Hello all. I'm new to this forum. 1 week ago I bought Galaxy s 2 from Computer City in Denmark. It runs fine now, but can not upgrade from 2.3.4 to 2.3.5. Kia can not find 2.3.5. I have the following data:
phone:
Android 2.3.4
Current firmware: PDA: KI4 / PHONE: KI1 / CSC: KE1 (SMO)
Kia: Runs with v. 2.1.0.11112_41
Want your help on how I get on so that I can put 2.3.5.
PS: What is SMO for?

You can check it here => http://www.samfirmware.com/samsunglettercode.htm
But the CSC is not so important.
Here you can find Official Firmwares for the SGS2 (GT-I9100) => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Please read first post - Intratech has described everything you need to know on how to flash the latest firmware to your phone.
Do not use KIES, just download and use Odin (or if you want to root your phone first you can use Chainfire's Mobile ODIN app from the market).
The latest Firmware for the SGS2 is XWKK5 => Android 2.3.6.
You will find it as Frankenstein ROM in the third post.
And you can combine it with any Modem (baseband / phone part of the firmware) and CSC (regional / carrier customizations).
Good luck !

Hi,
I'm new to Android and Galaxy S2. My phone was purchased in Spain from Vodafone.
I have just upgraded my ROM as per Intratech's guide (thanks by the way for the nice gude). The upgrade went good but after upgrae Kies shows the old CSC and says it can't update. Is this expected? I thought the CSC was supposed to change to the generic one.
I used ROM XWKE7 from the guide. After upgrade I get the following:
Doing *#1234#, I get:
PDA: I9100XWKE7
PHONE: I9100XXKE4
CSC: I9100XEUKD1
Doing *#272*<your IMEI>#, I get
ATL
In Kies it shows:
PDA: KE7 / PHONE: KE4 / CSC:KD1(ATL)
- Can someone please clarify?
- I'd also like to know if after this I still have to do something else to unlock the phone to use with a different provider.
- I was hoping to leave the phone as unbranded so future updates will be picked up through Kies.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Depends upon what CSC flashed their is no generic CSC .

Debranding is not unlocking .

Hey Guys,
I've tried all morning to find out what i should pick to flash my new phone, i've searched the forum but atm everything is kinda making me go crazy. I've understand that Different regions got different firmware, i've checked the post about all the official firmware. But now I must admit, i've given up and admit to seek help in here.
My phone:
PDA: I9100XWKF3
Phone: I9100XXKE7
CSC: I9100XXKF1
Location: Denmark
Language: Danish
Android: 2.3.3
NEW FIRMWARE:
I wish to run 2.3.4 ofc, so im looking for a firmware that enables this.
I've found by reading allot of posts in here, that this site have allot:
http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9100.htm
The problem is, that they have allot of different and seems to make no sense, wich one i should pick.
Here is a little list:
I9100XXKG1 ## EXT4.PIT 2.3.4 2011 July 5 MULTI - CSC - OXAKG1
I9100XXKH3 ## EXT4.PIT 2.3.4 2011 August 12 MULTI - CSC - OXAKH13
I9100XXKH1 ## EXT4.PIT 2.3.4 2011 August 1 MULTI - CSC - OXAKH1
Problem:
My phone is atm at: I9100XWKF3 and on the list there is no such thing. Only KH1-KH3-KG..
What is the risk by flashing one of them?, i mean KF and KH is not the same i guess...
Could someone please help me to find the right one for me?
Many THanks.
Well you are on KF3 firmware like me. It's an old build. Still 2.3.4 hasn't released officially yet, so only option is a leaked ROM if you wanna get 2.3.4. Just download an European firmware from this thread,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
There is NO risk involved, but keep in mind that it's not the Official firmware, so Kies will stop giving you any information on future firmware updates.

Would there be any idea in waiting for the official release?...
If not, wich one of the firmwares from the link you gave me would fit me best?..

OXAKH3 is KH3 firmware of Europe region.
Official update should be coming soon, depends on damn Samnsung, when they will release it to Kies servers. If you want Kies updates, then as I said, you need to be on a Stock firmware, Kies won't show any updates if your device is on a Custom/Leaked firmware.

