You can format your SD card if you chose factory reset in STOCK recovery

Hello.
I just got an HTC Hero, and I've faced the problem of lack of space already.
So I read about this app, unaware I would need it (naive of me), while I was downloading the VillainRom v13, to replace the VillainRom v12 I had.
I flashed it succesfully. I installed the apps I had before. But now, unfortunately, I'm running low on internal space.
How can I move application to the SD card? Is there a tutorial that explains me how to do it for my phone and rom?
How can I determine if my SD card is fast enough?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
to move applications just go to settings>applications>manage applications and click on which ever app you want to move to sd card. Once you click on the app it'll go to a page which will allow you to move your app to the sd. Usually class 4+ SDs are fast enough
The question is that I have tried that... But I don't have that option!
I believe it is because I'm on the 2.1 rom, instead of 2.2, and that option was only introduced in 2.2.
welll, im not sure how to do it without wiping and starting all over again but,
if you make a nandroid.. then backup your sd card onto your computer(including the nandroid backup)
you could go into your recovery image and partition your sd card, swap - 32mb, ext2 - 512mb and fat32 the rest (it takes you through those settings step by step)
then wipe factory reset/all data and wipe your dalvik cache
then flash your rom (double check that the rom has a2sd).. and the rom will do the work for you!
i just did this with wildhero... its the only rom im 100% sure will do the a2sd for you

I was struggling with this aswell
The thing is my ClockWork Mod doesn't have that formatting option...
Does VR13 support A2SD natively? I believe so.
I use HTC HD2, Android on SD card, don't know how to use A2SD ?
Now i use Swapper2 to set Swap file.

[Q] Clean install of Omega series v 13

Clean Slate for those that balls up the firmware
Backup data first if phone is working .
Boot CWM recovery
Mounts and Storage
Format cache data system sd card .
Remove battery
Boot to download mode
Open Odin
Install correct stock firmware .
Root and install custom rom .
jje
Thank you for your reply.
I'll try it and post the result.
It didn't work, still have system data from the previous gingerbread ROM
Found it, what i needed is Hard reset
Thank you
If you wiped sd card more so if you formatted sd card data cache and system you should not be able to boot as sd card is empty no rom no os no nothing .
Hence flash stock rom via Odin that will wipe again anything on the phone .
jje
It's look that u have alot of things on the internal stroage.
download from the playstore "DiskUsage" for free and start to delete things =]

[Q] Installing criskelo room please help

Hi there
Using ARHD 9.0 at the mom but would like to try the criskelo latest.
When i installed the ARHD i followed the instruction and placed the Rom file on my EXT sd card, then proceded on superwipe which removed everything on my INTERN SD card, and then installed the rom from my EXT sd card which remained intact... so far so goog!
Now on Crickelo instruction they say to save the Rom on my INTERN sd card, go into recovery nandroid etc.. and then WIPE DATA FACTORY RESET + WIPE CACHE PARTITION + DANS ADVANCED/WIPE DALVIK CACHE...
Will i not loose everything on my INTERN sd card if i do so included my saved Rom? Isn't wipe data factory reset like superwipe?
Sorry just a bit confused here and any help will be appreciated
Thanks you
Wipe data/ factory reset in recovery doesn't wipe phone internal memory. Just proceed as instructed by the OP.
Accident do happens. Backup important files is always recommended

[Q] Can't access Internal SD after rooting.

Hi there, I'm new to this whole thing and I think I may have bricked my SGS2 but I'm not sure :/
Apologies in advance if any of my terms are incorrect!
Okay, so I was wanting to install the AOKP Jelly Bean Build 4 onto my S2.
Everything was going fine, I managed to install the ClockWordMod 4.0.0.2 onto the phone and do all the Odin Stuff.
I then put the phone into Recovery mode and then proceeded with the factory reset and then the cache partition wipe
and then the Dalvik cache.
What I didn't realise I had to do was to have the custom ROM on the internal SD. Being the n00b I am
I automatically thought that by "place custom ROM on SD" they meant to put it on my external SD card.
I can't seem to access the ROM zip file on the external SD and was wondering how I could get it onto my internal one?
I have two questions
1. Is there any way I can install the custom Jelly Bean ROM using the external SD memory? [As I don't have the ROM on my internal SD]
2. If not, is there any way I can access my Internal SD anymore because the computer is not recognising it.
3. If that's not possible either, is there any way I can restart everything from scratch, or reinstall an OS to use? LOL.
I am sorry if this isn't clear at all, any help would be appreciated guys! Please and Thank You
Factory reset from within ROM.
hi, it happened to when i finished flashing CM10.1 for my Samsung Galaxy W. what i did was i did Factory Data Reset from within the ROM and tick the "Erase SD card" box. After my phone reboot i finally can access the internal sd. thank God.
Update CWM to a newer one ... This will enable install zip from internal/external sd card
Tou can reinstall the os with odin stock rom from sammobile
Send from my SGS2 I9100 with PACMAN ROM and latest DorimanX 8.xx kernel
you may need to format it.

[Q] Noob - Utterly Confused

Hi everyone, new to the forum and I hope that my (likely) simple question is easy to answer!
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2, that was running the stock ROM at 4.1.2. I rooted the phone using the Odin tool, which worked first time, and I then proceeded to use ClockWorkMod (latest version I think) to flash a custom 4.3 Rom to the device (after taking a backup of the EFS folder to SD Card and my PC).
That has worked perfectly. I am loving 4.3.
The issue I have is internal storage.
When I did the custom rom install, I did:-
Wipe Data/Factory Reset
Wipe Cache Partition
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Format System
I then installed the custom ROM and latest GApps and all is good.
What is curious, and I just cannot seem to explain, is that the internal storage when I was on the stock ROM, reported I have over 6GB free, and now that I have gone over to the custom ROM, I have around 2GB free.
For me, that seems strange that I have lost 4GB of internal storage just for this ROM update.
I had assumed that the Data/Factory Reset and Format System would clear out all the rubbish ready for a clean install of the Custom ROM - but that does not appear to be the case.
How do I go about resetting my device so that I can clear down the internal storage to the extent that I can regain the lost space?
Any help is really appreciated.
Mark.

I would say, try to establish if the rom had 4GB of extra data or not initially. How much bigger was the custom rom compared to the stock rom?
If you have busybox or TerminalIDE installed ( hope you have!) , try running "du -a / | sort -n -r | head -n 30" and see if you can find any particularly large files, or directories that seem extremely bloated and compare them to the stock rom.
What are you using to determine how much disk space you have free? Windows via usb? df via terminal?
