Excellent Clipboard Manager app for HC - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Themes and Apps

This app helps tons for me and it's compatible with my Honeycomb tablet as well as my Nexus S running ICS.
I've tried several of them in the market and I like this one the best.

[Q] BEST of the BEST!!!

Hello,
i rooted my phone not too long ago and i love it!!!! i tried BAMF 3.0 and i didnt like it much at all, it was choppy but i got it to be smooth with changing the cpu, well as of now i am just rooted and my question is: what apps do u recommend(rooted) ? i got rom manager already ^^ and also, what is some roms outs their that u like? and why? im looking for a new ROM but dont know where to continue xD
and also, is there an app that hides all my apps on my screens? ive searched but no luck, kind of like in which on a computer we can view, or not view desktop icons
As far as apps; Titanium Backup will let you back up apps and data, RootExporer will let you access files you couldn't otherwise (be careful with both, you can delete or uninstall things you shouldn't), wifi tether will let you tether over wifi I recommend version 2.0.7 (google it), those are the biggies anyways. Check my sig for my ROM recommendation, links included. This setup has offered bulletproof stability for me and the best battery life I've seen. Of course phones and opinion vary so try a few and see what you like. As far as that last part, I have no idea.
Are you talking about temporarily hiding the widgets and icons, per permanently?
If temporarily, why not just set up a blank screen? Stock sense came with several desktops with a widget, or two. All you'd have to is remove some not by long pressing on them.

Ty both of u, definitely will check ur info!
And I don't want to delete them permanently, just not visible, I've searched and I can't find any at all, and yea deleting is always good, I've just always like hiding icons on my computer, and i'd like to also on my tb xD

if you mean hiding apps in the app drawer, I think you'll need a different launcher like LauncherPro or ADW. I don't know that there's any way to hide apps in the drawer of the sense launcher
OP, Das Bamf 3.0 is a great rom, but I don't like it either!
I have tried 6 roms on the TB and finally found the right one for me, which given your description sounds like it might be perfect for you as well.
Liquid Thunderbread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1160637)
This is a VERY stripped down and fast rom. Also it is AOSP instead of Sense based and is only 66 mb!
It is awesomely fast and smooth without any of the BS, I seriously cannot recommend it enough. I like it so much that I made my first rom based donation to the developer and plan on doing so again if they continue updating.
Let me know what you think if you decide to give it a shot.
Im on synergy and i love it. its speedy quick but still lets you keep a lot of the fancy stuff. also the battery is great on 4g or 3g, wifi is a little lacking. and an app you should definitively download is setcpu ( i think its free if youve signed up for xda here) itll let you overclock or set up underlcoking for when your screen is off etc.
on my older incredible, i had an ad-block app (got it from the app market). it blocked the banner ads that are in a lot of the apps.

