The GPS seems to be very inaccurate on my ace when i am using the camera, but it is ok in the maps.
Can anyone suggest a good camera app to use instead of the stock one that will tag the photo's with the correct location data.

OK folks, this one is a bit odd. I loaded up P3Droid's rooted 2.3.3 and it's been running great so far, save for one buggy thing.
I opened my camera and the photo portion of the screen (not the whole screen) started to flash in an out, in sync with the camera focus klunk (which seems to be more pronounces in gingerbread, btw). It took me a while, but I figured out that it is somehow linked to the auto-location tagging. The "searching for location" message was blinking as well in the upper left-hand corner. If I turn off the auto tagging feature in the camera app, it works just fine.
So, I played around a bit and found that if I leave VZW location and gps enabled, but disable google location services, I can leave auto location tagging on and have no problem.
Also, auto focus or continuous focus doesn't seem to matter.
Thoughts?
Possibly you froze/deleted a system app that its associated with?
That's all I got of the top of my head...

Good thought, I forgot to mention, I have not frozen anything. Fully bloated and stock (other than root)
My brother has had the exact same issue on 2.2.2 bone stock and I had to turn off the location tagging to get it to stop. I'd love to hear of a fix for this as well...
I had realized that the pointer in Google Maps doesn't point to the correct direction. Exactly like this video :
In Google Sky Map, its impossible to rotate 360 degrees, gets stuck in a certain area.
However, the compass works completely fine in pure compass apps, such as GPS Status, or the "Compass" app from Catch.com.
Could someone who have a Razr do a test and let us know if its working for you?
Your help would be much appreciated!
I can report the same issue!

Google Sky only works in horz., must be a Google API to the compass problem See if it works with the razr held flat.
Anybody else?
I can confirm having this issue in Google Sky Maps. No issue in the Compass app (Catch.com one), haven't checked GMaps, yet.
same problems here

Maybe a noob solution, but might wanna give the compass calibration tool in the GPS-status app a try, it fixed an orientation problem in Maps on my wife's charge...it was only reading accurate directions while moving...GPS vectoring worked, but when the phone relied on the magnetic orientation it pointed in the wrong direction... after compass calibration it worked fine
Ever since upgrading to 4.0.3 (ZSLPE stock rom), Geolocation has never worked well on my phone. Whilst Geolocation still works perfectly on Google Maps (no matter whether GPS is on or not). Geolocation in apps never works.
For Facebook, it has never been able to find my location (back in the days of 2.3.x, it was perfectly fine). But I think it's a common problem for ZSLPE stock rom, so that's ok.
As for Fancy and Beautiful widgets, Geolocation works very strangely. For example, when I am at home using 3G, Geolocation always identify my home/hometown accurately. But when I move to another place that's far away from my home/hometown, say move to a place that's 20km away from home, and update the weather and location, Geolocation always identifies my location as my hometown. This never happened when I was using 2.3.x
If anyone could help me solve the issue, it would be very much appreciated.
Many Thanks

I have the same problem, sometimes when my gps is dissabled beautiful widgets show the name of an other cicty 20km distance
Just to add a bit more details.
Geolocation never updates my location whether I have GPS turned on or not (it only shows my hometown regardless of where I am, and whether I have GPS turned on).
Also Navigation doesn't work
Same issue here... any one can help?
I had the same problem with the latest Mildwild ROM for the HTC Desire (which in turn is based on Oxygen 2.3.2 AOSP - Gingerbread 2.3.7), and latest beautiful widgets 4.05. I solved it just by selecting Accuweather for weather provider instead of Google.

Are you guys having problems with Google Map's compass mode? Even if I hold the unit steadily, the direction on the map starts changing randomly after a few minutes of use. It is really frustrating because I cannot get stable view. BTW, my device is C6833 on the latest stock ROM 532. So far I have checked 4 units and all of them have this same issue. Is it a known/common issue?
Hmm. The compass is fairly accurate in regular maps, but it goes full retard once i switch over to street view and choose the compass mode
For me 'maps' shows my heading accurately. Also in 'back country navigator' its very accurate.
I use it all the time for my job in search and rescue, so i would have noticed inaccuracy..
With street view it shows my heading, but does jump randomly when i select auto compass direction. The 'general' direction is ok, so say I'm heading north will often jump NNE and NNW all the time... so yeah, thats a bit stuffed up
Thanks for the feedback. I do hope it is just a software issue and the next update of firmware or Google Map can resolve it.
Having same trouble while using navigation, the compass go crazy. But if I only use map it work fine, I guess there is some trouble about it. First I believed something on my car where I place my phone was the reason, but i see i am not the only one having it.

This will probably get moved I didnt know where to put it. I am just looking at some info on what wireless apps i could use for my backup camera. Its one of those combo deals with a monitor. I dont need another 7 inch display for this since I already have and Android Radio. I use this camera for the back of my Camper and it would be useful for backing up or monitoring lane changes. I'll pull the part number off the camera this evening. I did find SWD camera app that might work I will try it. But are these camera systems linked specifically to the monitor?
I cannot find any markings on this camera, its sold by Emmako or amtifo. I also ran a wifi analyzer app and it didnt pick up anything.
