These are in Dev stage not yet started by senior Dev.....

I'm waiting for CyanogenMod9 for Aria, not this ICS dev from here.

One can only hope....However, mine are not that high....

Personally I would be extremely gratefull for anything up to date that does not have the Carrier IQ rootkit engeneered into the underpinnings.
I cannot put to words how dissapointed I am with HTC for enabling AT&T to stuff this spyware in the FroYo 2.2.2 RUU ROM "update" along with making it more difficult to "Root", then distributing it when AT&T did not have the guts to distribute it themselves. In a move that would seem to be to limit their liability shoult the bovine scatology hit the radial oscilator.
Not to mention, just how secure is this purloined data? I am reminded how easily reporters in Mexico were tracked down within minutes and decapitated in the street by Zeta gangstas for negative reports.
Of course it is just paranoid thinking that they were privy to the reporters gps locators and who called emergency services. Isn't it just paranoid thinking?

[REQ] Cyanogenmod 9 port to HTC Amaze 4g

I was doing a little bit of surfing and noticed that cyanogen has made a cyanogen 9 version for the galaxy 2 and the nexus s... And I was wondering if it was possible to get this on our phones...
This should be in the general section...
Anyways one day it will
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using XDA App
Agree is should go in general. Cyanogen said that it wouldn't be until maybe January for an alpha of CM9.
As for asking for your specific phone, give it time... it hasn't even been a month since ICS source was released.

Right. Moving to General.

In the meantime, CM7.1 would be nice - but will they just skip over 7.1 for new devices and focus on 9?
Just as a heads up, Max Krivonos posted that he stopped working on CM7 for the amaze and is going straight to CM9,
Double edged sword. Great for CM9 but no CM at all for a few months.
Yea I really miss CM. Wish it would get here asap.

I've thought alot about selling this phone due to the lack of having a huge community support (face it, it's no Sensation, Desire Z/HD, Evo, etc)... The hardware is good, the replacement? Obviously a Galaxy Nexus, if there is a solid CM9 port for this device, I would probably just save myself the trouble and keep using this, This has everything that the international GNex would have, except for the huge high res amoled screen. Please Koush/Max!!!! (I would think quite a bit could be borrowed from the Pyramid builds, with the obvious exception of the NFC/camera)
Uh... How long has the phone been out?? Let's face that first before complaining about the lack of development... It'd be nice if there was but its not going to happen over night...

Be patient my friend! I think the reason behind (kinda) lacking developtment for this phone is because there will be an ICS came out soon for it in early 2012 and most Devs are waiting for the official Amaze ICS release rather than wasting their time to built rom that would only last for less than two months
On that perspective I am really thankful for Xboarder for his effort to brought us something to satisfied our addictiveness of flashing meanwhile
I am more thankful to Max Krivonos, and Keyan Mobli (Scepterr/kmobs), Max is probably gonna be the maintainer for the Amaze for CM9 and is currently the maintainer for the MT4GS, kmobs is the maintainer of the Sensation for CM9 and has it to a point where he's said "So I'm now using ICS as my daily driver"... There is hope, but if you're looking for CM7/9 or any REAL AOSP build, don't expect xboarder to deliver that, I don't think he compiles anything, he's a themer/kanger/(insert less offensive term here). There is hope, but I'm dying to see some actual AOSP builds, GB or ICS.

Well, I'm by no mean a tech guy or whatsoever in that manner. All I can do is follows instruction to flashing Rom and stuff so when it come to judging who done what I have no idea eventhough I'm very much understanding what kang is ...
Perhaps when Max and whoever on CyanogenMod team came over and gave us some ICS or CM9 goodness, 'til then, the very few peoples who get this Amaze forum go on as it is and gave us something to played with is Xboarder56, Mike1986 and NRGZ28 .... and for that I am appreciates their times and effort putting into it
Heck, I even thanksful those themer like Alexia Whitehurst, killathenoob, TheSneakerWhore for uploading their theme file even though I myself know how to extract files from rom and uploading onto UOT kitchen

Just trying to keep options out there during our "slow" (see:new) period. Development takes time--Hell, I'm stuck on a macbook until I can save up for a notebook. Once I get that, I'll be able to do real theming/modding. UOT framework feels like a cop-out right now, but it is all that is being offered and we need the activity to draw more people. I have a to-do list of mods I want to do, but until I get my hardware back, it isn't happening.
Ultimately, it is patience. This phone is very new--ICS is around the corner.

