skinomi skin is junk - Eee Pad Transformer Accessories

The skinomi dark wood skin is kinda junky. It is darker than the one shown on the web. It does not completely cover the back, i am sure the backs are all the size so for it to be too small means they didnt really try to get it right. It comes with lots of small pieces but no instructions or diagrams to show where they go. None of them seem to go anywhere because none really fit in length around the edges or bevels. The top edge is long and uninterrupted but no piece is that long. The back skin constantly bubbles up around the edge. Overall its a poor fit and a poor design. With laser cutting you would think someone could get a perfect size and fit. If you are happy with average then go for it, if you want near perfect then look elsewhere.

thats weird..
most people hailed skinomi for their skin for our tf. Possibly you got a bad one? call them up and explain it to them. apparently their customer service is top notch and they will replace it for ya. worth a shot

I agree with uploder
Skinomi customer service is great. If you want to complain about the product complain to them. But, I have the dark wood skin on both my TF and HTC phone, and I am satisfied with the quality. True, the fit could be a little better for the large back piece, but it ain't that bad. I didn't use any of the small edge pieces because I didn't want to cover up the nice aluminum. I just used the large back piece and two front side edge pieces. It hasn't peeled or bubbled up around the edges at all. The installation is not easy to get right, so if you screwed it up, don't blame the product.

I love there skin on my atrix

Invisible shield...

I was thinking about purchasing an Invisible shield at a mall nearby, but just to make sure before i buy it, are there any bad things about it?

I only use it for the screen, not the full body coverage (thought it looked better unglossy)
It applies really well if you take your time and follow directions.
Looks as if you didn't use a screen protector at all.
Nice texture, nothing funny feeling.
Not really plastic more of a rubbery shield that doesn't break.
Doesn't blur or scratch (scratches can be buffed out basically.
Can easily be replaced through zagg (they will send you a new one for almost any excuse haha)
Only funny thing is that it kind shows a different looking effect when viewing at a small angle and when the phone is off (not a problem at all really...)
If you get it professional installed (like I did) it's well worth it. I got the full body and I notice that the little pieces that are cut to fit around corners come up over time, and the corners can fill with dirt and also peel up.
Since InvisibleShield comes with a lifetime guarantee against anything, it's well worth it. You can get it replaced anytime, question-free, just a $10 fee for installation. I've gotten it replaced 3 times over the 7 months I've owned my phone and it's well worth it :]. Fun to show off too!
i bought it online when they were running a promo on it (full body+screen).
after a afternoon of chilling and bbq'n i decided i would install it that same night.. bad move. i mean a few beers weren't gonna hurt right? lol
Its easy to install "after" you have tried it with a few pieces lol.
took me like 45mins and it came out good overall. the back corner piece does suck and is peeling off somewhat.
i would do this again but would rather have it done by a pro though
if your gonna do this yourself make sure you get it really wet and don't pull too hard on the material when your peeling it off the paper as this will look bad when you install it and after it dries.
lol i got a shieldskin, pretty much same thing as the invisishield, it covered 95% of the phone. A few weeks later i dropped my G1 on the pavement and it landed on a small jagged pebble on the 5% that wasn't covered. FML.
Anyway, I ditched that for a full body case. Better coverage for a bigger phone, im okay with it.
i put the whole cover on, screen piece is excellent..feels good, doesn't scratch, can't even tell its there. the other parts are ok, the corners do collect a lot of gunk, and it is a fingerprint magnet, but easily cleaned up. kinda tricky to install yourself though. if you just set it down all over, or put it in your pocket, its great, if you're the kind of person who drops things a lot, go with something else for the body and just get the screen piece.
I personally cannot stand invisible shield. I have never had any luck with them. They always end up feeling like orange peel to me. I know that its not me, because when I install a bodyguardz it never orange peels. Its always perfect. Plus you get 2 for the price of one!
I recommend Bodyguardz hands down.

