and I left it once once till it reached half an hour with no change, so what's wrong
ps my firmware is S5830JXKA3
Did you start ODIN as administrator?
The start thread behavior is normal.
If you fw not kpe. You should have kpe first. Or flash all file from villainrom. Not just pda!
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA App
1st, run as administrator (if using vista / 7)
2nd, use other cooper.ops file
install this driver http://goo.gl/YpgvN and run ODIN as Admin (right click menu - run as admin)
it maybe that kies is runnin in the backround, use task manager to kill it and flash all files that is given in the villain rom file
I am also having problem to upgrade from 2.2.1 to GB.
I have downloaded and installed the driver and make sure no kies is running but yet I still have problem in upgrading my ace to GB

Hey!
Try to change the USB port. And dose the ODIN detect you phone? Dose you phone in "DOWNLOAD" mode? To put you phone in download mode, shut down the phone. Now hold together THREE buttons(HOME+POWER+VOL.DOWN). Hold them until you see in screen DOWNLOADING. Now you can release buttons.
CHEERS!
Finally the problem is from the PC, probably some USB device clash with odin. After using another PC, I am able to flash my ace now.
Thanks again.
When I flash the firmware for my galaxy ace with odin, it comes out "an unnamed file was not found".
The list of files in the tar file is as following,
$ tar tvf S5830DXKC1.tar

Code 5 is usally because Kies is running. Run task manager and go to Processes > end all *kies* processes. Turn off phone, remove battery, hold Vol D, Home and Power, insert battery and connect to PC.

You were NOT supposed to UPDATE from your SDCard .
You're supposed to use "install zip from sdcard" instead of "apply update" .
tnx master russ18uk now is running install
EmoBoiix3 i think the option install zip from sdcard not available on gingerbread
i don't remember wha't is the option i was used to running the update

Who i can do that ?
I have a problem with stock ICS Roms (LPQ):
no Lockscreen, Screen on puts me directly on my Homescreen
no Radio (it is installed and works with cm7, but Stock ICS never ask me for PIN so no connection
long press on power shuts down the phone directly
CM9 works!
I flashed the ROM with heimdall:
heimdall flash --repartition --pit odin/u1_02_20110310_emmc_EXT4.pit --factoryfs factoryfs.img --cache cache.img --primary-boot boot.bin --secondary-boot Sbl.bin --param param.lfs --kernel zImage --modem modem.bin --hidden hidden.img
was this wrong? i am very confusing, because it seems i'm the only one with this problem.
I think it is related to this procedure, because it affects every Stock ICS based Rom including MIUI v4.

solution was:

First of all see the case from @shazzl - HERE. Brick i9205 solved.
We must have our debrick.img on extSdCard to caution if we brick our phone. This is made from pit.file like we see on updater_script from the .zip (partition mmcblk0).
Download the .zip attached, flash it in your preferred recovery (CWM or TWRP) and it will create the dump file needed for this debrick method from @KAsp3rd See it HERE. Thanks @[B]KAsp3rd[/B]
Once you have flashed it you will find a file called debrick.img on your internal sdcard. It should be 128MB in size. Copy it to extSdCard and to Your Pc.
For a I9205 bricked We can use the method from @KAsp3rd, used by @shazzl. Thanks by Your guide.
I created already my Sdcard prepared by Win32DiskImager from Windows option.
See also THIS help from @DocHoliday77. Thanks @DocHoliday77.
Replace T999 by Your phone name.
Make that, take care.
PS: If You upgrade from 4.2.2 to 4.3 make new debrick.img. The contents inside pit.file can have differences.
EDIT: New HARD BRICK fixed on one Note 3 N9005 4.4.2 Kitkat. Whit success, see it HERE.
Replaced the titre to:
[HARD-BRICK Fixed] I9205 Make your debrick.img and have it on extSdCard by security
Thaks for this unbrick solution. Now we can root and flash away
so what exactly do i need to put on my external sd card I am confused....

It's simple.
- Put the .zip on Sdcard
- By custom recovery flash it.
- You have on internal Sdcard the debrick.img file.
- Copy it to extSdCard to be safe.
It's all.
Hi..how can i make this debrick.img file out of the .pit file for the i527m mega or get the partial sys dump files, as it does not explain on how to make the partial sys dump files..could somebody shed some light on this part..thanks.

Just flash the zip file from recovery. That's all you need to do. Then use windiskimage to write the image to a sdcard.