I also am thankful to everyone helping out during our slow period. Although I can't wait for some true aosp action. I absolutely hate sense. It's pretty, but I just prefer aosp

yay. my dream of all those threads being closed came true. lmao. I lost count of how many threads there were. But answer... It is very unlikely we'll get it through normal terms on our phones. I don't even know what the difference is to the new jelly bean anyway compared to 4.0. New phones will always get the new OS before a year old phone gets it. Simple as that. Most companies don't support their products after 6 months anyway. *which is really sad*
Anyway, Sure I hope we get the best since I still believe our phone is the best on the market. Having LTE phone isn't a buying factor. there won't be a LTE network for sprint for another year or so. But anyway, GO JELLY BEANS. btw for everyone. You're all my new favorite friends. You rock.
Jelly Bean will have Google Now. I want this.

I have the evo v, which thankfully they put ICS on..perhaps WE will get jellybean at some point or another. :good:

I'm really just hoping that Sprint EVO 3D owners get an official ICS OTA and that HTC gets around to releasing the source soon. I don't expect HTC to bring Jelly Bean to the EVO 3D, but if we get the new kernel source, we can just do it ourselves.

I think so, and I really hope so. The two factors that slow down updates for devices are custom tweaks (Sense, TouchWiz, etc.) and drivers (like for our 3D camera and autostereoscopic screen). If Google's moves can help speed up the process and minimize the work that needs to go into updates, such as 4.1 being on the same kernel (or at least one with very minor changes), hopefully that will encourage and enable manufacturers to bring the upgrades to more devices sooner. If the Android ecosystem can ever reach a point where new OS versions only take a couple of months at most to reach supported devices, it would be a dream come true.
JB Doesn't Support Flash
Don't get too excited about JB just yet as it Flash won't work on it (see link below).

Maybe so devs can add the notifications update to ICS? I'd be happy with just that.

Eh, for me at least, I'm not too concerned about Flash. It's a dying breed as it is, with HTML 5 replacing it at a decent rate. I'd rather have the OS enhancements of Jelly Bean than Flash. But, that's just me, and I get the impression that you use Flash sites more often than I do.
I would expect some devs to port components of Jelly Bean to ICS, such as the notifications. It wouldn't have the Buttery goodness of JB, though.
Ahhh....

Ok, so I do see your point and you are correct, I am on my browser all the time and love the flash component. It was originally a major factor for me choosing Droid over iOS in the first place but certainly not a deal breaker by any means. I do know that HTML5 is the next big thing though. I'll take my buttery goodness in the form of ICS w/ JB notifications update please!...lol.

Buh-Zing!
JB
Hey guys.
I consider being able to handle/see flash a requisite of seeing the real web but at the same time, I dislike it. Can't wait till it is dead.
I'm guessing we won't see any "official" JB so not to nag but what is a typical time course [predicted?] for when we may see unofficial JB roms for CDMA Evo 3D, if ever? I'm just wondering order of magnitude type thing: 1 month, 6 months, 1 year, 2 year...?
Couldn't we just use dolphin or ics browser+ for flash sites? I think chrome is the only browser that is not supporting flash... (not positive though)

Jelly Bean for the RAZR??????????????

hi,
when there will be a custom rom of JB??? JB has some very genious features which would be soooo nice to have!!!!!
For HTC One x and S III it´s already existing!!
Thank you,
Greetings from Munich
Please stop asking for Jelly Bean. I have seen thread after thread of people asking this. Developers will get to it when they have the time! Most of those guys just do this as a hobby in the little amount of free time they have, so we shouldn't bother them

If you so desperately wanted an unlocked phone, why did you buy this one?
Reasons this phone doesn't have more developers:
Locked BL
Not unlocked to all carriers
Was released with an obsolete OS
You knew that at release, yet you still bought this phone, not the GNex or another phone. Now deal with your decision.
Sent from my DROID SPYDER
wow you just got ics after waiting a year and thats not good enough for you?
There is a jellybean alpha rom out if you want it so badly. No, I don't have a link. There is currently no wifi, no audio, 1x data only, etc. However, it is jellybean if you're that desperate. The source code was just released. Give the devs some time to work their magic. Also, I recommend installing google now on whatever ics rom you're on (including stock.) It works wonders even without voice.
I agree with the other guy
You guys should really stop being a bunch of whiney people. If you say that this phone has no support... how about you learn to do some programming/coding yourself and do it? Let the devs get to it when they can, they're probably just trying to make it.. ahem... like butter.

