So in the last half hour, every time I try to send a text message I get back an error message via text from 9230 saying: The message could not be delivered due to a temporary network error. Please try later. Error 2128
I live around DFW TX, anyone else experiencing this?
I just got that message also.
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
I didn't get the error message but I was getting text messages really late.
try making a phone call... see what happens
I'm getting late text in western mass. Wtf Sprint!
Support TrevE! Fah Q CIQ!!
Well I just tried to send one about 5 minutes ago, didn't get any errors but haven't received anything back.
I'm here in Northern Va and was just able to send about 5 texts and received about that many also. HTH
I got that same error around the same time this morning in Houston.

Could be them working on network vision updates. Wouldn't surprise me since Dallas and Houston are two really large markets for Sprint.
Same in the dc area...i just switched to a Verizon prl until this is fixed
It's an inter-carrier issue. They're working on it. Hopefully it should be fixed here soon.

Download handcent or something similar then see if the problem persists
Bussin Caps from my 3D shooter
I have tried handcent and still the same thing. Going to take it to Sprint to day and see if the can figure it out.

I'm having the same problems and hoping if I leave my phone off the problem will somehow, magically, be gone. But I'm gonna take it down to the Sprint store in the morning. Anyone else getting an error message saying that your texts didn't send when they actually did?
That happens to me when I'm on my Airave or in a bad service area.
So my phone still has the problem Sprint said its fine but what do they know.

When sending text messages, what is this bs? I saw a bunch of other threads on it, but nothing really solid, anyone else getting this today?
im in the metro detroit area
I got this too and I'm in Miami. It didn't let me send text messages for a couple minutes and then it went away. It was random though.
Air rave + phone its fail.
My phones been doing this repeatedly for the last 20 mins..

I figured it was something like that...for some reason I thought it was because of the major thunderstorm/mini-hurricane outside of my house lol but this is the first time it's happened to me and I also used to own OG Evo.

It's only when your texting more then one person, and are on an air rave.. It's driving me crazy.

happened to me about 2 weeks ago... super frustrating
Had it happen in the past with EVO4g
I just chalked it up to phone being *****y so i gave it a few seconds to get it out its system

Make your first phone call !!!! Evo 3d will not work unless you make the first phone call and your carrier activates the phone on the call, i have turned this bug into the executive office at sprint last week... It is being distributed to all call centers ...

I get it when the network is extremely congested. (comerica park during a busy game, wayne state during the school year). In both of those cases you have 20 or 30 thousand extra people in a very small area. Were you in that type of situation?

Nah actually my office is in royal oak and no airrave and it does it... At home in southfield i have a airrave but if that msg comes up, the other person i am txting gets it 30 times lol weird
Seems to happen randomly for me.
Here's a posting I made a couple weeks ago. Are you getting these same error codes?

Yeah, your having two separate issues. Same thing happens here with the air rave really annoys people..
Same problem in Milwaukee, WI with "Radio resource shortage" message. Spoke to sprint they indicated I had a text block on my account, news to me. Once removed seems to have resolved the issue.
Anyone getting this on their evo3d? I get these intermittently with people outside the sprint network but now I get them ALL the time on our family plan with my family.
That makes no sense on why texts are delayed for hours when we are in the same house or miles down the road from each other on the same sprint plan. Has this issue been identified and fixed yet?
I am rooted running Titan HD and my wife has a galaxy s2 not rooted.
Yes mine is delayed often. I have google voice and have to check the website periodically to see if I got a text that my phone hasn't yet received. Kinda annoying.
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
my messages are very often delayed. my friends call me and ask if i received their sms. kind of sad.
Call and ask they check your towers. I get that if I'm roaming. Also gingerbread ghostly sms is an app that pulls delayed or un received messages for you. I used it allot on my Evo, but haven't on my 3d..

I'm having the problem with my texts randomly not being sent until hours or days later. My phone shows the time I actually sent it, but google voice shows the time the recipient actually gets it. I don't know of its sprint or google voice, but it doesn't seem to happen with another phone on my plan that doesn't use google voice.

