[Q] HELP! Problems after flashing the Goldenleaf Kernel BFS v18a / BFS v18c - Optimus One, P500, V General

Help me, please. I just flashed my Optimus One with Goldenleaf kernel BFS v18c yesterday and it wasn't as good as it is reviewed by the users. It did not boost my performance, doesn't make my battery last longer, doesn't have a better gaming performance and what's worst is :
My camera stopped working.
Everytime I restart my phone, it asked me to force close setting.
It always doesn't read my sd card completely.
My gallery stopped working too.
I cannot connect my phone to the computer anymore. (it does nothing but only charge)
A black and white screen (like those in the television when you does not have signal) appears everytime i try to unlock.
The keyboard reacts vey slowly.
It doesn't auto rotate anymore. (Let's just say it doesn't rotate at all anymore.
So this morning i was trying to "un-flash" the kernel to the old stock kernel and flash it again with another kernel but couldn't find anything in the internet. I got angry and just flashed it with the new kernel (Goldenleaf BFS v18a) without "un-flashing" it first. I flashed it with Goldenleaf BFS v18a because i thought the older version might be more stable.
After i flashed it with Goldenleaf BFS v18a, the same thing still continue to happen.
I couldn't find anything in the internet. I don't know what to do, can anyone help me, please ?! Your help is very much appreciated.

When you flash a kernel different to the default rom, the only way to get back to that default rom kernel is to reflash the rom, in your case my best bet is your using cm7 6.5.8. That being said the latest updated franco kernel is cfs 19.2. Somethings wrong with the brain **** scheduler (bfs)..your best bet, reflash everything and start from scratch, do your backups than wipe everything in recovery, before I ever flash a rom or kernel..I always wipe cache and dalvik cache than flash than wipe cache/dalvik cache..the most important lesson is knowing a .32 kernel (goldenleaf, franco 19.2) are designed for .32 roms ,you can't mix a 35 kernel with 32 RIM or you'll end in a bootlop...read everything you can before you flash anything because those problems you say your experiencing I never once had myself.. don't expect gold, franco and fserve work there asses off trying to her good kernels out. To recap: either use fserves goldenleaf or francos cfs 19.2 but restart everything before you do, get a clean slate...inbox me if you got the same problems, alot of devs are tied up at the moment

Can you show me a step by step tutorial? I'm really bad in this. I took 2 days to root my phone, that's how bad i am. And one more thing, it doesn't auto apply my Golauncher theme which i had moved to SD card when i turned it on and the keyboard reacts very slowly.

thanks for solving

MIUI/CM7 power usage issue/Kernel

I have had power drain issues on both of these roms
Essentially, I am using up the battery way too quickly. Thought if I flashed the Bali kernel that may help solve, but it will not flash. So here are my questions:
1. Trying to flash the Bali kernel it is hanging on the MIUI screen and will not continue. Is there something I need to do to make it flash or is there another UV kernel I can use if so, which ?
2. I left my phone unplugged last night to test the power drain and lost 40% while the phone is in idle (normal before was 5-10%). What is contributing to this ? the Gallery ? or what? any recommendations would be appreciated.
3. 2 more weeks and Ill have the Hercules but I still want to make this work ...
Need more information. A lot more information.
What ROM? MIUI, or Energy Revamped MIUI? What Version? Did you follow all the steps? Even the ones you didn't think mattered? Is this your first flash of MIUI? Did you start from stock? Did you start from Gingerbread? Did you do a wipe? Did you wipe cache and dalvik and fix permissions? What version of Bali did you use? Did you try to use Bali with the latest MIUI (new kernel, not yet compatible)?
Etc etc etc. We need more information.

The 9-23-version which is why Bali is not working, it does not work on the latest version. I have loaded both cm7 and MIUI for months and this is the first that has had this issue. I have addressed everything I can think of I have nothing running in the back ground other than the the standard TSR programs(which until now) has never been an Issue. I have not customized anything to add to the drain. As for starting point, I had Odin back to stock then, flashed the bootloader per their directions, so none of that is an issue, Bali will not load even after a clean stock flash and the script cleaning kernel flash, so that is why I was asking,:
Is there something I need to know to do, consider this I have flashed MIUI and CM7 30 + times with no issue until this latest version, I am not a rookie, just wondering if there are few other thing ppl know that are unique to this setup.

[Q] MIUI and GLitch Touchkey Issues

I have searched fairly thoroughly on this and have yet to see even one post. I am on MIUI 1.10.28.1 and *trying* Glitch v.12. (although I did try with older versions of both to no avail). My touchkeys become completely non-functional upon install of the Glitch kernal with MIUI. If I leave it with the stock kernal---no issues. But I know the Glitch runs much more efficient and want to use that one.
Has anyone had this problem occur? Just to note, I'm not talking about BLN, but total functionality. Makes it a real pain to use your phone of you cant go back a screen.
did you wipe cache and dalvik in cwm before flashing glitch?
On top of the cache wipes, I also use Kernel Cleaner script, before flashing.
I'm using JTs 1016 Kernel on Miui right now.
I have done BOTH of those to no avail. I am so confused by this...
If you can afford it, try the glitch kernel updater app: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.glitch.updater
it will give you gltich v13 which fixed that issue.