Think about this for a second...
Maybe, JUST maybe, someone didn't know much about android devices before they bought their razr, which was generously promoted and advertised, and they just bought a new device based on its good stats.
Now, that they have had their hands on such a device, now they are curious as to why everyone else is getting JB before this hefty hunk of equipment...
Don't assume that everyone knew that Verizon was about to screw them over with locked bootloaders.
Granted, most people in "the community" would have researched this before purchasing a device, but not everyone has been here that long and some need help catching up to speed.
Lets welcome newcomers, and try to shed some light on the shady happenings over at Big Red and try to steer future android fans away from their locked down devices...
QUIT BEING SO NEGATIVE! ITS JUST A QUESTION.

[Q] Kernel Source from HTC ???

Who here is willing to help me out with harassing/asking/begging HTC Dev to upload the source code for the Max kernel? I'm pretty sure everyone here knows that with out that AOSP is just a pipe dream..
Idea #1 After talking to Flyhalf and some thoughts just being tossed around I went ahead and attempted to boot the m7vzw recovery to see where it got me which turned out to be absolutely nowhere lol... Except for a black screen for a few moments and then it rebooted itself back to the bootloader.. It was a nice brief thought of us possibly being able to work with a kernel and code that already existed publicly! But again just another pipe dream...
Idea #2 Was an actual interesting idea considering it doesn't brick the device and render it useless, but after talking to nocoast from liquid/carbon/gummy what have you, as he said this would just be EPIC lol.. He suggested that I attempt at flashing the One Max to a GPE (Google Play Edition for those noobs that don't know what GPE is) and converting it over to a Google Experience device like the OG HTC One users are doing.. It's a fantastic idea but I however won't be the first to attempt this. Also considering we don't have an actual Verizon HTC One Max RUU available as of yet where if the phone wasn't completely shot that I would be able to RUU back to stock. See this would actually be seriously epic but my thoughts on that are if it did flash hypothetically speaking and it booted no problem what happens with RIL? I haven't seen anyone with a Verizon HTC One post anywhere that they were able to do this, correct me if I'm wrong.. There wouldn't be radios available for us considering the GPE devices are all GSM... Not to mention that even if I pulled the radios from a firmware dump and did some zip hacking the frameworks would probably not support it.........
Anyone reading this know of any Verizon HTC One users who successfully flashed their device to GPE and everything is working? If someone can find anyone who truly pulled this off I'll for hell of it give the GPE kitkat RUU a flash to see what happens out of curiosity maybe... I mean if you think of it how dope would it be to have the Google bootloader and get updates from Google and not HTC!!!
This is why I'm saying if you have a few minutes to spare please go to HTC Dev site and shoot them an email asking for kernel source code so we can get the ball rolling on AOSP builds.. I know I'm not the only one who is hurting for some source built ROMs! I've used Flyhalf's work since day one on the original Verizon HTC One and I know how phenomenal his builds were and I'm dying to run them on this! I always used HTC devices with the exception of briefly going to the Galaxy Nexus then Galaxy S3 then quickly to the Note 2, and what I loved about the Note 2 was the screen size! The last 3 devices I listed was all for screen real-estate well the Gnex was for ICS and 1st Verizon Nexus, but the rest screen real-estate! I don't need all that extra bloat garbage Samsung crams down everyones throat with the stylus and s-pen apps and s-voice and blah blah.. I loved it cuz it was BIG! I fell in freaking love with the HTC One but my biggest issue was coming from the Note 2 was stepping back down to a 4.7 inch screen....... Everything else I loved loved loved.. Then the announced the One Max and it was a wrap! This is something I can rock with for a minute tip they release the next super sized HTC phone with more power. HTC really nails it when it comes to build quality. They are just falling short with the carriers rules on being locked down and not releasing source in a timely fashion like some of the other OEMs are..
So lets get together as a community and try and get us some source!!!!! I've already been in touch with them a few times regarding this matter, and they basically just said that they are working on getting it to us............ Come on?????? We know it exists just upload it already!
+1 we need to kick of AOSP builds. I would like to email HTC Dev, however not have done any before. Can i request you to post anything specific that needs to be added to this email? it would help the other users here too.
From what I understand they booted the Sprint One recovery on a (your?) Verizon One Max. Wouldn't that mean the Sprint One kernel could be used (with some modification) with the Verizon radio? Both are cdma so it *may* not be that difficult.
No when beaups and I messed with my Max and he updates his rumrunner to work on the Verizon variant I went ahead and flashed and booted the Sprint One "Max" recovery not the original One recovery..