Hello!
I just bought the S2 White, and it's on 2.3.3.
I tried to update the software from phone, but it says, "No new updates".
I connected the phone to KIES (Windows 7 Home Premium x64),
& it says, "GT-I9100 does not support firmware upgrade."
PDA: KE7
PHONE: KE4
CSC: KD1(H3G)
Can someone help me please to update it ???
(I don't understand why KIES says that my phone does not support firmware upgrade :S)
Maybe it has been flashed an unsupported version firmware.
Anyway you can upgrade to any firmware you want throught odin.
Look in the forum for a guide how to flash with odin

It says it cannot be updated because your firmware is mixed for some reason, latest H3G is:-
PDA: I9100XWKI4
PHONE: I9100NEKI1
CSC: I9100H3GKI1
faill debrand!!flash again!
Inviato dal mio GT-I9100 usando Tapatalk
I had a similar problem. Then updated Kies and it said that it's not possible to update my firmware!
I went to the thread with the stock firmwares. Chose the current UK 2.3.4 firmware and flashed via Odin. Totally painless and very straightforward. Then checked on my phone for software updates, non available and checked via Kies and says my firmware is up to date.
This seems to have corrected the problem.
People still use Kies?
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

Just looked through the guides for doing this and I can only seem to see stuff for Vodafone, 3, O2 etc. I've got an unlocked S2 that I think is running out of date software and thought I would try updating manually as Kies is telling me my phone does not support updates lol. Mine is running:
PDA: I9100XWKF3
PHONE: I9100XXKE7
CSC: I9100XEUKD1
So is my software out of date and if so how can I update it please?

OK so I have found the custom ROM for my S2 but what is the point of putting the same one back on there that is already running? The question I had was 'what is the latest version and how do I install that?'
The reason for all this by the way is that I am sick of the poor battery life of the phone and have been told that the latest version of the software improves it but unfortunately Kies seems to think that my phone is not able to be upgraded!
Are you on OS X by any chance?

Your versions are valid XWKF3 XEU, and it should update to:-
PDA: I9100XWKI4
PHONE: I9100XXKI1
CSC: I9100XEUKH2
If Kies says it cannot be updated your product code is probably wrong.
Hello,
Kies give me the same message "GT-I9100 does not support firmware upgrade."
and shows these versions on my S2,
PDA: KF3
PHONE: KE4
CSC: KF3(INU)
It shows the same as the latest firmware versions just below.
Does anyone know when these above versions were released ?
lol I know its possible to update, but whats wrong with kies

Official ICS Update for S2 in Pakistan
Hey guys!
I have a similar problem. I bought a Samsung Galaxy S2 from Saudi Arabia Last August. I've been waiting for the official ICS update for my phone since quite a while now. I am currently in Pakistan and even here my KIES says that I have the latest firmware.
The version is : PDA:KJ2 / PHONE:KI4 / CSC:KJ1 (JED)
I'm dying to use ICS on my phone and any help from the senior members will be much appreciated.
Cheers!
Your best bet will be to follow the links above, and search for custom roms. Is your phone currently rooted?

If kies is not showing any updates for your phone, the best bet is to use ODIN and flash the official ICS firmware of your choice.. Use this guide:

No I haven't rooted it yet.

I quickly went through the guide for now. I'll go through it in detail tomorrow. Just a little help...
I checked my phone firmware details:
Android Version is: 2.3.5
Basband Version is : I9100XXKI4
Kernel Version is: 2.6.35.7-I9100JPKJ2-CL655700 [email protected]#2
Build Number is: GINGERBREAD.JPKJ2
Based on the info I got to the conclusion that the applicable firmware for my phone is:
JPKJ2
Firmware info
PDA:JPKJ2
PHONE: XXKI4
Date: 13/10/2011
Android 2.3.5
OJP (ABS, AFG, BTC, EGY, JED, KSA, LEV, MAT, MED, MID, MMC, MWD, OTU, PAK, THR): Download
XSG (UAE):
JPKJ2 Stock Kernel: Download

Is that right?

You can get a stock firmware from www.sammobile.com and flash through Odin. There's a flash guide on the site too.
