Hello,
I had 4.0.2.A.0.42 installed for a while and since mid last week, my phone gets spontaneous restarts.
It's happening basically anytime, even in the middle of the night whitout doing anything.
Today, I wiped everything , installed a stock ROM on .38 and then took the official upgrade from SE, so I am back to .42.
It still crashes.
Is there a way to get a crash log to check why it crash?
DO you reckon it could something faulty?
Thanks
Rooted? Bootloader unlocked?
via Sony Ericsson Xperia
I am joining to question. neo restarts also
My Neo rooted and bootloader unlocked.
I had random reboots when using blend_MIUI by JasonStein. Maybe that had the same cause?
Hello,
No root, no bootloader. Nothing "hacked" or custom FW.
Thanks

download update service http://sonyericsson.com/cws/support...ds/subject/updateservice/1.675329?cc=gb&lc=en and try to repair your firmware.
I already did that.... and I already reinstall the FW from scratch too.
Maybe I should reinstall to a lower firware and see if it happens or not.
Problem is that it started suddenly last week without doing anything. I haven't installed anything new for ages.

agreed, have done a downgrade myself tonight and it worked no problem
Do the steps from the flashtool guide work in 2.3.3? Or is something else needed?
I did a backup with backup and restore and didn't know that it no longer works on gingerbread (damn SE that doesn't tell that on pc companion or seus)
I Can not Downgrade with flashtool
In middle of progress say : " aborted "
I stuck on flashing loader for about 10 minute then aborded
Yes, it's possible to downgrade from 2.3.3. to 2.1. I do it maybe 6-7 times in the last 24 hours without problems with flashtool 0.2.9.1. Try to change the USB port on your computer, remove the battery of your phone, llet pass 2-3 minutes put back battery WITHOUT turning on the phone and follow the instruction of flashtool.

Yes.
You can flash any firmware onto any phone.
If you get an error/abort, just do it again.
Or try FlashTool 0.2.8 (I have issues with 0.2.9).
Hello there,
To start off, I am new to Android system but now, I am comfortable at using it.
My Device: Sony Ericsson WT19i
Firmware Version: 4.0.2.A.0.58
Root Status: Rooted
Did some googling on how to root phone, and successfully rooted my phone and same time found out that .62 version of my phone's firmware is not rootable so stayed positively there for a month.
Now seeing other users CM7, CM9, CWM(ClockWorkMod) and other stuff which I don't even know made me crazy to test them out too. Besides, sony's stock rom is getting on my nerves.
So, what do I do now? Could anyone direct me on
1. Updating to .62 and still be able to root.
2. Custom Mods? How?
A big thank you for going through this.
Regards,
GaNi
first unlock your bootloader and flash custom kernel..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1560613
Doing OTA update on your phone will keep root. It means, if you have .58 firmware and root, and you do update via 3G or Wifi on your phone to .62, root stays the same.
For custom mods, you should first get familiar, what is ROM, kernel, what these do. Then it will be easier for you.
As for custom ROM, you will need custom kernel, which will require unlocked bootloader, which can be done via official method on Sony website, or via test point method(S1Tool). Either way you lose your warranty.
Regarding bootloader, look at screenshot please.
Do I still unlock it?
@someguy
The country which I reside costs a freaking lot for an MB, OTA updates could be my last alternative.
PS: Could we able to set the status back to normal so it doesn't look like it got it's warranty voided?

Yes, you can unlock the bootloader, both ways.
You can later on relock bootloader, then it will appear like this again.
OTA update can be done over WiFi also on your mobile.
Tried to do an OTA. Now it shows my phone is already on the latest software. No idea.
I decided to flash it with STOCK .62 ROM.
Is this ROM good to by flashed with? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1560660
Author say's it rooted already. I'll just use a flash tool.
try to unlock bootloader first
Unlock bootloader on .58?
You say if I have .58 rooted phone and make OTA with Wi Fi, my phone will still be rooted. I try that, download update, mobile restart itself, but and the end of process show message "Error, cannot update"
I dont wont to unlock bootloader because I dont need custom kernel, I only need update stock kernel .62.
Thanks for reply.

Custom ROM also requires custom kernel.

is kernel changing with changing rom or it stays until you change it?

I think you need Flashtools to flash a custom kernel (assuming the bootloader is previously unlocked) with ClockWork Mod (CWM) bundled.
After flashing the custom kernel, you reboot into CWM mode (depends on your phone model), erase system memory and install the new ROM (which should be in a .zip file in your SD Card).
Was anyone able to get "Ad Hoc" wpa_suplicant working for Live?
Hi all,
I am currently using a ICS based custom rom on my LWW and the battery drain is driving me insane.
I'm hoping that I can simply install GB (with root access) then begin to uninstall all the unnecessary programs accordingly.
My question is what is the simplest method in doing this? I thought about installing 4.0.2.A.0.62 version but I don't know how to gain root access in this (.58 is easy to get root access on). In searching for solutions, people on this forum agree that a person should flash to .58 then do a OTA update to reach .62. However when i did this (through wotan server) I selected Australia (where i'm from) but was only given the option to upgrade to ICS version, not the .62 GB
I am just wondering what is the simplest way i can get .62 and also get root access?
Regards
Jay
P.S: I'm looking for a simple GB version but all seem to be quite heavily modded (plain .62 GB version with the basics mods ) which seem to have few glitches/bugs
You don't need to purchase the firmware for your region, just use a generic :good:
Search for a .42/.58 firmware, root it and do an ota update (via wifi) to .62
How to root is in my rooting guide!

