Hi! I have an Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread HCL ME X1 Tablet. I successfully rooted it all manually by using ADB and installed "su" and superuser tools. I manually installed ClockWorkMod Recovery 5 by using Terminal. Then I created ClockWorkMod Recovery 5 full backups. I have the factory reset ClockWorkMod Recovery backup of a fresh Stock which came from Carrier. Doesn't contains any defect. The Carrier/Company won't release any further upgrades, and is not giving any original stock ROM.
All I ask with due patience and respect, to guide me to manually build an Upgrade ROM from 2.3.3 to 2.3.7 or from 2.3.3 to 3.0 Honeycomb. I would certainly require original company device drivers and factory files from the the backup. I won't mind any type of comment. Can this new 2.3.7/3.0 upgrade ROM be built from the older 2.3.3 ROM, manually? Please guide me step by step. Tell me the tools, configuration, drivers, kernel, etc. If you need any other information, please ask and I will inform I won't use update.zip flashing, instead I would manually flash/copy the images via ClockWorkMod Recovery/ADB console. Hope my friends guide me.

2.3.3 to has barely any changes. And 3.0 was not open sourced until recently, it will be very hard to make your own ROM from this

It will be my first ever try, if 2.3.7 is easier to build as an upgrade to my 2.3.3 android, please let me learn the steps and knowledge to do it. Currently, I haven't found any information regarding how to manually build an upgrade from an older version Backup image files, to a brand new version. I could at least try with your guidance and then learn the things which will come handy in building 3.0 and 4.0 Android + ROMs.

Good morning everyone! I'm new here on XDA.
Today did not pay attention and ended up restoring the files from the CM11 in the Stock ROM partition and now the machine is in boot loop.
Someone could make available for download the backup files from the stock rom of Gingerbread Razr XT 910?
Only files "system.ext3.win.md5" and "system.ext3.win" so I can restore at Safestrap.
Do not ask me why I want version 2.3, because I know you already have the ICS 4.0.4 and 4.1.2 JB.
Please someone to make the files available for download, I lost my backup.
It can also be ICS 4.0.4 if no Gingerbread

Hey Guys,
im crying, cause in my whole life I had never a problem which I cant solve. :crying:
The Story:
I started my phone and got a wounderful bootloop which forced me to flash a new firmware (firmware before: cyanogen mod 11)
I flashed a Stock Rom: Android 4.3 DBT and tried to backup before, but the clockworkmod recovery wont let me, it cancled at
the System Point.
So I have just a Backup with a uncompleted system tar (but which I can open with 7zip), a boot.img and a recovery.img.
NO esf.img. I did not know that the IMEI could get destroyed after a flash, so I thought it would be no problem if I flash anyway,
cause I had no other opportunity.
Now I'm googlin for like 3 Days and tried every possible Soultion, flashed again, flashed root, done the 9step fix,
done the hex fix, ... I think I did everything, but nothing worked. My only "success" was to get a 0049 IMEI.
Which is not really a success.
The Problem:
No IMEI, or just 0049 and *#1234# says that I have no IMEI Certificate.
What can I do? Is there any fix out there, which can help me or does life force me to give up the tons of hours I lost for
this **** and send it to a repair service? Can I send it then to Samsung repair service?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Btw.: Sorry for the bad english, it is not my mother language.
Before flashing CM11 you were on stock 4.0.4 / 4.1.1 / 4.1.2 or 4.3 ?

I had MIUI before I flashed CM11 with the CM installer.
And before I flashed anything, the Version was one before 4.3, I think it was 4.2.
But I updated the firmware over the android updater, maybe it was at the beginning where I bought it 4.0 or 4.1.
Is this important?

Yes if you have moved/flashed from any version below 4.0 4.1 4.2 etc to 4.3 then your efs has changed from v1 to v2 read this >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/ref-imei-efs-stuff-i9300-including-t2393289 << tip try flashing the efs v2 aroma zip file in the thread with a custom recovery
Hi All,
Sorry if the same question is being asked over and over again, but I am not able to find correct solution for my problem.
Well, the basic problem is status -7 error. but I want to know if I am using the correct version of CWM, ROM etc.
My Mobile model: GT I9300(Indian model- GSM)
Android version-4.3
baseband versionI9300DDUGNB1
Kernel - 3.0.31-2363855
Build # JSS15J.I9300XWUGML4
ClockworkMod recovery v6.0.3.2
ROM Manager Version 5.5.3.7
CMW Manger v3.55
Roms I tried to install are cm-11-20140918-NIGHTLY-i9300.zip and Paranoid Android downloaded from the below links respectilvey:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/orig-development/rom-cyanogenmod-9-nightly-builds-t1714354
and http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/orig-development/aospaandroid-4-4-2-kvt49l-t1745003.
With the help of Root checker i can say that the Root is granted properly.
Is my recovery version good? Coz, i have used a prior version( 3.xx) and it was working fine(though it was showing status 7 error), ie., for backup and restore, but in the version6.0.3.2, even taking a backup isn't properly done.
also, are the ROMS am using correct for my S3?
Please help me install new ROM.
TIA.

You will need this CM11 version, better Snapshot than Nightly: https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=i9300
Than you will also need the latest recovery, I prefer Philz Touch Recovery: http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/i9300/philz_touch_6.48.4-i9300.tar.md5 (flash it in odin)
Last I would recommand a Googy-Max Kernel like this one here: http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/i9300/philz_touch_6.48.4-i9300.tar.md5

Error 7 means your recovery is to old to flash kitkat roms
Your recovery needs to be updated to install any kitkat roms.

Hello,
So I received this phone from my uncle to "fix" because it kept showing "Lenovo lockscreen has stopped working" nonstop. Now I want to flash a new ROM to it.
What I know about the phone:
Model -Lenovo P780
Android -4.4.2
Build-P780.V101, 2014/03/12 15:06
VIBEUI_V2.0 1437_7.14 1_ST_P780
Recovery -heweikeji CWM-Recovery v6.0.4.4 Modd by heweikeji_yueyue.
It's a CN rom already flashed custom ( I think )
I want to flash a new ROM for him because this one is really clustered ( even after factory reset tons of unnecessary apps )
My question.
What do I need to flash a new rom to this phone?
What rom should I pick? (he's a regular user ).
Do I need to update recovery?
Need the easiest way out possible.

Look here and read that tutorial about changing your firmware with one still developed.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p780/help/row-cn-how-to-check-t3333532/page2
After that go to development area in MIUI section, mirror 9. There are latest custom firmware stable versions with OTA suport.
Good luck.