[Q] A lot of issues with the Galaxy Tab, need some help please

Hi,
So I just recently got the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. I am familiar with Android and I know what I'm doing (or so I think lol) but some things just aren't working and I don't know if it's me or software limitation. Regardless I'm hoping someone can shedd some light on these...
1. The market is lacking a LOT of applications that are available on phones. Is that right? I thought it would just scale for the most part....I can't even find the official Facebook app on the market. Am I looking in the wrong place or something? Hulu? Netflix??
1a. Some applications that I sideload (mainly widgets) like typoclock or something of that sort....install, but when I go to add the widget it is not there, as if never installed. Even when I try to reinstall it, it says that it will replace the old one so i know for a fact that it installs, but the widgets aren't available, and they arent listed in the installed apps drawer either.
2. It seems kind of sluggish...and I really haven't installed much, even from a cold boot...it's kinda laggy, not as quick as I have seen on some review videos. Quadrant scores around 1400-1500. I Rooted it, installed the latest SunBurst ROM and overclocked to 1.4Ghz and it's still laggy often despite nearing 3000 on quadrant now.
3. So I couldn't get any Netflix apk to work on it stock, so once I rooted, installed Sunburst ROM it came installed with a Netflix app, but I don't think it's official since the icon is orange and has a little android on it. Needless to say THAT app doesn't work and CAN'T be installed (I figure it's cooked onto the ROM) regardless I found a Netflix apk that install and replaces it, and works...but after one day it reverts back to the old netflix and doesn't work. So pretty much everytime I want to use Netflix I have to reinstall and overwrite with the new Netflix apk I found...it's annoying. (and the search function doesn't work on that Netflix either)
I know it's a lot to rant about and a lot of issues, and I love the tab and honeycomb, but I can't believe these issues still persist. I hope someone can help me with one/all of these and I will be forever grateful.
Thanks, hope someone can help...
1a. Try a restart after you install a widget. It seems that if the widget is not made for HC, it doesn't appear before you restart.
i tried rebooting but that didn't help any unfortunately...
There's a netflix 1.3 APK somewhere that sideloads perfectly. I haven't tried it with Touchwiz yet - I haven't even touched Touchwiz.
Try stock ROM first. Your ROM might have broken something. I know Bonsai completely broke USB storage support as an example, and Starburst claims to be the "most complete and fastest Touchwiz experience" which means it's going to have missing and broken things. Any ROM dev making claims like that is compensating for something. The "hacked-icon" Netflix app is an obvious sign they went a LITTLE too far.
Netflix sideload works perfectly on my Tab. Unrooted. TouchWiz. Stock.
i tried netflix fix on starburst rom, it did work but reverted back to fcs after a reboot. i switched to bonsai 3, netflix seems to be working fine even after a reboot.
2. It seems kind of sluggish...
The default launcher is a bit sluggish, it is a honeycomb issue. For me I have seen after a "reboot", the tab does take a couple of minutes to "settle", then it is smooth for me, but if you have lot of widgets on your homescreens it will be sluggish, my experience in any case.
thanks to all you guys for all the replies.
As far as the Netflix, I know I do have the correct apk I think the issue is that it isn't playing nice with the one that is baked into the rom. I guess I will have to install another rom.
However I haven't heard anything on the apps, is that right? There's no Facebook? Anyoneelse having issues with Widgets not appearing?
For Facebook search for an app in the market called 'Friend Me'
Looks great and works great =)
for getting rid of sluggishness try this launcher: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1188701

Thanks! Good call, app looks great!
@js931,I'll give that launcher a try and see how it goes.
I understand and feel for you on your problems. My 3rd (and final) Galaxy Tab is on the way to me from Amazon.com. I also have an Asus Transformer on the way as well and the device that gives me the least amount of problems is the device I plan to keep. I want to like the Tab but I don't have high hopes since I'm about to be on my 3rd device. The 2nd one worked perfectly after Touchwiz for a while - even fixed issues I was having such as the typing lag - but the issues I had with the first one (screen and/or Wifi doesn't respond after bringing the device out of sleep) resurfaced a few days ago. The 2nd Tab also had something loose on the inside as it produces a loud rattling noise whenever it vibrates. While that is easily cured by turning off the vibration, I paid $600 for this device and I expect it to be near-perfect. So any little issue I have with this 3rd Tab means it's going back for a refund and I'll keep the Transformer... assuming it behaves like it should, lol.
At any rate, good luck with your issues. The Tab is a beautiful device but seems to be problematic... at least that's my experience with it.

[Q] new samsung 10.1 tab now what?

ok guys just got hold of samsung tab 10.1 for around £286 mint so now im wondering what are the first things to do to it to improve it so to speak and dont say sell it for an ipad 2
Root, Overclock and flash a custom ROM. Enjoy.
Buy HD widgets from the android market cause they got some really sweet widgets... Go to the samsung galaxy tab 10.1 section and go under Themes and apps to find the screenshot thread to give you an idea on cool layouts for your tab.... Well that's what I did, lol

If your into games check out the post on some of the many games that have been tested on the 10.1. I would also check out the custom roms after yiu root, just be aware of your battery, especially if you overclock. There are some instructions on how to get your battey back if it happens just search the forum.
There are a number of themes out there, I would stay away from the live wallpaper if you expect everything to just snap at the homescreen. Also check out the Amazon app market, free paid app per day and every once in a while they release a good one like folder organizer.
I would say other then that enjoy, and find out how the tab helps you when your away from the computer.

What do you mean by being aware of the battery? In what sense? The battery life? I thought overclocking didn't cut the battery life if the voltage is kept the same?
For the OP, other than that was mentioned, before even settling on a ROM, I would just search and get a ton of apps and try it out. Then I reformat and install the ones I really like. Idk, for me installing all those apps makes a huge mess and slows things down so I like to just download everything i want to try and then install from a clean start. Try various browsers, etc.
ADW Launcher is good. Various remote desktop stuff. Also enable Hulu (I dont know if you need root but there's a thread here somewhere) if you want and also get Netflix.

[Q] First ROM?