I like mine, a lot
I have on on my ipod that I guess I gave to my four-year-old. It's tough stuff.
I think it sounds wacko, but I am convinced the skin absorbs a little of the impact of a drop. It really is scratch proof, and if you put them on right, it should cover all of the unit except of the corners of the battery cover &($11 on ebay). It's 3D curved, so there really isn't a way to engineer it perfectly. I took my glasses off (hard core near sighted) and dabbed a bit of fingernail top coat in the cracks to match the sheen and protect a little. It hasn't chipped or peeled in the tiny cracks that were left.
Yes, eventually they do peel up, particularly if you're sliding it in & out of another really tight case, but even so, they stay put pretty well despite a corner or two coming up. If it's intsalled correctly and there are no regular spots where it's worn really hard, I can't imagine anything peeling up unless you pick at it.
I put mine on myself, entirely sober and well-slept. I was really concerned about the job I did at first, but the skin settles into place after a day or two. Now it looks pretty good (i.e. I'm happy with it, so it's notably invisible to other people).
I like the "StickyPad" effect it has, particularly on the back, but it's handy on the front for when I have it face down (I like Face of Ring in market). It's very rubbery, so it doesn't slide around on a desk, nightstand or dashboard, and with foam on car mounts, etc. it really stays put.
If anything, I would get a screen protector from another manufacturer that isn't so glossy. It has a bit of a wavy texture if you look closely, so on the screen it looks a little odd if you're thinking about it, and looking at it. A slippery screen for finger gestures makes more sense, but I'm leaving mine in place becuase I know it's rock solid screen protection (and it's cut to fit the rest of the skin).
I'm looking forward to putting on my next one because I know it'll turn out better. I'll put the screen protector on first, then line up the surrounding screen-edge side peices to match it at the top and the bottom of the screen, so that then I can line up the top-edge and bottom edge pieces with a straight line from the screen side & corners, rather than the bottom edge of the screen assembly. The rest was really straightforward, tedious, and not for people who don't have a knack for fine motor movement and estimating sall measurements fairly acurately. But I can't even pay someone to replace my brake pads, much less put on a phone protector.
And what that other guy said: REALLY, REALLY WET. I think I'll be more liberal with the spray next time. You can slide it around for about a second without stretching it. If you have a lint free towel, it handy for keeping the spray out of the unit but still have enough to slide around until it's right.
I had trouble with the corner opposite the camera button. The phone curves in the back, and the dart (the v-shaped cut to make the corner) wasn't quite deep enough, so I used Swiss Army knife scissors and trimmed the extra that just wouldn't stick down because it was just too much. I'm glad I did.
I know there's lint under my screen protector, but I can't see it. The bubbles, if they're tiny, just seem to disappear. It's really a cool material, and worth a try just to see the stuff.
Besides, it fits inside another case.
(I do sew, but I refuse to knit.)

Gumdrop Drop Tech - Military Case (Green) Got one!

So after looking and looking, I finally decided to drop the $59 (shipping from their site is free) and get the Gumdrop skin case. I found that I was leaving my tablet at home all the time because I was worried about dropping it, and by the time someone makes one to satisfy my needs to work with the dock too, I'd be looking for another tablet.
So I picked up the military one, in the green from their website. I figured if I didn't like it, I can easily return it.
Item showed up today, they ship Fedex Ground if anyone is wondering, and I ordered it last Thursday. The packaging it comes in is pretty damned sturdy. I'm usually anal about protecting anything I buy, and the packaging it came in was probably a bit overboard.
Getting it pulled apart to get the printed insert out of the actual case was impressive in its own. NOTHING is going to hurt your tablet in this case, other than if you stepped in the middle of it.
Anyways, I wanted to get this thread started, so I can answer any questions folks have about this case. I just got it a few hours ago, and will do a short review this weekend, and a longer term review after a month or so. I'll get you some pictures too of all the parts and how it goes together.
A few initial notes.
1. This thing is THICK.
2. When I opened it, my first thought was, "Get rid of the integrated screen protector". I decided to pull it out, then put it on top of my tablet to see if you can use the touch screen with it on there (it is a "hard" screen protector). The screen picks up your movements PERFECT with the screen protector in place.
3. All cutouts are perfect.
4. The entire device is covered
5. The thick silicone rubber exterior has a hard plastic skeleton that you snap on over your tablet. Then you stretch the exterior over that.
6. The screen cover has a hard plastic frame that snaps into the skeleton, from the INSIDE.
There is no slack, no wiggling, and once you get it in place and push all of the locking tabs from the exterior through the skeleton, it looks like your tablet was BUILT this way. Amazing.
My only cons so far...
1. I wish the screen cover snapped in from the outside. Not that I'll ever probably take it off, but it would be nice to have the option.
2. No kickstand. With the plastic skeleton, I see no reason they couldn't have integrated a kickstand like the Incipio cases.
I am still holding out hopes for someone to make something like this that leaves a option to connect your dock. A detachable cover at the bottom and a matching case for the dock would fix it all.
Also, I'm kind of surprised no one has a dock to tablet extension cable yet. That would actually make this really nice. With a kickstand.
LOL
Okay, I'll get more info soon, get me your questions if you have any folks.

