getting as many as they initially thought which is why they are canceling many orders. Possibly why they aren't listed on Asus' preorder page as well as why they stopped taking orders before everyone else.

Everyones orders whose has been canceled are removed from their history. You can reference your original email or the one they sent stating it was canceled. Again I suspsect they aren't receiving a whole lot of initial shipment and probably decided it best to let people re-order on a first come first serve basis once they do. Hence why they stopped taking orders and their product pages aren't even visible without originally having the url.

Freaking amazon just emailed me and said that I can preorder the prime again tonight midnight pst. At first I thought it was for ordering...but it said pre-order. No telling when I'm going to get that ****. After they screw me over....Would I still check it out....damn it...I would. I'm desperate right now. Gamestop better have that **** tomorrow. If you don't get your gamestop orders by today, or the latest 23 then cancel it. No point in paying TAX for it when amazon has no tax. Unless you live in california I suppose.

I re-pre-ordered from amazon last night I just did it quick and did not really pick a shipping. I just changed my shipping to 1 day shipping and it gave me free 1 day shipping so everyone who as not selected 1 day shipping may want to give it a shot could be totally free.

They are admitting to screwing up: "We wanted to let you know your order for Transformer TF201-B1-GR (10.1-Inch Screen) Tablet was inadvertently canceled by our system. We're very sorry about this. "
Bring me the head of the one who inadvertently canceled our orders, yea verily.
Btw, check your original order number (from Nov 22/23), and you'll notice that it's the same order number from this morning - if you re-re-re-pre-ordered...

ASUS isn't silent at all. Here's what they said to Engadget:
ASUS started filling the inventory pipelines this past week for our new Eee Pad Transformer Prime and will continue to do so on an expedited basis for the foreseeable future. We will reach normal inventory levels in January for the North American market based on current orders and forecasts. Based on forecasted supply schedules to our valued partners we expect pre-order allocation fulfillment to occur shortly and online or in-store availability in the very near future. I used Amazon checkout and got an email instantly with an order number. Their Amazon ratings are actually quite high, which makes me feel better. The CSR did say that they were going extremely fast and when I just checked their page it doesn't come up anymore, so I think I may be good!

Certainly can't complain on the price. I'll keep my fingers crossed, but expectations are not particularly high.

If its a legit retail store I dont think you got scammed. They're probably just unorganized. Just like the Fry's in California. I love that store but I cant trust them to get my orders straight.
I ordered immediately after seeing this post yesterday and chose the google checkout option. I received a Google order number but not an Electronics Express one immediately.
This morning, I called them to check if by some 'Christmas Miracle' I was lucky enough to order on time. They couldn't look my order up by number, so they asked the model number. My heart sank when he came back and said, " I'm very sorry sir, but it looks like we will be cancelling this order, we had more than 79 orders come in immediately and don't have that many in stock yada yada and so on."
So I replied, "Ok please cancel my order then."
He then said, "We will automatically sir, and we will send you an email to notify you when we do."
I already have a pre-order in at amazon from when they re-opened ordering on Monday, so I was expecting to have to wait 'till late Jan when I received this this evening:

Unfortunately for me though, I had my google checkout address set to my old house (moved across town in July), so I'll have to figure out how to reroute it or hold it.

Yep. My tracking number from EE/Fed-Ex says 12/23.
I have an EE order number, but it says processing on their website. The funds are on hold in my bank account, so I'm hoping that they're just waiting for it to clear before shipping. I used amazon checkout btw.

Man, if Best Buy actually ships these things to people who ordered today, and don't honor their offer to switch backordered Champagne models to Grey and ship those first, I'm going to be PISSED. Yes, I'm posting this in two threads, but that just shows how pissed I am. I NEVER cross-post. Or rarely.

Man, I feel for yah. Had a similar deal with Office Depot shipping out units to people that odered well after me while I was on backorder. If I cancel my order, someone else will just grab it up though.

You all realize you just ordered from the company that has about 100 pages talking about how stated delivery dates are pretty much meaningless. I wouldn't cancel other pre-orders until you have a tracking number. It's hard to believe BB cleaned up their act in 72 hours.

My boss actually gave me an Ipad2 yesterday as a xmas bonus but I sold it last night and used that plus an extra 50 bucks to order at Bestbuy.com. I hate paying for taxes but Amazon taking too damn long!!! Thanks for heads up.

THANK you VERY MUCH. I just ordered two GREY 32 GB PRIMES from Best Buy which will be delivered on Wednesday 12/28 using your link. One of these is for a friend. This is my 5th order for the PRIME I will need to look at cancelling the other 3 (2 from Amazon and 1 from GameStop).