I am still confused then as i thought you use the I9200-Partial_Sys_Dump_for_debrick or I9205-Partial_Sys_Dump_for_debrick to flash with the recovery to get the debrick.img file, but how do you make these I9200-Partial_Sys_Dump_for_debrick or I9205-Partial_Sys_Dump_for_debrick files that have this META-INF folder (with the update-binary and updater-script are in) and dd file inside the zip file, in my case for the i527m..thanks. :good:
pit file location ( mmcblk0 ) is the same for all samsung phones afaik.
Don't get confused by the zip file names. All it does is this.
run_program("/tmp/dd", "if=/dev/block/mmcblk0", "of=/sdcard/debrick.img", "bs=1M", "count=128");;

I tried on Terminal Emulator, not work for me.
The original Mod is This: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45725480&postcount=45 Thanks @DocHoliday77
After have looked the updater_script from .zip I only replace the name T999 to I9205 or N9005 or I9195, but the Mod is always the same:
package_extract_file("dd", "/tmp/dd");
set_perm(0, 0, 0777, "/tmp/dd");
ui_print("Data Dump running...");
run_program("/tmp/dd", "if=/dev/block/mmcblk0", "of=/sdcard/debrick.img", "bs=1M", "count=128");;
delete("/tmp/dd");
PS: You can rename Your to i527m-Partial_Sys_..... no problems, must work also. Or use the T999... is same.

@ValenteL, here is the thread where I've exposed my problems.
To make short, my phone harbricked, @Silesh.Nair drove me to solution (by you and @shazzl). But I stuck in Odin with this : I MISS pit file. Could you help me please? Where can I found this file, and what to do with?
I quote me :
so I've test with your file but doesn't work. I've also tried with the one in the thread , nothing too.
In fact the phone boot but not totaly as it's supposed to do. I press power button then vibrate and then the logo doesn't appear but there is this screen :
Code:

SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
KNOX KERNEL LOCK: 0x0
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x0
[COLOR="Gray"]QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
BOOTLOADER AP SWREV: 1[/COLOR]
----------------------------------------
I can't go into any mode (download or recovery), just boot to the screen above.
I've tried to "ODIN" a firmware ( I9205XXUAMG7_I9205XEFAMG1_I9205XXUAMG5_HOME.tar.md5 that I had on pc ) : when plug phone it tells me "added" with blue item (so normal no ? ), *.md5 = good analysis. But when I click on start it tells me that I miss PIT file

Hi @Mukiai
I have here my pit file attached-2 created whit cmd attached-1 for I9205, and I made it on XX Rom. But You try to flash one ZH, differente regions. I don't know if it work.
You have also the PIT analyzes where you see the inside from Pit file. (Identifier is the partition number).
I never tried this, but if You need try on Odin in PIT. Try this at Your responsibility, alright?
I hope this help to solve Your problem.
PS: The cmd attached-1 is only to devices until 16 GB.
EDIT: I retourned to Your post and You have There is no PIT partition. It seem that is the partition that not exist and not the Pit file.
Try that but if not work may be the partition must be created. For that I unknown how we must make. May be using a debrick.img???
I had a same case on N8000 about partition efs deleted, it must been created before include the efs files. Have HERE my case. I don't know if some Dev's can help like this example for efs on Post #4. May be @Silesh.Nair can help. Thanks.

It's normal. The sdcard have 17 partitions but the windows only see the first from 64 MB. 16 are hidden for windows.
You can see them on Control Panel / Admnistrative Tools / Computer Management / Storage / Disk Management (local) ...
and here You see the sdcard, may be F: whit 17 partitions.
Power off on Mega, put the sdcard, Power and must be something to work on it. It write the first 128 MB from emmc, pit file included. And use the guide from @shazzl .
Here I can't help more because I never had a hard brick and not make all process. I made only the sdcard to debrick and analyzed it on Pc.

See the guide from @shazzl to debrick:
1. If your phone only detected QHSUSB_DLOAD follow this guide.
2.1. Download Win32DiskImager
2.2 Download debrik.img thank to @ValenteL for the file.
2.3 Unzip both items and run win32diskimager
2.4 Select Image File debrick.img
2.5 Select Device ( put your sdcard in 16gb or 32bg )
2.6 Click write ( note this will format your sdcard plz backup your data )
2.7 After finish put your sdcard to your phone. you will se a magical your phone will boot.
3.1 After it boot turn off the phone and go to download mod.
3.2 Open odin and flash the stock frameware ( i flash I9205XXUCML1 )
4. After boot go to setting, more storage and format your sdcard
This is not for soft bricked devices.
This is for hard bricked devices that cant go into recovery or download mode.
This is for devices on the Version 2 Bootloader like samfail v2 or any normal V2 bootloader.
It may work on other bootloader versions with some modification.
If you have a hard bricked device let me know and I will help you test this.
I don't want to just post the files and have people cause bricks by flashing this to non-v2 bootloaders.
People with other versions of the bootloader and a bricked device let me know and we will test some things.
If you need this let me know and we will do some testing.
How to Unbrick
First you need to install the drivers for QDL.
Option A is to install QPST.
I think then the drivers will automatically install in windows when you connect a device in edl mode.
Or you can manually choose the driver to install if you know how.
I will upload both.
Get the device in EDL mode.
It might go automaticall (hopefully).
If not you need a EDL Cabel or Deep Flash Cable.
Theres instruction around how to make one.
After device is in edl mode and connected to the computer open windows device manager.
Under Ports you should see .
https://photos.app.goo.gl/ibD8KYy9GVQFvJheA
I doubt you will see Portable Devices. I have it because of a special sd card.
After you see Qualcomm-HS-USB QDloader under ports your ready to unbrick.
Copy the N950U2 FOLDER TO C:\ ON YOUR COMPUTER.
Open command prompt as administrator.
In search bar in windows type cmd
Right click on command prompt and run as administrator.
cd to the n950u folder
Code:
cd c:\N950U2
https://photos.app.goo.gl/VzJjwsU6NWLdyDCc6
type
Code:
N950U2_Recovery.bat
You should get this window.
https://photos.app.goo.gl/F7hcuPCCqrci9A1KA
type the com port of your edl device and hit enter.
Be sure to copy the log in the terminal window and save it to share with us later.
Heres the files.