So I'm itching to load the first ROM to my Rezound, I was kind of waiting on Cyanogen but it seems like it's still pretty far away from everyday use. I've used CM in the past and loved it. I'm not a huge fan of Sense ROMs but I'm getting use to it. I DON'T like how on Sense the background stays still when you scroll left and right to different apps & how it does that spinny thing if you flick it to fast. (I get dizzy and fall down a lot..LOL) Are there any ROMs out there that have the scrolling background and NO spinny thing? I really hate re-doing my phone every time you load a ROM. Any advice on a good way to make the transition easier would be appreciated. What is your app reload stratagem like? I usually just re-download all my apps. Thanks!
I'm pretty sure you can turn off the fast flicky thingy...Not sure off the top of my head where that setting is, but I think I've seen it somewhere.
That being said, I'm using Xtreme Outcast's http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1507670
It has sense removed and the UI is very sharp and nice on the eyes.
Seems like a new rom comes out every day, so you need to just pick one and try it out. Once you get the hang of it, it takes only minutes to flash a new one, so just try out a few of them and see what you like (always backup before trying a new one).
As far as your apps are concerned, you can either manually re-download them from the market (not bad if you don't have a ton of apps) or use a backup app (like titanium, or one of the 100 others out there).

Thanks trud9340, I didn't see Xtreme Outcast in the ReZound ROM list. Cool so it's De-Sensed! I'm gonna try it, I'm getting things backed up with Titanium now. I've been using Titanium for a while now but have never used it to restore apps after a ROM install, just mainly used it for backing up apps and restoring app if an app update was flaky! Here goes!
It sounds like your issue is with the launcher. Have you tried out any others, like ADW, LauncherPro, or GO? They give you the options to do what you are wanting without having to change your current ROM.

Don't restore data from one ROM to another though, from what I've read that can introduce problems.
I use AppMonster Pro for my app back ups. It's really great and it's so easy on the eyes when you want to restore. Then it gives you the option of installing from sd or from Market. Also, as soon as you download a new app it backs it up. I love that.
+1 for xtreme outkast ICS ROM. Been using it since it came out and it's definitely the closest I've gotten to ICS on the Nexus. Looks sexy and runs really smooth. If you're looking into one without sense I'd definitely go with it.

Just downgraded to GB from ICS and I don't regret it.

I had used ICS for sometime since the update was available for my phone (Live with Walkman) and I was very happy with the new UI of the new Android 4.0. I really liked the Holo interface and everything but there was a "little" problem: I use to play games a lot, and since I updated my phone, there were a lots of games that aren't compatible with ICS. The task manager from ICS will be the things that I will miss the most, but however I do not regret to had taken this decition. Now that I downgraded to GB everything seems to be better (specially the games part) and the first thing I do is search for a new launcher, since Apex Launcher isn't compatible with GB. I used to have Go Launcher installed on my phone before the ICS update, but I really hate the new interace that this launcher has right now. But I found a really good alternative: Holo Launcher. It is pretty much the same as Apex, I really recommend it. :good: and i installed advanced task manager too, since GB doesn't have one.
There are a lot of possibilities to have Holo skin interface on GB (Xperia S + ICS theme for example) found on this forum.
So I just want to say Gingerbread rocks!
and I will never upgrade my phone again.

Yes, i absolutely agree with you. I like the battery and packet data management from ICS. But many my apps doesnt compatible on it. For example apps that need J2ME runner, all fail. And the UI, i like GB much. If i want such a thing that comes with ICS i'll search it on internet. And .... yuhuuuuuuu .... found everything i need :highfive::good:
Mine: SK17i
Well actually i upgraded to ICS then downgraded to GB (To play games of course ). But i missed ICS (especially google chrome) so much that i reverted back to iCS in a week Waiting for Jelly Bean now
i agree that GB still the best for gaming performance and compatibility with the most app

Actually the updated firefox is the best, in my opinion. No problems with the new version, the only bad thing is its a big install.
If you remove bloatwares, lww gives good battery backup on ics. Also games such as riptide gp, cut the rope run very smoothly.

agree... Chrome used to take 50mb of my internal memory, and didn't run that smooth at all, also if you sync your bookmarks with Chrome for Desktop you need to keep Sync activated on your Cellphone or it would lose all saved bookmarks :\
i also reverted to hybrom 17 and i am very happy with it.

I don't know but I don't think a Jelly Bean Update is coming for the 2011 Xperia phones, maybe it would be exclusively for NXT series (Xperia S, etc....) But I'm not sure, I mean if we have a Jelly Bean Update it would be great!