alright, just contacted htc dev asking them for one max downloadables.
How did you go about contacting them? Was it through the "Tell us what you want" tab on htcdev.com? Keep us informed!!! Hopefully if enough people do this regardless of your carrier since we are looking for common source for the kernel we can expedite the process a little since HTC tends be s l o w with posting their special sauce... i have known HTC's slow release timings over the kernel source in general and also about their bad attitude, hopefully we get more ppl to demand them. HTC One had got 4.3 update 2 months ago and it was only last week or so that the kernel source was released

HTC disclaims any and all liability for proper functioning of your device after the bootloader has been unlocked and for data lost in the unlocking process. To prevent unauthorized access to your data, unlocking the bootloader will delete all personal data from your device including applications, text messages and personalized settings.
All the information regarding bootloader is mentioned on the following website:

Different responses showing their difference in attitude against devs
Sent from my HTC One max using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I have been in contact with them pretty frequently over the past week and they have as they said "escalated the issue" to the right team to expedite the process on getting the kernel source up.. I'm right now awaiting another email from them and I encouraged them to call me as well lol.. We'll see!!! We can only hope!

Thats a good idea, i will follow up too! just in case it helps
I don't get any useful response from these guys... Were you successful in getting something?
Sent from my HTC One max using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I was in contact with them again last night and they responded today and told me that my escalation was received and is in the process of being reviewed and typically takes 7 to 10 business days and at that point would come to a resolution.. I explained to them that I understand Sense and HTC's extra nonsense is proprietary and told them that I don't care about that. What I care about is the kernel source and them following through with GPL compliancy and how not only on the One Max but all HTC devices based on the Linux kernel being modified and redistributed NEEDS to be made open and in good ethics in a timely fashion.... If anyone is really interested in seeing what I wrote I'll post the whole email lol.. It's a lot for me to retype. I gave it to them thorough though. I mean really gave it to them with facts and dates. How they were the originating OEM to release a public Android device and how they initiated the launch of the Open Handset Alliance and how they suck at being "Open"!! It was pretty good I felt!!!

Awesome job mate, good stuff. I don't think there were not much of other devs hanging success with the HTC Dev. I am looking forward for the whole email

@Murrda did the HTC guys respond ? i don't really expect any response even after their SLA.

Will we receive a redline VIII or digitalbath for sense 5?

These 2 roms by team nocturnal (correct me if i'm wrong) are simply amazing. When our phone finally receives android 4.3 with possible sense 5.5, will these roms get updated to 4.3 as well? I will have this phone for over a year to come as I am just a poor teenager who stumbled upon rooting and the android developement world with an LG Optimus S, and upgraded to the Evo 4G LTE in may of 2013.
Will major developers like NIN and sinistertensei still be developing for our phone?
apologizes if this is a dumb question. Just never know when a developer will move on.

Well we all know amazing roms don't always come from xda. Why don't you ask them personal via Private message. We don't even have sense 5 from HTC and most people doubt we'll see it from them. (As a OTA)

HTC has broken their promise's before, but with the update planned to go into sprint testing in mid january, It's very likely we will see it.
You do make a good point however, I just typed this on the go earlier.
Thread closure
As previously stated by another member, there's really no point in discussing matters like this, when the ROM's are not hosted on XDA.
It's better to post your questions on the Developers own websites. Just Google them. They're pretty easy to find.
So with that said, it's better off to close this thread.
Cheers
MD