Amazon has them - http://www.amzn.com/dp/B005FVDVIW
And the manu page - http://www.gumdropcases.com/tablet-cases.html
I can't really tell the difference between the military and regular ones - I'm eyeing up that red/black model. Thanks for the review.
If they made this case that fit both the TF and dock, i would buy it
Is there any kind of buffer between the hard plasktic screen protector and the screen? My experience with hard plastic screen protectors is that sometimes small objects or dirt gets caught between the screen protector and screen. With use this trapped dirt starts to scratch the screen. You might also consider getting a stick-on screen protector as well.
I saw a review where there was a question about how this case might make the device retain heat. Do you notice any overheating?
i have the same case and think it is build like a tank and everything the OP says it is. i have not noticed any overheating at all. a lot of people were saying how ugly it is, i think it is really cool looking in person, i have the same OD green military version

My priorities for selection was protection, functionality & "looks". I doubt I'll invest in the keyboard/dock; I'm essentially wanting a larger smart phone, LOL
My only nit with it...is the images make the green look more pastelly versus a darker tone...which IMO, is more in line with a "military" green. But I guess the tone makes it a bit more fashionable. I can live with it.
Great lil review. Thank you for reaffirming my choice.

[Review] Zenus Masstige Color Edge Diary Series Royal Navy

Alright, The case the box came is in is kind of girly, anyways the quality of the case is amazing! It doesn't feel like it was cheaply made at all. It doesn't add too much bulk and I can still fit it in my skinnys(Levi's 511 Skinny 29 x 30) front pocket. The buttons are easily accessible even the the volume button being covered by the front flap it is still easy to press / locate since the case has a steep cut out for the volume buttons. Aswell as the S-Pen being so easily accessible. An added perk i liked about this case is that the speaker hole is actually covered by its own mesh. It also has an accessory hole so you could attach an accessory / lanyard to it. The Magnetized kick stand does not interfere with signal(atleast none i can tell).
Album
Zenus cases are the best I've seen so far for the Galaxy Note. I was thinking of getting this one as well but the color combinations just don't do it for me. Also, there's not cutout for the front speaker so it would be a little awkward to have to hold the front leather part back every time. I like that the case clips onto the metal part on the side and doesn't rest on the top of the phone so that a screen guard will thankfully be left untouched. I also love that it has a stand (The only reason I'm not getting the Zenus Masstige Stripe Case). I was wondering though, when the stand is set up, does the little latch (idk what it's called lol, the little thing used to clip on to the front cover to close the case) hide a little part of the screen since presumably, it'll be hanging down a little bit?
EDIT: Ordered it lol. It may have its flaws but it's the best I could find at its price range.
I have one of these (different colors, but this color looks great).
They are extremely high quality. As good or better than Vaja, for instance.
I've posted this before, that make sure you pay more and get the leather ones, as they have a few lines and some of the lines aren't as good quality.
This particular case is just great. The flap is a tad annoying but well worth it overall.
Note: one thing worth mentioning is that they are very light also.
would it be okay to use this case with a FULL skin applied? Ie. sides and back??
i'm sure the front would be okay, but just wanted to see if the sides of the phone with skin be okay.....
i've been looking at cases that have the flip cover, but they all look like it would peel off the side skins..... this one looks like it like it might be okay.