GS2 XWPL7 random restart/shutoff

Anyone getting random restarts/shutoff on XWPL7. I'm on Siyad kernel v3.1rc5 and heard that is good but battery life sucks and wifi doesn't turn on sometimes. Kinda regret going to ICS this early.
Stock LP7, none of those issues.
Upgrade to XWLP8 and latest siyahkernel 3.1.1
Issues are solved....well I have no issues.
Otherwise boot into cwm recovery, wipe cache, Dalvik, fix permissions,... helps for some. Other report that problem returns.
Edit: battery life: clear any boot scripts and, use the "battery" profile found on siyahkernel cwm kernel menu. This enables 3 step gpu and gpu UV. Also users battery friendly governor ondemand (siyah modded) with deadline scheduler.

funny! people use custom kernels without tring the officil thing and than the whole OS is crap.
wifi issue doesn't look kernel dependent... see

[Q] Am I Being Thick? Kernel Related Issues.

I don't get what all the hype is surround Philz-CWM6 kernel anything that is even remotely related to it doesn't seem to work. His 4.00B21+22 just don't seem to boot at all, I have to go back into recovery and flash another kernel before it does anything.
Siyah 6.0b4 will boot but doesn't seem to have a working home button.
I can't seem to find the latest CM10.1 Kernel for 4.2.1 roms. I've currently got LS8 modem.
I have no problems with DorimanX I just don't find it a very good Kernel, not very power efficient, don't get me wrong it's fast, but I want my battery to last.
Okay, so what is your question? You name a couple of kernels that don't work for you without telling which rom(s) you run. If all these kernels seem to fail in almost everything I think you'll have to start thinking about you yourself do something wrong, because of course nobody would use and praise a kernel if it doesn't boot.

I have tried a few roms, I was a long term fan of Rootbox until they removed the DPI Changer, I had tried 3.2 & 3.5, I've also tried stock CM10.1, Paranoid Android 2.99 and a few others that I now can't remember.
My question should have been more to the point, what the bloody hell am I doing wrong? I've been testing a few roms because I'd like to find one that I'm happy with for performance, customizability and battery life, I know it's never going to be a perfect balance, but that's why I'm testing so much.
I've been doing clean installs for all of them, factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik, format system, install rom, install gapps, kernel cleaning script, new kernel, boot.
Ironically after stating in my OP that I couldn't find the CM10.1 kernel, I have just come across one, I just find that they have the best performance, I don't like the stupid complexity of Siyah 6+ and DorimanX, there's too many options that I have no idea what they do and I feel just aren't needed.
Oh yes. Siyah & Dorimanx are stupid because some n00b in Q&A says so You crap on about how much you want to customise, yet you want to run a 'vanilla' CM kernel which offers nothing of the sort compared to those two.
But, eh, whatever works for you.
Edit - Donnie, don't waste your time. OP obviously knows best.

[Paranoid Android 3.99] not possible flash anything except ROM and Gapps

Hi all, I flashed today Paranoid Android 3.99 - 29.08.2013 (I come from Vanilla RootBox) on my Samsung Galaxy SII, and I noticed that except for gapps everytime I flash something else the phone stuck on the bootscreen.
I flashed Dorimanx 9.39 and it worked at first but after a reboot it got stucked, after I kept the stock kernel of the ROM and try to flash PurePerformanceX and it got stucked again.
Procedure before and after flashing ROM and everything else:
1. Nandroid Backup
2. Wipe Data
3. Wipe Cache&Davlik
4. Flash PA 3.99
5. Wipe cache (just for safety )
6. Flash Gapps
(6.1. Flash PurePerformanceX the second time without installing the Dorimanx)
7. Flash GS2KernelWIpe2.09
8. Flash Dorimanx 9.39
I tried also to do point 7&8 before the 6, but it's the same.
Anyone else having this kind of problem?
Cheers!
Moae
Nope, I haven't tried that version of PA yet, it's on my to-flash list but testing something else right now. You mentioned using hawkerpaul's kernel wipe script...
What I would do (and personally follow every flash) is:
Flash ROMNuke script by hawkerpaul
Flash PA
Flash Gapps
Flash dorimanx
No other wipes other than the ROMNuke script. Then, see if it boots (& reboots). If it does, then flash your performance mod. If that causes bootloops, my guess is that the performance mod isn't updated for 4.3 yet. Either find a new performance mod, or tune dorimanx so you don't need one
See how you go.

at first I tried without PurePerformanceX, just PA+Gapps+Dorimanx. I actually use to flash the kernel before flashing gapps, 'cause a lot time flashing gapps before the kernel gave me some problem.
to answer to the other question, yes, I used the GS2KernelWipe by hawkerpaul
By the way, there is a guide for a good tuning of Dorimanx kernel?
Ok so have you tried his ROMNuke script? Never had an issue if I flash that before a ROM /kernel /gapps.
Hmm. Depends on what you want it for. I tune mine for battery, but not to the point of any lag. Someone else doesn't care about battery, and just wants s3 speed on a 2 year old phone. See what I mean? In saying that, read the last 5-10 pages of the Dorimanx discussion thread. That'll give you a pretty good idea of what works for performance. Obviously a god step is the 'performance' profile in Stweaks

I'm doing backups before trying . Let you know how it will go.
I'm actually looking for a good battery life but avoiding lags , anyway thanks for the tips
it seems working properly now! thx for all

Good to hear! Re: tuning dorimanx, search for (it may even be linked in OP of dev or discussion thread) for a post by droidphile on governors, i/o schedulers etc. That's a great place to start. Wait I just found it, look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1369817. Start reading up there :good:
