For me the only actual upgrade from my current Optimus One that I would consider would be to a Samsung Galaxy S1 (I also don't have budget for S2 now). Until then I'll stay happily with my O1 with CM7 and FK.
IF you have time to spare, you can wait for the LG Optimus Sol.
If not, you can try the SE Xperia Neo, but this might be outside your budget, as (iirc) it is about the same price as SGS1.

u88oo has a unofficial port for miui...so bugs r welcome...i would suggest motorola defy got plenty of support in xda...and has official miui rom.if u r willing to spend 4000 extra go for nexus s.

Go for Google nexus, I think its value for ur bucks 18k or lesser, it has cyanogen mode support.

I think u hav to buy motorola defy......it has armv7 processor and supports cyanogen mod.......go for it...

In specs the ace is better. In reality iphone is smother, maybe not faster but smother. The wifi on the iphone is shockingly slow. But what you you really need to consider is do you want open source or not. You can jailbreak an iphone but its not great, you'll never get the same as android. Iphone is for showing off, ace is for funtion. I have both and use my ace. Every now and then i boot the iphone for games, but thats getting less and less.

The 3gs has ARM V7 which makes it faster really.
But in terms of operating system android is for the adventurous.
My girlfriend has the 3GS and is always complaining about the lack of functions compared to my Ace.
Since she had a HTC Magic before, she knows of what Android is capable and is always saying that iOS runs smooth, but is for idiots.

first time for bricked by rom manager
They every time repair under warrenty

Many user repaired hard bricked under warrenty
not know about other company but samsung repairs
If want proof use rom manager after root in stock rom without cwm
Then go to samsung service centre
They will repair
Otherwise we have consumer forum in india

Hmm, yes, the options you get with this open os are great! But,someone said it already,the iPhone is for dummies, anyone can get it and use it without lots of action.
The Ace came with stock Rom and yes, it was useable but not really rocking. You have to read and learn till you get what most of us here have now ... a rockin Ace
But that's not Samsung's work,it's the work of the great Developers on this OS.

Hey guys, there's a sad news and a good news. For the first; bad news is that my SGA got stolen in an Car Fair (named Auto-Expo), so I was there standing between huge crowd and someone pickpocketed my phone while I was not paying attention to it.
After 3 days, the money I collected for Galaxy S Plus, thinking that I'd sell Ace and get some money from it so in totality I'd get S Plus. So I invested the money I collected on Motorola Defy, which has very active forums on xda, plus has very active development and most of all official MIUI and Cynogenmod and I am VERY happy with this phone.
So this is end of my legacy, bye guys have fun and I think one day Ace would get stable and fully working ICS, and it could be overclocked to 1200 Mhz easily.

Defy is a fantastic phone. If you need any help with setting it up just shout. But wont be using mine for dev work as miui! Lol! If you flash miui use the miui.us version. Its closest to the original and fully translated.

I can use your help, since I am very confused with rooting, flashing and finding particullar SBF for it to run MIUI. Can you PM me the whole procedure? By the way I have red lens Defy with 2.2.2 Asiatic firmware.
Red lense is better from what I understand. You need superoneclick to root.
Once rooted download the app from this thread(2nd init installer)

And run it. It crashed first time for me but worked fine second time. After that download the miui or what ever you want to flash And put on memory card. After that. . . .
shut down.
Power up.
Press down on volume rocker when blue led flashes
Recovery menu will load. On this touch screen in bottom right corner to show menu.
Choose recovery.
Custom recovery.
Cwm will load.
Sure you know the drill after that.

even if someone managed to port it chances are the phone will puke it out.. One X have a considerably higher specs than S2.. hence it'll be unlikely that S2 will have that kind of features..

I would recommend the ergybt rom if you wanted android .3 and the rem-icsux and paranoid roms if you want android 4.0.
