Hi~ I unlocked my bootloader ~2 weeks ago aprox. So, I installed CyanogenMod from FreeXperia (FXP047). Everything worked fine~
But, now I see an update, where people is complaining about black screens, and stuff. I "updated" my CM like this:
- Downloaded FXP049 7zip.
- Extracted update-<stuff><version>.zip, boot.img, APPS folder.
- Copy the update.zip to my root sdcard.
- Rebooted into CWM, backup'd, wip'd my cache n' dalvik cache.
- Installed the zip.
- Rebooted.
Everything work'd fine. No black screens, no lag, nothing.
But, my question is, am I supposed to flash the boot.img again? (from fastboot) I didn't do that when I updated. But I did it the first time (FXP047). I thought CWM flashed the kernel from the boot.img inside the update.zip or something...
I read a lot of articles, tutorials, etc where ppl explain how to update, but I saw so much differents ways.
Thank you in advance, and sorry if my grammar sucks sometimes, I'm not english-speaking.

Hi there.
My girl have a Huawei U8230 from PT TMN, first i ROOTed it, than i flashed it with a custon rom from AntonioPT.
Well, from there, anything was running great, i installed some apps for my girl, and on the next day of doing that all, she came to me, and sayed that the phone were sound dead, no sound at all from the speaker (the big one), i made a call to the phone and she heard me, so the problem is on the other peaker.
i think its quite strange if the speaker just died, so i whent to CWM and reboot the phone on recovery mode, that i wipped all cache and data.
After a restart of the phone, only superuser and standard apps are installed, i no longer have Android Market, CWM, Androzip, etc etc installed.
I searched the web to find a way of installing the Android Market apk or the CWM apk, but i cant,, the phone says "Parse Error, There is a problem parsing the package".
So, this means that i'm not able to install any other ROM to fix this problems.
And the worts of all, is that i'm a noob on these flashing ROM's and other stuff things.
I really apreciate you guys help.
I dont know should i do now.
Thanks in advance.
no one????
I don't know if it is too late, but any way do this.
Download any other custom rom, put it on your cdCard and flash it.)
Don't forget to do factory reset and wipe dalvik cache. To copy files from PC to your phone using recovery mode, got to partitions menu->mount /sd card
Hope it helps
Cwm is in the flashable zip format
Find cwm for you, sorry your girl's device, setup adb or fastboot (Google this for easy step by step guides on this) on your computer and flash the recovery first and once it is done you can try to flash new working custom ROM through it.Press thanks button if i helped!

I've tried flashing over and over, and keep getting stuck at the white HTC splash screen after flashing cm7!?!
I've tried flashing through RM and manually.
What I've done:
Downloaded MR2.5 Radio, renamed to PG05IMG.zip, put on root of sd, reboot to recovery, updated it. Booted into my current rom (Gingeritis 3D) and had a signal and everything. So I renamed the PG05IMG to MR2.5-PG05IMG.zip.
So I rebooted into Recovery, did factory reset, wiped dalvik cache, cache partition, and then went to install zip from sd, and went to the Zoom kernel I had downloaded (which I was told works with CM7),
I then did the same thing with the CM7 update rom image which is: update-cm-7.1.1-Thunderbolt-signed.zip
(I have it in a folder called ROMs, is that ok? or does it need to be on the root while flashing?)
I then reboot, and it doesnt ever get past the white HTC splash screen.
I've done it 3 times, making sure everything is wiped, etc and still get the same thing.
What am I doing wrong?
Can someone give me a link to a CM7/Kernel/radio combo they KNOW works???
I don't know what else to try.
I've Googled it, and found lots of people with the same issue, but find no solutions....
I had been doing everything right, but it seems Clockwork Mod Recovery was corrupt or something.
What I did:
I restored back to my last backup.
Opened Rom Manager
Click "Flash Clockwork Mod Recovery" (the top one, even if it says your up to date)
after it flashes CWM successfully, either download and flash a rom from Rom Manager, or do it manually as I did.
And after the flash, I rebooted, and it went right to the CM7 boot animation, and loaded perfectly.
If you were like me and searched google, and found lots of posts with the same issue, but no solutions. So I hope this helps others.
Thanks for all the help guys!
(goes to show sometimes you just gotta try anything and everything)
Did you flash the radio in recovery? Nooooo thats not how you do it. Rename it to PG05IMG.zip and place it on the root of your sd card. Turn your phone off. And then turn it back on by holding power and volume down at the same time. it will take you to the bootloader and it will ask you if you want flash the radio. I think that might help

I bricked my tablet, i flashed the
Clockworkmod for Betelgeuse v0.3
based on ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.2.8
Then i tried to flash ICS CM9. The toshiba logo is coming, Bootscreen from CM, and then it´s freeze. I tried to flash several rom´s but nothing helped. Fastboot isn´t working (too Nooby to find out how), windows isn´t recognizing my Tablet. And i have no Backup file.
So please, can someone could post Backup file to restore, with an "How-To" or any other solution, so i can use my Tablet again.
Believe the only way is restore via fastboot
If you are not bothering to get this working - then simply do not ask
However - pls see this thread for more detailed information
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915894
regards
Update: in case freeze occured after installation of the ICS recovery - then fixes must be obtained in ICS development theme by DerArtem (also via fastboot)
Thank you very much, it´s working again, all files restored