After the flash completes the phone should boot to download mode.
If not try to boot it to download mode.
Look at secure boot status and all of that when you boot to download mode.
If you dont see it power the device off then reboot into download mode again.
Were looking for any change in the bootloader status.
Maybe the edl bootloader is unlocked.
After that its just normal flash by ODIN back to whater you were on.
PLEASE REPORT BACK YOUR EXPERIENCE WHEN YOU DO THIS.
Note I had screenshots but there not showing. Ill try to fix them. Just Click the links for now.

All links are working for me.
If you are going to flash the EDL let me know.
I would be grateful to help you see what the state of the edl bootloader is.
Possibly unlockable!!
Please update to BL v5 if possible.
Hey I just gave it a shot to the steps and it did not work. I think maybe because my n8 has a higher BL version, I think v5 actually. Thanks for the post. Hope you could help out updating the recovery to a BL v5. Here are the logs I got.

I am having the same problem and I was working off of the guide to install EDL and Root the Phone Here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/development/root-t3942403
I have been searching for a way to resolve the same behavior and found this post. I noticed the original Guide I followed did not have me install any Qualcomm drivers, I am HOPING to do so using the ones provided here may fix things.
I am also not really happy with the CMD script they used in both this and the other method, it makes the process harder by using a setp to pause at the end instead of a pause or something obvious and by setting the max lines on the CONsole to 40 which over-flowed my screen, so I had to comment it out. Also not sure why they didn't just list the ports in a menu and have you choose or try to guess for you based off how they get it. But thats just somme griping.
I am HOPINNG that the FACTORY BINARY >>>>>> screen I get to in my phone is "EDL" it's unclear to me from the info on these sites, rooting guides have continued to become less clear over the years assuming everyone knows every step like the back of their hands.
im stuck here too. its like I have no bootloader, and I cant flash. no download mode, no recovery. No light when I plug it in to charge...just upload mode. the phone was on BL 6.
Bricked here as well...Same error with failed to load flash programmer..Still stabbing at it with no results as of yet.
please keep me in the loop

A lot of people don't listen or read anything and @BigCountry907 specifically said this is for bootloader version 2 and it might work for others with "SOME MODIFICATION" but anyone with common sense would know this isn't going to work on version 5 of the bootloader!!

I beg the differ....I have actually got it to flash using the old bootloader jig for the older Notes..But it won't repair the eMMC portion...

My phone is currently the same. If only I could get into edl mode, it would be fixed. But I don't know how to get into edl mode using only hardware
Can I ask a question. A HOW TO exactly would be awesome. Ok I have Sm-N950U running 7.1.1 you know with the 80% only battery. All runs great. Its the Snapdragon version. HOW can I get it back to before I got it this way. Before I did all this it had.. I forget V6..somthing.
Or can you point me to somewhere that really explains this. Getting it to 7.1.1 seem easy vs now trying to get it back.
Thanks
Hi @BigCountry907, i used your method n950u2 with QFIL on my n950w (N950WVLS7DTA1) by enter EDL mode, but got no luck.
Below is the log of QFIL:

I also tried with eMMC Dongle app but no luck also.
Loading GUID Partition Table
EMPTY SKIPPING
=> it's mean the main partition is corrupted
Would you mind help me by teaching me the correct way to booting from sdcard then repartition the main Qualcomm’s memory?
The problem of brick: i messed up the Qualcomm’s partition while playing around with "boot.img dqmdbg.img.ext4 storsec.mbn msadp.mbn apdp.mbn sec.dat recovery.img NON-HLOS.bin xbl.elf tz.mbn abl.elf bksecapp.mbn keymaster.mbn cmnlib64.mbn rpm.mbn hyp.mbn cmnlib.mbn devcfg.mbn pmic.elf adspso.bin modem.bin" then flash with Oddin via BL slot.
Many thanks and best regards!