Hmmm...that's a tricky one. Obviously, it clips in tightly and securely so it might damage the skin during insertion and removal but once it's sitting in there, as long as you don't constantly remove it, it should be fine. I would recommend going to a store and testing out either this case or similar leather cases, but then again, if you harm the skin in the process, then this whole discussion is useless lol. On another note, why use a skin? The note is such a beautiful sleek beast. I wouldn't want to hide away any of the sides or take away from the beautiful protruding glass. That's why I hate my current Capdase Jacket XPose and am going for this case. Just increases the beauty XD. Anyways, yes, back on topic, I wouldn't recommend using a skin with this cover but hopefully someone who's actually tried it will reply.
Side-note: I ordered the Wine-Red / Dark Brown version

These Zenus cases look great and seem very usable. But the downside is that they have a magnet at the back that interferes with S-pen functions (not with the signal). Check in the screen area in front of the magnet by trying to draw several long thin lines with the SPen that cross this area. That case was a money waste for me...

I got these symptoms after a couple of days usage. I contacted the dealer and got a substitute with Capsule Stand Slide Series - White / Lime
When I got my Note off CL came with the Eel leather case. It's slick but I wish it was the capsule.

Toast rust leather skin w/Moto dimple cutout

I'd posted in the Slickwraps thread, but didn't want to hijack that and derail Wesley's efforts, so here's a separate thread.
I always felt the N6 was frighteningly slippery in hand, and after a few shorter drops began looking for a solution that didn't add a ton of bulk to an already large device. I somehow stumbled upon Slickwrap's Natural series, likely from surfing XDA. I excitedly ordered the lighter brown back, with no dimple cutout, and started applying it as soon as I got home. (while I'm an adult TECHNICALLY I still act like a 12yr old about my tech devices and their accessories) Unfortunately, my enthusiasm meant I didn't align it perfectly, and it ended up having to peel it back off and reapply. It still looked great and was a vast improvement in feel and grip, although after a few days I noticed the edges were starting to lift a tiny bit and dust was adhering to the tiny gap that had developed. I thought that was due to my poor application, and ordered another, this time determined to place it perfectly first try.
2nd skin arrived, this time with the dimple cutout, and the application went perfectly. It never lifted anywhere, and after several months was darkening beautifully. I realized I preferred the solid back (looks cleaner to me, I guess?) and ordered my 3rd SW skin, this time getting a cork back for the gf's M8, as she was dropping it entirely too often, and I thought that would be an attractive solution.
3rd order came, gf's cork was applied (she LOVES it, 4mos later still going strong, hasn't dropped it since) I went to apply my new leather, and was surprised to find it was approximately twice the thickness of what I'd received previously. Due to that, and the cutout on the bottom of the phone leaving so little room for error, I never got that back applied. I must have applied, realized the hole at the bottom wasn't aligned well, lifted it, and restuck it 4 or 5 times before I realized this one would never stay down and gave up.
I went skinless for the first time since SW released the Natural series, and HATED it. The phone felt like it was trying to leap from my hand and I was certain it was only a matter of time till it hit the deck and exploded. I emailed SW, asking if the leather backs were back to "normal" thickness, and didn't get too helpful a response (I think it was along the lines of "the thickness varies with the stock") so figured I'd try to source an alternative elsewhere.
Along the way I'd gotten a walnut skin for my Surface Pro 3 from Toast, and was sort of amazed at the quality and inquired about leather for my Nexus. Laurent in CS mentioned they were working on it, and when she told me they were available I placed an order for a rust back. It was $44, but I was hopeful it would be the last back I'd need.
It was in my mailbox 4 days later and I was psyched when I opened it. The leather was drastically softer right out of the box, the color was more to my liking, and while noticeably thicker than SW's (the first two I'd rec'd, anyway) Toast had finished the edges black, so I figured it would sort of match the black edges of the screen from the side. (I don't know if I'm describing this adequately/well, but basically when you view the phone from the side, the thickness of the Toast edge is pretty much exactly the same as the thickness of the black screen edge, so it's mirrored from front to back. Hopefully the pics will better show this as I still feel I'm not describing it well.)
I've had it on for a little over a week now, and while I did need to peel it back up once during application, it's showing no signs of lifting anywhere, and I don't believe it will, either. I still LOVE the feel and color, and even though I prefer the solid/no dimple back, this one is staying put. It feels so soft I like it far better than any of the Horween backs I'd applied, and for me, it definitely warrants the price difference.
I hope this helps, and apologize for the long post, but wanted to be comprehensive in giving my experiences with both companies and their products. If you folks want any other pics or have any additional questions just let me know!
All I can find is wood. Where is the leather

