[Q] Packages not signed correctly, Eclipse - Motorola Droid X2

Hi all! I would post this in the Eclipse thread, but I don't have the rights, nor am I sure that its the ROM itself giving me a problem.
Im running Eclipse 1.3 on my DROID x2. Everything is working smoothly, except for one thing: I cannot update specific apps, namely Google Maps, Superuser or Google Voice. The Market gives me a "package was not signed correctly" error.
Any way for me to fix this?
Thanks. -W

I would also get these errors from time to time. I never looked into it though. I will trytl to find you an answer but I'm sure that someone already has one.
Edit: read this page of the eclipse thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1198857&highlight=package+-signed&page=352
Tells you exactly what you need. And its a simple fix!

Thanks! Guess I didn't really look hard enough in the thread, sorry! D:

Na, there's hundreds of pages to sift through in that thread. It's all good.

Google maps always kept giving me that error on Eclipse. Until today. It had an update and it updated fine. I didnt do anything different. It just "fixed" itself.

[Q] Dx2 Cant Root

Ok, i'm not a noob but i'm not the best at this stuff either. i have searched for the past 3 days. Got my DX2 the other day coming from a droid incredible. Day one of the incredible i had it rooted, then had it S-off not far after.
Day one with the dx, havent done much research. Get the phone, check for system updates, it says it has an update for 2.3.3. O yay, i don't have to wait to get gb on here. woohoo. DL it while at work since i shouldn't be playing on the phone anyway.
Get home. go online to try see what i have to do to get root so i can get some screen shots going and just all around get it back to the feel of having control of my phone. see a few ways of root, all of them saying to sbf back to 2.2. Well damn, wish i hadnt updated. Ok, lets try this sbf thing.
IDK why, but it won't let me sbf. Ive tried. Several times. No dice, always says failed.
Lets keep looking. O yay, a one click method for the ota GB?!?! woohoo!! i try it....try it several times. try it more times.....WTMFHELL!!???!!!?? i got nothing. i don't know why it wont let me root it...but it wont. if anyone has any advice, any tips...anything at all, i'm all ears. i've tried sbf, i've tried the adb commands but for some reason it won't let me use adb, says java isn't in the path, cant fix it. tried one click, different variations of one click. i got nothing
build number 4.5.1a-dtn-117-15
if anyone can help me i would greatly GREATLY APPRECIATE IT
sorry for the long wind
thanks for your time
-Typhoone
There is a one click root that i just used on a freinds phone and it worked great and you don't have to do any of that sbf'ing or anything...

not fast enough
Thats the thing, I've done that one. 2 versions of it. Said I should have root. No dice. Checked through connect bot just to see. still have the $ instead of the #. No busy box, no nothing.

is ther an app called superuser in your app drawer with a kinda droid pirate icon?
Did you install moto drivers? Maybe its an adb problem...adb can be tricky what os are you using on computer?

go to market and download app called busybox installer, it will give you options to what version of busybox you want...select 1.18.2 and try to install.
Won't open. Can't run, may be because it doesn't have root rights

Maybe try to sbf to froyo 2.2 and then install P3's Rooted GB update, have you tried that?
it won't let me sbf, keep getting a failure every time i've tried.
does it try to sbf then fail? Does the phone show up in RSD?
Try a different sbf file maybe the one you have is corrupt.
WWW.k33pw1shen.WordPress.com I have all the files over there

The only reason I referred you there is someone commented on my page that they had tried a couple different things and mine was the only one that worked

tried it using a different sbf file and a different usb port on my comp and its in the process of makine me feel like it just may work.
just rebooted and
bootlooped. lol

Side note, none of the screen cap apps on the market work on the x2. I believe it's a tegra 2 issue.
Someone wrote an app called "Screen Grabber" for the Atrix that works perfectly on the x2.

Anyone know how to freeze the "Music Store" app in the Atrix ported ROM?

Sorry for making a whole new thread, but it won't let me post in that thread because I don't have 10 posts yet.
I just flashed this: STOCK 2.3.4 Gingerbread 4.5.91 Atrix 4G Port. I figured out how to freeze a couple of things I didn't want except for the "Music Store" app. I have Titanium Pro and I don't see it listed anywhere. It must be listed under a different name in there, or something.
Other than that, everything is working excellent.
You have to freeze music. Package deal.
That's what I did, cause I'm an ubermusic kind of guy...

New market 3.1.5 is not showing all applications when searching

I am currently on update 4.5.1a-1 sun 154 and for some reason the new market will not allow me to see all apps when searching. I have uninstalled updates and then I can see all apps. The problem is that it updates after I close the market to the newest 3.1.5. I am not rooted and wanted to see if there was a fix for this.
Anyone else seeing this issue. In particular when I search for go launcher ex themes, I get 3700 some odd apps but can only see maybe 20 of them.
Yeah I got that too...

How long has this market been out? Back in the hero days sometimes it would take a day or two for the protected apps to show up because the device finger print wasn't recognized .