Hey
Ok, i did get manage to get to .58 and then got a option of upgrading to .62. However my phone stopped working (green blicking every time i tried turning it on). The phone refused to turn on.
I used the 'UnbrokingXperia2011' pack listed on the tutorial to get my phone working.
At the moment it's charging and is on .58. I just received the upgrade message (upgrade to .62) to upgrade. I'm wondering will this do it again?
I read that if I have a unlocked bootloader, it causes issues?
I still have no way to upgrade to .62 with root access

Yes, OTA updates brick the Phone if your bootloader is unlocked.. I came across this yesterday while searching for links for my guide - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1688980 - which you could try.

Hi there,
Thank you, yes on my third attempt i was successful
YAY! .62 with root!
However believing that i should flash custom kernal, i flashed X kernel 2.6.32.59 (flashed wlan fix then kernal) without wiping anything - just went into recovery and flashed it straight. Everything works fine except i can't turn on my wifi :/
I tried replacing it with Rage Kernal 3.0 but it still get an error when i try to turn on wifi.
I'm hoping i don't have to reflash the whole thing
Thank you
Edit:
I cleared Dalv Cache and then flashed the wlan again but i'm still receiving the error. I should of backed up my wlan
Any way to solve this issue?

Hi there,
Ok
These are the steps i followed:
Flashed the X Kernal via FlashTools
Booted to home
Turned off phone then rebooted into CWM
Flashed the wlanv4 zip
Rebooted home
Tried to turn on wifi but getting the same message, "Error"
So then i did the same thing again but before i flashed the wlanv4 zip, i wiped the Dalv Cache to see if it made a difference. It didn't
Still stuck with the same "Error"
Also tried to flash bbooff;s Kernal through CWM and flashboot.
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25499983&postcount=101
but getting the same error
Edit 2:
Ok, i reflashed the whole thing. I'm now stuck again :/
After rooting .58 then using the Xperia-Root option given by puppet13th i keep getting a white blinking light with reboots. It just going round and round.
Argh!
Just need a simple .62 GB for LWW with Root! hehe
Damn i need to ask someone to do it for me. I tried doing it on my own but it didn't work out the way i wanted it to be (reboot loop).
Sigh*
Edit 3:
Is there a place i could request this? A rooted .62 LWW flashable rom? There doesn't seem to be one around on the forums (that i could find).
Regards
When you reflash the stock ROM is it restoring your WiFi?

Hi there,
Yes i am on .58 at the moment. It won't boot to .62 (White LED, continues to blink then phone reboots again) when i tried to follow the steps provided by puppet13th.
I have been looking and trying to figure out a way that i can make a rootable .62 for my LWW
I've zipped it under normal compression with WINRAR. Let's see how it flows ...
Wish me luck :fingers-crossed:

I'm having a horrible luck today lol
I'm getting a bootloop on rage kernal
Followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849867
but with no success
Sigh*
Formatted my so many times today lol, just to get .62 LWW rom with Root enable
Greetings all, first post here, so to get down to business, i have tried to root my z2, however the bootloader is not unlocked. Anyway, i have found a guide here to do it even with unlocked bootload, which required : downloading rooted mm and bootloop fix then saving them on my phone, afterwards i was suposed to download stock lolipop and flash it on my phone. After that when i turned on my phone it started omptimising applications and then when the phone booted up i started getting these messages in the title, and i couldnt even enter the settings or anything since it crashes on its own after several messages. If you could help me out that would be awesome, thx in advance
Did you wipe data when you downgraded or updated?

i think so yes, however i have fixed the problem by flashing the stock mm on it, now i have rooted the kitkat on phone, and am currently trying to find pre rooted mm to flash it on my z2
You should have cleaned dalvik-cache.
I recently bought used Z2 3gb/32gb version with .291 Marshmallow already installed.. Everything is good until later this evening, after 4 days of using it, I got notification about new system update. When I downloaded it and install, phone just reboot and 'Could Not Install Update" appears on home screen. I just wanted to asked if it really software update or just an error or something? Thanks in advance
I think .291 update was the last official update from sony.
I remember, there was a custom ROM for locked bootloaders, means based on stock, provided with many updated or ported apps from the Z5. There was a bug inside with the Sony update service. A potential update is available, but as i said - it was a bug in this ROM. The message can be ignored, just freeze the app.
The more important question for me would be - was the phone ever rooted, and if so, was or is the bootloader still locked, re-locked, or open. If the bootloader is open your drm keys are lost forever, if it's re-locked without restore the TA-partition, the keys are lost forever too. So, how is your camera quality in dark scenarios?
The thing is - if you bought an unlocked phone without that you know it, it's less worth than a 100% original phone. How much did you pay for it?
If you want to be sure, flash the latest fw with flashtool 0.9.18 , it was .291. The message should'nt appear again. There is and was NO Update available.