Does anyone have this problem that isn't on Sprint? Reason I ask is that I just bought this phone and I'm hoping I won't have problems. I'm in the UK by the way, on Vodafone network.
When my wife first got her 3D it wouldn't get most of text messages, just prior to that Sprint sent us an AirRave to try because we had extremely weak signal at our house, once we returned the AirRave the text messages worked ok on the 3D.
Still a no go. That ghost sms doesnt help much either

It is most definitely the Sprint network problem and Verizon's problem while roaming on their network. We may be able to roam but they definitely dont give our traffic or calls any sort of priority. If I am roaming I will not only have messages not sent or received but calls dont even go through and I will just get a notification that I have a missed call at some point.
A verizon phone on Verizon network doesnt have this problem and ATT doesnt have this problem (hasnt for years). Only Sprint and sometimes TMobile have these issues.
I have narrowed it down a bit. I send a text via the stock messenger and I go online to GV and the text I sent is not there.
If I send a text from GV or WhatsApp then everything works as it should.
There seems to be some sort of miscommunication between the stock app and pushing it to GV
I've been having this problem for about ten days, but I'm on a cdma hero with Sprint. I've had Google Voice for about 2 months, but have never used it for sending sms. I only got to this thread because I've been on google trying to figure it out...
happens to me every few weeks.
i have GV on sprint.
randomly people will tell me they suddenly got 10 or so texts and suddenly the recent chat we had the day or two before make a whole lot more sense.
and i also get the random texts that never arrive to me that i can see on google voice though
So a couple of days ago I disabled Google Voice to troubleshoot, and I haven't had a single problem with sms since... The issue (for me at least) is in Voice forwarding my texts (since it unfortunately integrates with sms as well). I do like Voice as my voicemail service, so I'm thinking I will try to re-integrate Voice with my phone to see if it functions properly. I may get around to it tomorrow, and I'll post back a few days after using it with results when I do.
Why are my text message always delayed? It can takes 30 minutes for someone to get a message from me or they just usually say "pending". I'm on CleanROM ICS. Any ideas on why this is happening? I have full 4G bars.
That's usually a network error

The txt message part is still handled on the old 1X ( cdma ) side of the network. I believe this still applies with 4G; at least at this time.
I have noticed this with being with Verizon starting about 2007. I use to be subscribed to a service that sent me txt updates every few minutes. It was easy to see the delays, and when you got literally 5-8 messages all at the same time, with all the same time stamp, but received by the network at all different times, it was very noticeable.
I complained about this and informed them that this problem never occurred until i got this new phone, so i literally went through about 5 or 6 warranty replacements even a different model without a change. Interesting enough, going back to the old phone the problem stopped.
I took the complaint to the highest level, and they literally had no explanation as to why this was happening after monitoring my traffic. They were stumped. I did some research and noticed that a new cdma chipset came out about a year earlier, and i suspect, but can't prove that is the culprit, and i would bet that that same chip-set or a variation of it is still in use today... my theory anyway.
I emailed my vzw contact, and got no response... imagine that!

I'm on the latest stock RUU and my sent messages usually take at MAX 1 minute to appear to the reciever. It might be just the ROM.

Towers will be going down intermittently until 9pm tonight it started last night around 6pm. I was told it will primarily effecting text messaging. Right now I can't send, but can receive but when I do receive I am getting them 4 and 5 times.
Just a heads up

Where'd you get this information? Are the upgrading, or fixing to light up some LTE?

how do you know this bit of info?
This has been happening to me around cocoa off and on for the past few weeks now. I was starting to think it was my phone.
My data speeds have also been pretty much non-existent with it showing it connected to an "unknown" type of network. If I'm lucky the speed test will complete around 10-20kb/s but half the time it just gives me an error.
I haven't seen anything like this happening between my home in Apopka and work in South Orlando. Are there certain stipulations as to how this is happening for some, like tower location, handset configuration, etc.
Im in Apopka just north of the 429 and have been getting double text messages for the passed 2 weeks
My wife also on her GS3 has been receiving multiple sms and mms

You know what, I just found one that I did get a duplicate of on the 13th at 6:42pm. Odd, didn't even realize it. Exact same area as you.
I wonder if my wife would have this problem on her EVO 3D?

Yeah, but if you get into Altamonte Springs, around Best Buy and closer towards I-4, you'll see pretty impressive speeds. I got about 1.2mbps down over that way.
I spent a little time speaking to a few techs this morning until I got some real information. I live in Lakeland and work off Lee and OBT. I started to get flustered on Friday afternoon and when it got worst as I traveled home I called up and received that information. In Lakeland they are upgrading multiple towers as well as Winter Garden through Maitland Exchange area. Was told that Lakeland would be back up today by 6pm central time, Winter Garden around the same but no exact time on Maintland Exchange area.
PS I can finally send texts and receive as well here and its finally stopped the multiple messages.