Had this problem the market was switching to another Gmail account besides my main one. Went to menu accounts and pick my default one and everything was good to go.

which menu? from the market? i've tried that... still changes to different accounts and i don't understand why...
If this is happening to new users than something is wrong. I am assuming your saying to swap to another Gmail account and then choose the first one as default. In a sense I'm guessing its refreshing your Google account. Would a hard reset do the same?
I have only one google account and it is stilll doing it

It's happened a few times to me. I found that uninstalling updates from manage apps, and letting it update itself works. Might not update right away, but it will eventually.

I'm going to try a hard reset even though I really don't want to. Ill report back how it works.
Hard reset dis nothing but cause me more work. I really want to get this fixed. I might have to flash the newest build on the developer side
Although I have an rooted HTC Desire I'm coping with the same problem. A few days ago my market self updated to 3.1.5 and from then on I have this problem.
To fix this I gone through all the missing installed apps form the market on the market webpage (from PC) and installed them from there. They updated so I didn't had to uninstall then reinstall and thus re-setup everything up. Some apps I reinstalled as well but whatever I did It was only a temporary solution. After a while all those apps went missing again.
I hope someone would fix this.

I'm having the same feeling that this is Google's fault. I only want to know if this is happening on unrooted devices as well, namely if it does, then the answer is clear, it's a Market bug. Can someone confirm this issues on unrooted devices?

Yes some searches limit the amount of apps that can be seen. It will say for example 400 appear but you can only see a very small amount of them. This doesn't happen on the old market.

I don't think you can "cheesecake" for it. It just comes to you.
Yea the soak test is currently live and my X2 is currently updating. Once the update is done i will post what the new version is and or new kernel.
Done with the update and it's 2.3.5 with kernel - [email protected] #2
Did you lose root access? I was curious, how can you download just to dissect? Unless you can somehow download it to your computer instead of your phone. I am sure Moto has locked to BL even further, only to be able to laugh in all of our faces once again. Anyways, watching this thread for further updates.
Yep Kernel seems different and some other stuff in that menu has changed as well.
Very interesting, I wonder why Moto is going to 2.3.5 and not 2.3.6.
A soak test at this point just seems useless. They have to have something big planned.

The only way to pull the file from your /cache is to download only, it gets deleted from /cache if you let it UD automatically.
don't think you can access cache, unless rooted
and think cache is wiped after update is installed
but i could be wrong

Correct.
You don't need to unrooted to DL the UD, just on your cheesecake (stock) nand OR sbf & root.
apply voodoo
DL the update
copy & paste UD.zip to SD
run the UD from stock recovery
run voodoo
rooted again
Got the email
Got the e-mail, sbf-ing from CM7, but going to note e-fuse values first, in case it changes them which could be an indication of a brick upon downgrading. I'll also try to get an update.zip for you

Factory reset.

I have had my X2 for 8 months and had been having problems with several apps force closing and the phone generally lagging quite a bit even using apps like Fast Reboot and Air Droid and task managers to clear the cache. It is still unrooted so I decided to just do a factory reset. After the reset, I have noticed a considerable difference in app loading and performance. It works like it did when it was new.
Any one have any suggestions as possible reasons why this would make it work better. I was simply experimenting with it, and it turned out working to my advantage.
I still have another year left before an upgrade, so I don't plan on rooting it before then. But are there any other things I can do or apps I can use to keep the performance like new without having to do another reset six months down the road.
I really love my X2 but with all of the trouble I had been having with apps and lagging, it was making me consider jumping ship to Apple. I just don't think I could deal with the small screen on an iPhone and the lack of customization.

I really wouldn't try and load a bunch of stuff like you had mentioned. Alot of that is just more memory useage and tasks to run. There really nothing wrong with having all of that. But its still there and still runs a risk of slowing things down a tad. Once in a while, clear your cache files and it really shouldn't give you any trouble.
On the otherhand..... why not root it and open that thing up? There are several stable ROMs like Eclipse and CM7 that will really make your experience with the X2 better. You can 9 times out of 10 always go back to right out of the box so there's no need to worry about messing up something or "loosing your warranty." Root, flash and let her ride!!
it's more like, 99.999999%of time you can go back to stock
just need a decent pc, to run rsd lite or ezsbf, to get back, if you have any problem

also, how in the hell can you enjoy looking at blur with all those damned bloatware?
Even if you don't want to mess with roms and stuff you could always root to freeze bloatware.

Sounds like you didnt install the gapps file along with the ROM. That file contains all the Google stuff including the services to sync with Google. You can find the link to that file in the same CM7 thread.
I did install the gapps and it said it flashed successfully. If it was flashed successfully, should my contacts be available?

If you flashed the ROM and the gapps, it should be fine. Are you sure you downloaded the gingerbread gapps and NOT the ICS or Jelly Bean?
Did you check to see if your contacts outside of Google was there before deleting anything?
You could also sign in to your gmail on a PC and click on contacts. If they are there you should be able to port them over.