I also noticed that bootloop can be solved by powering off and clearing cache and dalvik cache.
Rgds
i have spent the last 2 days searching these xda forums. btw u guys rock. i would not have gotten throgh rooting and putting a custom rom my first phone if it wasn't for you. anyway, i found out the hard way that trying to mod an atrix with 2.3.6 on build 4.5.141 is not easy. after many wrong turns, i was finally able to unlock my bl and get my phone rooted. then i was able to play with cwm. i was able to backup my current rom, but cannot reboot into recovery. this made me curious so i tried to enter android recovery which failed as well. both ways gives me the droid guy and a triangle. i went thru all this work so i could flash a cool rom ( thinking cm7 since it seems to be stable, but i wanna check around). since i cant reboot into recovery, im kind of at a stand still. i did my best to search through the forums before i asked any stupid questions, but im stuck. please help me.
What have you tried to get into recovery? How did you install a recovery?
Delete install-recovery.sh @ /system/etc.
Then, install Rom Racers recovery via fastboot.
Sent from my CM7 Atrix.
I tried to reboot into recovery from rom manager. When that failed i powered phone up holding volume down, then scrolled to android recovery option. i used automatic unlock v4.2 to unlock bl's (option 1). I did not use option 2 to root since i was not familiar with tenfar cwm. So i rooted using method #1 from rootzwiki's atrix page. I then chose option 6 for cwm recovery and rom manager. I went to market, downloaded rom manager. When i opened rom manager, i clicked flash cwm recovery. then tried to reboot into recovery and....dead end.
thanks swiftks. i was actually looking into following your advice. just didnt want to post until i tried. anyway, i already have rom racers zip downloaded onto my internal memory. the plan was to use rom manager to install rom from sd card just like its says on the noob page. just was never able to get that far. so im sorry for my ignorance, but how do i go about deleting that file. and how do i use fastboot to install rom racers recovery? im trying my best to learn. i broke my captivate a few days ago and this phone is new to me. plus, im not exactly a tech expert. i just follow directions well and have learned just enough to get myself into trouble
Ill let swift answer from here cuz im stumped. I do know to delete the file, you need root explorer (can find on play store) and root access. Open root explorer and navigate to system/etc then find the file and delete it.
update. so before i went hunting down root explorer i tried to flash cwm recovery through rom manager one last time (3rd time, every time said it was successful. lo and behold, i got into recovery. i am now going to attempt to upgrade to rom racers cwm. i did at one point download a fastboot file, just cant remember if i installed correctly cuz i was pretty drunk last night. how can i verify. i do definately have sdk tools tho. checked for adb devices. is fastboot under sdk tools? or was that a dumb question?. nevermind. i do have fastboot. found my fastboot device. Then entered "fastboot erase recovery" failed 000300003. im pretty sure this needs to be deleted as u suggested. when i got recovery to open, i went back and tried to finish installing romracers cwm via rom managers install from sd option. got the triangle again. reflashed cwm thru rom manager and was able to boot into recovery. from there i tried to install zip from sd, installation successful, reboot propmpt. rebooted. wnet directly to rom manager, tried to reboot into recovery... triangle. reflash thru rm, recovery boots. reboot system. tried to reboot into recovery, but triangle is back. the only way for me to get to recovery is reflash it everytime before i use it. this has got to be because i never deleted the path you suggested, right? im really tryin here, but i feel like im stuck inside a real life boot loop

On my computer the path for fastboot is android-sdk-tools/platform-tools/fastboot
i downloaded root explorer. deleted install-recovery.sh @ /system/etc. once i did this i was able to use fstboot commands from rom racers page. fastboot erase recovery was successful. then tried 'fastboot flash recovery recovery-atrix5.img'
error: cannot load.
im chipping away at it but wow. thoght i would be flashing cm7 by now. I do appreciate your patience, lord knows mine is running low

At this point are you still not able to get in recovery?
finally, success! just figured out what the hell im doing with fastboot. unzipped romracers cwm to same folder containing fastboot, finished last part of cmd (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img then fastboot reboot and voila! i now have rom racers cwm. i will now enter rom manager, backup rom (which i understand is a nandroid process). then start researcing cm7 and eventually some more roms to play with. thanks for all of your help
once recovery was fixed, everything was a breeze. put cm7zip on internal sd, installed from recovery, data wipe then cache wipe, then reboot. iput google apps zip on internal sd, installed from recovery. fancy new phone! only took me 3 days to do it. i hope someone else can learn from my mistakes

Congrats
Hello,
These past two days have not been a good day for my phone lol. Some background:
BEFORE:
I had a 4.4.4 Custom ROM [Forgot the name...]
TWRP: 2.5.0.2
AFTER:
I clean flashed http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...m-cyanogenmod-12-0-nightlies-verizon-t2998057
I cleared cache + Dalvik after the flash and it asked me if I wanted to fix root (From what I read before, you're never supposed to press Fix, rather you're supposed to prses Do not Fix and you'll still keep your root.
However, I accidentally pressed Fix Root and Now I lost my root. The ROM I flashed is glitchy because from what I read is because I have TWRP 2.5.0.2.
Now I'm stuck on this ROM, I have no idea how to upgrade to the latest TWRP and don't know how to get my root back . [Can't get TWRP Manager because I don't have Google apps (I tried flashing the GAPPS by Paranoid but it keeps crashing because I think it's the outdated TWRP)]. I tried to download TWRP manager on my phone via another site, but it doesn't install on my phone for some weird reason.
Thank you,
Jerry
Download, install and run the towelroot.apk file. This will root your phone, takes about 2 minutes
