I've started sideloading apps by backing them up from my phone and then moving them to my NT. But Gmail won't open. Something flashes up too fast to read and then I'm back at the launcher. Suggestions?
Sorry if this has been asked and answered. I searched but didn't find it.

After moving from SC to OTA ED01, 2 of my paid apps don't remember that I paid for them. They show as purchased when I look at my market account on the web, but not when I use the app. If I try to install them from the web, they don't download on the phone (other apps do, but not these two.) If I restore the apps from backup, they both revert to the free version.
The two apps are TitaniumBackup and BackcountryNavigator.
Any ideas? I can always contact the authors, but the fact that they're both doing the same thing leads me to believe it's not a problem with the apps.
This sounds like its a problem with your google data on you phone itself.
Have you tried clearing/wiping and letting it sync again?
I really have no background in this but I think it pulls from your google account to check against a database of what you have flagged as purchased and not.
If anything its a place to start.
Might try and browse the market through the browser on your phone and see if it shows up as purchased that way.
I did clear the market data, reboot, and then let it resync. It got everything except these two. I'll try it from the phone browser and see what happens. I'm also thinking of flashing ComRom, maybe that will fix whatever the hangup is.
Well the issue persists after installing the community rom. I'm about out of ideas.
Oh good lord, I finally found the answer. It depends on the order in which you enter google accounts on the phone. I have an apps account and a gmail account. When I first got the phone, I started it up with the apps account. But when I started flashing ROMs I entered the gmail account first as it's the one I had purchased the apps with. Nope, that doesn't work. They have to be entered in to the phone in the same order as they originally were. *shakes head* That is just sooooo frickin stupid.
Here's the thread I found the answer in.

Perfect example of how to reply! Thank you!

Thank you SO much, I appreciate the way you formatted this reply. You gave a short concise account of what you discovered in your own words AND provided a link for others to where you found the information in case they need further clarification. Hopefully others will catch on and make this a standard community process... thank you again, now hopefully I can get NFS Shift back... I've paid for it twice now!
Hello guys. I have a problem with the market. When i go to new applications or games, it says to force stop because of "android.vending.com". I have not rooted my phone. I even restored to the manufacturer settings which deleted all my apps, games, passwords etc, but nothing. The market got an update after restore and does again the same thing. Any suggestions? I searched on xda and google for this problem, but i did not get a straight answer what to do.
I always get force close whenever I try to scroll on the "Just in" list. Both Games and Applications. Can't find anything on the web about this problem
Exactly that. ONLY at just in apps or games. I don't know what else to do. Maybe we're lucky that is happening only at just in and not in the whole market as some users report
I can't find a definitive answer to this. My understanding of CM is Gapps need to be installed in order to get market, maps, etc... I installed CM7 on my touchpad today. Everything went very smooth. I never installed gapps. After the initial boot up it took me through the gmail account setup. After that was done it downloaded all of the apps I currently have installed on my phone from the market to my touchpad? Now the part that confuses me. When I uninstall an app from my touchpad, it also uninstalls it from my phone? Is there an option to stop this somehow? If it makes any difference I'm using a rooted HTC Thunderbolt, running a sensed Rom.
Ok after thinking about my question and reading more. I am not completely familiar with ACMEinstaller. I got to thinking that the installer reads what I placed in the cminstall folder and installs all of the .zip files I placed in it? If that is true, I did install gapps inadvertently, I planned on seeing what the device looked like without before I installed it. I was going to go back to the recovery and install it after I familiarized myself with CM a bit. Either way, if I did install gapps, is it possible to unlink these apps from the apps currently installed on my phone, or should I just make an extra gmail account specifically for my touchpad?
They actually shouldn't be linked as far as my knowledge. Even if you have back up this device with google account selected. I have that on both my devices Atrix on CM 2.3 and my Touchpad. I have not experienced what you have. I will look into it some but someone might know something exact before i reply
I thought it was odd. I uninstalled an app that was of no significance on the touchpad. Restarted my phone and it disappeared from my phone to?
I've been having like the same issue, if I go to the android market on the browser and check the devices assosiated to my account, it does not show my tp just my phones. Has anyone found a solution for this?? if somebody has, please share it... Thanks
If you hit menu button - settings - accounts you can click on your gmail account and unselect syncing.
I think that might do the trick with it syncing with your phone.
Or if all else fails, just create a new gmail account specific for the TP.
Hi,
Backstory:
I recently had my S2 serviced and lost all the apps I had installed.
For some reason, Marketplace didn't keep track of apps I downloaded, so I couldn't get some of the apps which I lost.
Problem:
There was a wallpaper app, I have been using from long time, but even after searching a lot I couldn't locate it. Thing is most of such apps have generic names and the search doesn't really help. I can't be sure whether its still hosted on the marketplace or not, been close to 6 months since I installed it for the first time.
This app has a water wave on the startup splash screen.
So silly it may sound, I am kinda restless cuz I'm not able to find it. Please help me here. Thanks and hope this doesn't get closed.
Have you tried checking your account on the market website?
I found apps that i had installed on my old HTC Hero that i had forgotten about listed under my transactions.
https:/ /market.android.com/
Dave, no it doesn't show up in my orders/transactions.
If it did, I wouldn't have open this thread.
There are two areas to the market website. One has only purchases. While the other has all apps on the other device or old device. I use that to reinstall everything on my phone after a flash.