Order the iPhone leather ($44) and then put “this is for a Nexus 6" in the comments. They're still in the process of adding the leather to the website.
It looks like a piece of toast sitting on top of the phone, terrible IMHO.
yea it looks extremely thick.
I had a Toastmade wooden skin on my LG G3 and it was a fantastic piece of workmanship.
I can't tell what's going on with your picture but is this a photo of the Toastmade cover having been placed on top of the phone? Surely it's not that proud when applied?
Here's a photo of my Slickwraps Horween leather back panel which I attached a couple of hours ago for comparison:
I think it looks pretty good myself.

i finally got my rust leather one and man does that thing have some grip. I love it. the one thing this phone was missing was a way to hold on to it. lol
Got my Rust leather for my Nexus 6 two days ago. According to their customer service Laurent, the leather is sourced from Oregon Leather, quality is better than Slickwraps Horween (I have both). It didn't sit flush because the oem back cover wasn't removed. The leather is a little bit thicker than Slickwraps but the feeling is much better when you touch it.
In the beginning I thought it was too thick, but now the edges become "smoother" after rubbing them for few hours. Toast has put the Nexus 6 Leather on their website, slightly cheaper than iPhone version.

Oh god, that looks terrible.
Not at all. I love it even more than Slickwraps, which sit flush as I used their replacement back. I ended up peeling Slickwraps off because of the poor leather quality. Toast version is thicker but at the same time gives you more grip on sides thus feel "safer" when you hold it.

1) How did you get the 'nexus' branding?
2) Could you replace the stock back w/ the Toast back?
1) There is an etching option, just put "NEXUS" in order comments.
2) No I didn't try it. I didn't have a thinner replacement back or a used wrap as the base, I also don't know how to diy a back cover like other people do...
I actually asked Toast about it but it wasn't recommended and they weren't sure if the leather wrap can fit the phone precisely if you take off the oem back...

Got a replacement back from Slickwraps to see whether my Toast leather sits flush. You can see photos, it fits but isn't flush. Looks nicer than on the OEM back cover. Please ignore the imperfection of the leather, I put too much conditioner and also peeled it off at least 5 times for the test. Seems no way to make it smooth again For leather quality, see my previous post.
Taking off the OEM back cover to install the skin is not recommended by Toast, so take your own risk. For Slickwraps replacement back, they do not list on their website but you can call them.

I just ordered this over the Slickwraps leather because this looks much nicer / higher quality. When it comes to leather, thicker is better. Thin leather is usually cheap leather.

Did you pay anything extra for the "Nexus" branding? It isn't the same as a custom text, right? You'd just put something like "I want my leather back Nexus-branded" or something in the order comments?
I wonder how the feel of the black leather differs from the rust brown. It says it's softer; question is if it's about the same as the brown and the black LG G4 back covers - 'cause there's a pretty big difference there in terms of softness.

I've seen some without the dimple cutout. I does pocket gunk collect in the cutout? Im leaning towards no cutout right now. I love the way it looks though! This phone is too slippery!

Yes, I paid $5 extra for the NEXUS etching, the same cost as custom text. When placing the order, I put "NEXUS" in custom text, and also "For Nexus 6 with NEXUS etching" in order comments. You can also email their custom service to confirm it.
I think Rust is slightly softer than others (I also have Syrah but not Black) as described on their website. Comparing to LG G4, my guess is Toast leather is softer because it's thicker, LG G4 leather cover looks like a thin leather wrap a plastic back.
(Not sure what happened to my reply this morning, it's just disappeared...)
Wow, this doesn't look like something toast would do. Being so thick, it doesn't look nearly as well made as their other products.

