Basically the title talks for itself. Connect the phone via usb to the pc and give my phone's data connection as internet to the pc. How can i do it ?

Please dont delete it. This helped me learn that SGS2 allows tethering both USB and Wifi.
I used to use my old Nokia 5800 as bluetooth modem. SGS2 tethering allows me to connect to mobile internet byPC over WiFi.

Connect phone to pc, go to settings>wireless and networks>tethering and portable hotspot and check 'usb tethering'. You can now access the internet.

I have cm7.... is it possible... i didnt tried stilled i will work it later
It works perfectly both using wireless tether and usb tether on mik's CM7 6.5, I'm certain it works in stock ROM's also.

Hello ,im from mumbai ,i also faced the same difficulty in accessing internet on pc ,so firstly connect your cell to pc via any method maybe wifi tethering ,usb tethering or a bluetooth connection ,when it shows connected ,you now need a software called as proxifier(search on google) ,then download it create a new profile and create an https proxy with address 10.0.0.10 and port address as 9401 and username should be any loop valid mobile number ,and then check the internet via any browser.

You could do it connecting the phone to the wifi, but if you want to connect the phone via USB and connect to the ethernet it's not possibile...

My bad, never heard about it... Anyway it seems to be very difficult to do and the guy reports some errors while doing it on windows...
This is the only way.... else no luck..
Go get your self a USB wifi router that's easy. Or any wifi router. Don't you have a old bsnl wifi router. Or ask the cabel net wala to give wifi router.

well i successfully did Reverse USB Tethering with the help of mycila blog .. as i also use ubuntu 11.04 with windows 7.. i neva try this on windows but i'm sure its easy on windows as well.. nd let me tell u i neva faced a single issue with it as i also use broadband for pc with no wifi... really handy whn u wanna install big apps or games in phone via market

There's no USB tethering for Ace . You could use hotspot tethering though .

Depends on who your provider is. My Ace has tethering when I bought it. Has tethering available with Fla.sh v1.

Don't believe that's been worked out yet point the ace. it it's possible on other droids I believe.

yup, it work on mine
just use it few days ago when i had problem with my net.
just tick USB tethering while ace is connected to your PC, and you'll get net on your PC, without even setting anything.
I tethers only because I have no other access to the internet. I use the usb tether, and it works. I even loaded the roms on my ace down
EDIT: Settings>Wireless & network>Tethering and mobile hotspot and her select usb tether. freely translated from German to English

On your phone in wireless and network settings look for
Tethering and portable hotspots enable/check usb tethering use must also enable USB debugging, then install this app below you will be able to detect your pc/laptop from your phone. And on your pc/laptop will see Android NDIS network.
You will have to put your own settings in example ip address gateway etc.
I have NOT made this to work Yet, but both my phone and laptop can see each other. so it it a setting/config. Some one somewhere did mention it might be MTU settings I cant remember where I saw this but we are going too far now.

install usb drivers for your phone
you should have internet activated on your phone.
connect phone to pc
settings->wireless&network settings->tethering & portable hotspot->usb tethering (enable usb tethering)

Just goto Setting > wireless and networks > More settings > Tethering and portable hotspot > USB tethering
That should do it for you.
I think he wants to reverse tether by the sound of it, I think there may be an app that allows this, check play store

yes, that's the idea, i have internet on the computer and NOT on the SGSIII. And want to share the computer internet to the SGSIII via usb..

thanks, i found two apps as well but with not so good feedback and it requires a rooted device, which it isn't yet and, also, we could "navigate" but not use playstore.. :S but thanks anyway.. will have to buy a 3g router to acess via wireless..