^mate, it doesn't show in My library as well.
Found my wallpaper app, it has been removed from Marketplace.
Get it from here

I just bought my Nook Tablet form BBuy. It's firmware 1.4.0 I installed some 3rd party apps (Aldiko, kindle, amazon store which work fine. However, I have issues with ADW and Launcher Pro, and I can only get some apps to run. I know that is a a common issue, but I would like to delete the apps that do not work and launchers, but I cannot find out how. I have no need for two launchers, so I'd like to delete Launcher pro -because it wont even launch- but I cannot figure out how to do it. Also gmail -which I read all over this site works- does not work, and I would like to delete it as well. It still pops sup in my searches so I know it's installed somewhere. My other issue is launching ADW. The only way I can get it to launch is when I power off the device and it auto launches into it on power up. If I search for any combination of ADW it does not come up in my lists. So if I exit ADW I have no way to get back into it. Any help would be great. I'm just about to throw this thing out a window and just get a Fire instead.
Okay so i'm a noob at the nook tablet myself but i'll try to give you some ideas..
The apps that don't run.. you don't say.. but i can tell you that honeycomb apps probably won't work so you'd need to make sure they are not for that version of android
This thread gives you great apps that work on the nook tablet
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1353040
you should definitely consider loading app Manager to have side loaded apps appear on the nook home screen.. and Button Saviour so you can get to the alternate home screen (launcher pro, go launcher whatever you use..)
There is great info in this forum. and honestly it took me a day of reading but now my nook rocks...
I've been using my nook for almost a week and i can tell you it's a great little tablet for the price.. i bought it after selling my ipad2 and wanted something to use whilst waiting for the ipad3.. i can tell you now.. i'll be keep this nook tablet as it is a great size for reading and covers all my surfing and movie watching needs.. the kindle fire is good but having also owned that for a couple of days before returning.. i can tell you the limited storage space and inferior screen put me off...
Lol. I had read thatbthread at least 4 times and never saw how to delete apps until now. Installed google framework and now my youtube app doesnt work, and gmail still doesnt work.
You need to install NTHiddensettings.apk in order to delete apps from the Nook.
As I mentiined, I figured out how to delete, but does anyone know where the apk.s download to so i can remove, after installing them?
Seriously? No one knows where the apks download to? Also, how in gods name do you get gmail to work side-loaded. All my other questions have been answered per linked thread.
/data/app
And did you root and install gapps? Without that, I don't think you're going to be able to use gmail.

No not rooted. People are claiming successful installation of gmail, google+, and other google services specific apps, but I get the "Unable to establish stable connection" every time I try to side load them.

Are you saying others have side loaded these apps without rooting? I don't think they work without the Google services framework, which you have to root to install.