Collection: Tempered glass screen protectors reviews

Hope to make this thread as a collection of reviews and Q&A for various screen protectors. Noticed several reviews for some before the device was even released. Hopefully this thread helps others and a way for you to share your experiences.
OMOTON 4-pack
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NXZP7PG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Pros:
Covers the whole display (left to right)
No halo or rainbow effect
Leaves enough gap for a case
CHEAP (includes 4)
Cons:
Peeling the dust remove sticker was a pain.
Doesn't cover class between camera and earpiece
Other thoughts:
the glass is quite thin. Less than .33mm which is the norm. Probably will make it not so durable when drops and possibly easier to crack. But nice as it doesnt feel sharp or large on the display
This glass is a precise fit, so be careful on installation. Good thing if you mess up, there are additional ones. .5mm left/right or up/down probably will cause a halo affect for that edge

Thanks for getting this started, tlxxxsracer! I'm going to mimic your format to the best of my ability. I'm going to include a Comments line as I don't have images or videos to link to.
Yocktec Screen Protector
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QTZ9XPP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Comments: I gave this a 3 star rating. It's acceptable as a "until I get a better one" protector but not one I'd consider for long term.
Pro's:
Feels like decent quality glass for the price (strength, clarity, etc.)
Simple installation
Well gapped for a case
Con's:
Bad edge lifting/poor contact
Not particularly cheap given it's just one in the box
Somewhat difficult to line up given how the glass it cut for the front camera/speaker.
UniqueMe Screen Protector (3 Pack)
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QKCFS9N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Comments: I opened this and immediately filed for a return. I laid one of the 3 pack onto my screen and it was too large to work with most cases, and part of the edge was going to go over the slight curve on the edge of the glass. Not worth even trying.
Pro's:
N/A, didn't even try
Con's:
Too large, will almost certainly lift off at the edges
L K Screen Protector (3 Pack)
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NM4MRFQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Comments: What's currently on my phone. First to install had two large air bubbles because I just kind of threw it on there as I'm used to doing with most tempered glass protectors, second I went slower and it's good. There is some slight lifting on the edge in a couple of spots, and small air bubbles in the regions that the protector covers but aren't part of the actual visible screen. I'm going to stick with this until some of the bigger name brands start releasing stuff, namely second versions as the first go is rarely great, and keep the third of the pack as a backup.
Pro's:
Cheap
Quality is good. Feels strong, clarity is nice, etc.
Good coverage of screen while still allowing enough of a gap for cases to fit.
Con's:
Installation isn't as easy as I'm used to. I don't think it's a "designed to be installed how we show" you kind of thing, just a bit finicky. (Note: Not actually difficult, just go slow and follow the video they link you to in the box)
Related to above, I feel like their instructions will inevitably waste at least one protector for most users as there will be dust and/or air bubbles collected this way. You're not likely going to get it perfect on your first go. (Note: Which is why a lot of people will read this and think, "well that's why they include 3, dummy" which is a fair point, but I wanted to bring it up)
Very slight edge lift
Glass it cut so between camera and speaker there is a large exposed area (Note: doesn't bother me personally, but I know some people don't like that)
Supershieldz 3 Pack
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Q1KCT3M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Comments: Didn't install. Looks very similar to the L K tempered glass in size, but based on Caebron's comments below I figure it's not removing the L K I have on to try.
Space held for Supershieldz commentary
I've got a 3 Pack of these coming in the mail tomorrow. I know a lot of people like Supershieldz but I haven't liked a single one I've gotten. I got them mostly to see if I just got bad ones in the past or if everyone's just crazy. Unlikely to install it given that the L K's nice, but I'll comment on them.

