Hi all, i'm searching for some info since yesterday. I have read (hoping) everything about how to unbrick this tablet (folio 100). A friend of mine tried to install cwm on his Toshiba F100 and got stuck with:
"magic value mismatch.
critical failure. unable to start kernel.
unrecoverable bootloader error (0x00000002)".
So, i was trying to repair it with nvflash. but, when i put it on APX mode, my pc won't see it. If i turn it on fastboot, my pc installs the driver for fastboot (so it can be seen on fastboot).
What to do if my pc don't want to see it on APX mode?? (using Windows 7 / 32 bit)
Thank you for your support
Reflash from fastboot?

Thank you for your reply. ok. i will try with fastboot. but where to look for info and what to install? i'm all kinda dizzie. i've read a lot on the forum, but i don't see exactly what to do (maybe i'm too stupid). it's much easier with my phone than with this tablet. thanks

Hoping some of you guys with a little more knowledge round here will be able to help with this one.
I believe I've USB bricked my Onda VI40 v3 16gb, I can't access the internal sd card and the device wont communicate with my pc when its connected by usb.
I have CWM Recovery installed and can access and flash roms from it but pretty much all of the guides to unbrick the usb require fastboot and I cant for the life of my work out how to get it on the Vi40.
Can anyone shed some light on how to access fastboot on the Vi40 or any other suggestions for unbricking the usb.
I have flashed multiple different roms on to the device in an attempt to fix it with no luck.
I can access an emulated terminal screen on the tablet when booted if thats of any help.
I have also tried the image_flash and mtd0.img fix but I don't know the devices CID so that doesn't work.
Thanks in advance.
Go back to the original rom
check what version is your onda vi40 by checking the serial numbers at the back (ex Xxxv3xxx) means its a v3.
then go to onda.cn and look for your version firmware.
you nay have to use Google translate.
now once you have downloaded the correct firmware version pls remember to rename the image file which is in Chinese to any English name. hmmm on second thought go to slatedroid.com and search for the onda forums they have a detailed English guide to help you.
don't panic, the same thing happened to me on my onda vi10 elite but my mistake was flashing a custom firmware. just like you I lost some partitions but when I flashed the original 4.03 v1.1 firmware and selected format the tablet is fine again.
Vi40 16gb v3 - can you flash using osx?
Hi all, my vi40 was connected to my MacBook pro the other night ttransfer some mp3s and I think I may have turned Off USB mode on the tablet before unmounting.
Now every time I try to install an app I get the "no space left" type message altjough there's about 15gb of space left.
Almost like permissions won't allow write
Downloading from play store starts but never completes
I'm thinking may be best to reflash the firmware?
I only have macs though.
If I have a mate with a vi40 same model would I be able to clone his onto my tablet using mac carbon copy cloner app maybe?
Cheers
Chris

Hi ,
Have you tried to reflash with livesuite ? if not then do it with a stock rom and reflash cwm from there no ? remember to enable "usb mode" by pressing menu key then plugging the tablet to the pc ( the menu key act as a temporizer for the tablet to be detected in that mode afaik)
Hello,
First off, I've gone through the forums and I have looked up other posts and despite everything I cannot figure out how to get my nexus 7 tablet to be recognized by the computer (I tried and after two days of searching for answers I decided to make a post). I like to include this information so people don't assume that I post without browsing or haven't tried anything yet.
The thing that I am having troubles with is that I have a nexus 7 tablet that is softbricked, I have already gone through a lot of ways to fix that problem (I found the best solution is this:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1809195). However, the issue is is that I cannot get my computer to recognize the nexus tablet to flash it and restore it back to factory settings.
I have installed and updated the device drivers on my computer, but still I have had no such luck. I found that ADB doesn't recognize the device whilst in the Bootloader, but still will not recognize the device in recovery mode. If anyone has any tips, or suggestions that might work PLEASE let me know, at this point I'm getting desperate and any/all help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

adb is not designed to be usable in bootloader mode. You need fastboot for that. If you have the fastboot.exe program in the same folder as your adb stuff, try this:
fastboot devices
If it reads, then all you need to do is fastboot flash the various .img files back to the tablet. There are tool kits that do this for you, but I prefer doing it manually as there are less chances of things messing up and if they do, you're more likely to know at what step which could be useful for further troubleshooting if need be. It is important to download the correct img files due to differences between the generations and wifi / data enabled ones. There is a flash-all script that you can find in the download of the factory images, which might make it easier, but you can just manually flash the separate files as sometimes you don't need to bother with them all (like the bootloader) though if the script works, then it'll be fine and might make it easier if you are not familiar with the commands.
If you don't have fastboot at all, just grab it from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790

You won't get adb in bootloader mode.
You have to use the fastboot command.
Please tell the OS on your computer.
Use the tool in my signature as an environment.
Download 7zip, and install that.
Then go here and download the proper image for your device.
It would either be "Factory Images "nakasi" for Nexus 7 (Wi-Fi)" or "Factory Images "nakasig" for Nexus 7 (Mobile)".
Grab the 4.4.2 version.
Extract the downloaded file with 7zip into the "Work" folder in the tool form my signature.
Then extract that "nakasig-kot49h-factory-83d93b5f.tar" file with 7zip.
Then go into the folder that came out of that, and extract the "image-nakasig-kot49h.zip" into the Work folder.
And enter the following commands while in bootloader.
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase cache
cd nakasig-kot49h
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot reboot
Make SURE you grab the correct image for your device. Wifi or Mobile.
I also assume that you know the .img files should be in the Work folder before you type thse commands into my tool.
Hey guys, first of all thank you for the speedy replies and steps I should follow.
Right now I'm using OSX but for the tablet I'm using a virtual Win7 machine to try and get this damn tablet to be recognized by the computer. The process is being delayed a little bit because my micro USB cords are being temperamental, meaning that the tablet has no juice, and when I mess with it (using the power + volume buttons to boot to bootloader/recover) the cord comes unplugged. I know automatically you guys are going to pinpoint this as the source of the issue (mainly because I would too), but it works fine if just laid flat and stays connected. It just has zero charge so when it disconnects/reconnects I literally have to power it back up, just need to wait for it to have some charge before I tinker with it more.
I will post updates after it charges.
Although I already thanked you guys, thanks again for speedy reply. It's much appreciated.

I suggest to STOP!!!
If you are trying to restore the device and the cable disconnects in the middle of it, it might not be recoverable. That would be one of the few ways to really damage the tablet as they are pretty difficult to hard brick. Don't half ass it with stuff like this. A good cable is not THAT much and will certainly be cheaper than a new tablet or getting it to a point where you might have to send it somewhere for service.
I'm not familiar with Macs, but if you are more so, then this might be better than using a Virtual set up:

It's actually working fine now (in the sense that the computer can now read it). The Virtual Machine also works just as good, but for some reason the toolkit I'm using won't properly return the tablet to the stock image using the SkipSoft Android ToolKit, so I'm going to have to try and find another way.
Thanks for your guys' help.
Hi there I think I have softbricked my Nabi 2. I tried to update the software from ICS to JB using files from the XDA Nabi 2 Wiki but have come to a massive problem. I can't boot back into TWRP because all I get is an Android laying down with an ! on his chest. I can't re-install TWRP because my Windows 8 PC can no longer see the device!! I can get into the tablet options menu with fastboot, forced recover etc. I think the biggest problem is getting the PC to see the device.
If I try selecting different options in the tablet boot menu then Windows will see the device as Android ADB Device or MTP USB Device.
Can anyone help me get over this problem? I'm not used to using shell commands but fear I will have to install the Android environment to use ADB to get things working.
Please help if you can as this tablet belongs to a nephew of mine and he is missing his YouTube. I am close to tears trying to find the solution. I have read and re-read XDA posts in case I missed something.
Many Thanks In Advance.

Hello. I'll try to explain my problem because I really need some help.
A few days ago, I was normally using my Tablet ECS TR10RS1 IntelĀ®.... I turned it off, went to sleep and the next day when I was going to use it again, the OS didn't start, so I tried and tried until I found a forum where they led me to restore a backup file because the original firmware/rom wasn't still available.... publicly. I tried that, but in the process, I accessed the EFI Shell... That wasn't trouble at all, I just plugged the keyboard and typed "exit", and then it let me to the BIOS... And that's when my real problem began: I restored the factory setting default... and it involves "disabling USB ports".... Now, AGAIN, I'm stuck on EFI Shell. But this time, I can not type "exit" since the keyboard is not recognized by the Tablet.
Then I pressed Vol UP + Power ON and I get access to another menu "DNX".... And that's what brings me here to your forum:
I was briefly reading that one of your members managed to flash the BIOS via DNX, so I was wondering if you guys could help me do that to my tablet because I'm not planning to have a really expensive paper holder.
Thanks in advance.
Jinky.
Not sure about your case. But as your tablet use clovertrail chip like my zenfone 5 n fonepad7 170CG, then there's some methods to unbrick like via fastboot, flashtool, or intel factory flash tool... all of above are required a valid firmware, at least a IFWI package then intel FFT can unbrick anyway. So try to find your need, as i tried to help u to find it, but most of webpages use spanish, then i didn't understand anything

I think you accidentally stumbled into the wrong forum. This one is for the P7500/7510 type 10.1 tablet... The very first one.
I'm betting you'll have better luck with your questions in the correct forum.
Sorry I couldn't help you more.
Best of luck.