I also recommend the Omoton 4 pack here:

Never bought this brand before but it worked perfectly on the first one. The 3a XL's display seems to be much flatter than the 2xl and 3xl which were a nightmare with putting on glass screen protectors. So happy to not have one with a black border around it again!! :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::good::good:

I just installed these and will be returning them to Amazon for a refund. The pack includes two shield, and while I was able to work out any trapped airbubbles by pushing them towards the edge of the screen, and any remaining small bubbles disappeared over night, they always leave an airbubble at one or more of the edges. It looks as if you could slide a fingernail underneath - which you can't so it's just this long elongated airbubble that makes it look as if it isn't sticking at the edge of the screen.
Ordered myself a Zagg this time - I will report back on how it works.
I also used the Omotion 4 pack,,,it covers about the same as most and fingerprints are not as noticeable as they are on some others.
3 pack I picked up. super smooth bonded pretty well. Thick so should be decent protection. though it barely covers left and right of actual screen area. not sure how much wider it could go because of the curved edges of display.
amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07PVQ2LYB
I got the LK as an interim. They are certainly not bad, but I'd like something with a more complete coverage and also less sharp and thick edges. For my OnePlus 6 I had protectors from ******* that were decent...but not perfect either. I hope we'll get good one for the Pixel soon...
Also bought a Zagg. The guy at Best buy installed incorrectly. I ordered a replacement since it has a lifetime warranty. Will report back once I get the replacement installed properly.
Super surprised how well they installed, yes they have the black lining all around, full adhesive. No issues installing. Perfect alignment without a tray ( no screen leak on either sides). Good price and no loss of screen sensitivity.
Definitely recommended
Case friendly too
TekRoot 4 pack from ebay
Pros: perfect cut, resist smudges well, easy to apply, full glue, work well with a case, dirt cheap.
Cons; Halo around the border due to glue, maybe not enough of it, or bad quality.. other than that, for $2.25 a piece in package of 4 with shipping included, I can live with the borders not completely adhering to the screen.
I was happy with the CASEVASN screen protectors. Not sure why it's reviewed so poorly.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R4HC87D/
I don't like the notch on the OMOTON and prefer the cutouts. It has basically zero room for error, but I eventually got it lined up perfectly with the sticky tab hinges, and it has plenty of space on the sides for a case. No bubbles or distortion.
Got my replacement Zagg, the screen feels really nice and there are NO fingerprints at all. But there's no room for error on the install and the thing that's meant to help line it up sucks, way too easy for the protector to get underneath it. Because of the huge gaps on the sides, it's almost impossible to install properly. I'd stick with a full adhesive black boarder protector, definitely not worth $40.
Edit: after just a few minutes of use, the phone is covered with fingerprints. Again, would not recommend.

Looks like a ton of fake reviews on Amazon, doesn't give me the warm fuzzies. Have any pictures of it installed? I don't understand how it could have black boarder and be case friendly. I'm looking for something not case friendly, doesn't seem to be many options

Am with you on that, I just purchase and test, I don't trust most Amazon reviews cause like you mentioned plenty of fakeness, but yes it has the black borders and case friendly, once am home I will upload pics. My biggest surprise is the no screen leak on the sides, **** they did a good job with the size..
Just received my omoton 4 pack. It doesn't cover the whole screen as the OP reviewed. Must be a new batch as it was backordered for a few days.
Here are the pictures of the screen protector installed
Black border
Full adhesive
Perfect alignment
No screen leak on the sides

Just ordered, looks great. Thanks for sharing!
Update: just received. Much easier to install than the Zagg due to the edges getting much closer to the edges of the phone. The cutouts are so precise you can line the whole thing up based on them. It might cut off a few pixels on the sides, but overall I'm very impressed. Fingerprint resistance seems to be MUCH better than the Zagg. Don't waste $40, buy this!
Update 2: have noticed this screen protector actually hurts screen quality pretty noticeably. Not sure why, but in some apps (especially apps with lots of white), it's VERY annoying
I also recommend the pulen. fit is perfect and I don't notice any issues with transparency or responsiveness.
I picked a 3-pack of LK, non-bordered, up. Took a little more time than I usually do lining everything up with the included guide stickers. Most other phones the cutouts are precise enough for me to eyeball, but since this one just has a huge cutout at the top for the camera all the way to the speaker, not so easy to do. Went on perfectly and so far haven't had any issues with the edges of the glass, and I don't have any blue discoloring at the edge. Protector is *just* the right size for the screen, so thinking the extra time taken to line things up served me well.
Can't take pictures because the only other device I have at the moment is a Huawei Mediapad M5 running PHH-treble and the camera doesn't work on it for whatever reason.
