Installing or uninstalling apps - HTC EVO 3D

Can somebody please help. Everytime I install and app or uninstall and app my phone gets very slow for a few minutes. Can anyone tell me why and if there is a solution to fix it thank you
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App

cosidering your phone is reconfiguring memory when you are doing either or, thats most likely why. when doing either of those your phone is thinking a little bit harder than normal. when installoing an app, you are also using a decent amount of straight data which could why. but it shouldnt be more than a few seconds. you might be over thinking it, lol

Umm that's pretty normal when it is in the process of installing and uninstalling. Try rebooting if it does happen for a few mins mine just does it during but not for a few minutes.

Try Installing a Task manager, I'd Suggest you try Advanced Taskiller Froyo!

Task killers are one of the main reasons people's phones slow down. They kill system processes and services which cause the phone to lag. There are some where you can set the tasks to be killed and ones to allow, but there are some that you won't see that will get killed anyway.

You couldn't pay me to use that. Try system tuner, much better utility and replaced 5 or 6 apps with one.

Some Apps not Full Screen

For some reason quite a few apps seem to be only taking up half the screen. Sprint Locator for example only on half top of screen. Antone else getting this problem?
Yep, I think the resolution isn't supported
Download spareparts from the market and open then uncheck compatibility mode and restart. Then try your apps again.
Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk
Its merely a resolution issue....no worries

I can name two more apps with this problem, ibird pro and newsroom. There are more and more phones with the higher resolution so I figure it will get fixed eventually.

[Q] What's up with the RAM?

For some reason, the RAM on my galaxy ace is always running at about 80 something even when I have auto memory manager set to aggressive, clean up ram after every minute and set the presets really high. After it clears up, some apps get automatically preloaded again.
Is there a way to control how much ram can stay consistent on the phone? It lags when the ram is running pretty low so I was wondering if there's a way to keep up a whole bunch of free ram.
I'm running my Ace on 2.3.5 stock rom rooted.
Try allinone script frm development section. It free's a hell lot of memory. It needs cf-root or cm7 to work.

Dont jus say thanks, use d 'Thanks' button. [XDA-RULE]
If you don't like scripts try the Ram manager app by Juwes11, it helps maintain some free ram.
some apps cannot be killed/are persistent so don't bother killing those.
Thanks guys! Will try them out
autostarts is a great app to prevent useless apps from restarting/starting in a certain situation. (e.g. when you start your phone/wifi etc.)
Used it for a few months and im very happy with it.
Wont it close the app when I start it up manually though? Have you had any errors with it?

when i bought SGA then i noticed first thing ram usage was high as there were most of bloatwares from samsung which were starting on there on...
rooted it on that day and removed them
now on CF-ROOT using allram script
Ooo what does that script do and how do I get it?

for that you need to install CF-ROOT kernel which is pretty good..
look here
but if you are on locked device do confirm that it is safe or not to install kernel as it may make thing much worse..
if it is unlocked ace then feel free to install it right way..
if you are new to flashing this thing then there is complete guide for cf-root Here
and allinoneram script here
Oh man thanks a lot dude! Ill thank you when I go on my pc. I don't know how to thank through the app. XD

is your phone unlocked??
then surely give it a try
I'm not sure. How can I tell if its unlocked? The boot animation from my phone company is gone was soon as I upgraded to 2.3. Do I need to switch it to a different company's simcard or something?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA App
yeah if you can use phone with other service provider sim card then its unlocked one
and if you get some error or no network then mostly its locked
Well if its not unlocked, how can I unlock it?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA App
well about this i will not suggest anything as i have seen many people just ****ing up there phones with no success but some says it works....
some method works but i will not encourage you for doing things and screwing phone
Oh okay. I can't wait to give the whole ram thing a try though. About how much free do you have? Mines circles at around 70-90 and sometimes lower.

nonono xD For instance. When i start my wifi some apps automatically starts, and i dont want that (bec it would be a pain if my 5+ apps started everytime i did that).
And also, some apps starts when the phone turns on, even though they dont need to be started. If you manually start an app autostarts wont harm it.
Oh okay. Sounds really good! Can't wait to see it in action

Usage Monitor disappeared!

My wife and I both have Rezounds. I went to show her the Usage Monitor so she could track her minutes, and its not in her App Drawer. Titanium Backup shows it as installed though. I've tried to freeze and defrost it in an effort to make it come back, but it didn't work. Any suggestions?
Look at settings - power - battery usage.

Appreciate the reply, but I think you misunderstood. The Rezound comes with an app that lets you track your minutes/text/data usage so you don't go over your monthly allowance. I'm not looking to track battery usage.
Go to your widgets its not an app.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA App
No, what the op is referring to is an app, not a widget.
Op try clearing cache and restarting. If that doesn't work...try a different launcher and see if that gets the app to show up in the app drawer. If that doesn't work, I'd look at getting adb running and shell in to the system to see if u can see the app listed in /system/app, if so copy it to the sdcard and try installing it on the phone from there.
Otherwise, worst case scenario, a restore.

I had this issue on my incredible 2 running sense 3.5 roms. If you have Verizon my mobile app installed it overwrites or hides the usage monitor app.
If you uninstall Verizon my mobile and restart the rezound usage monitor will show up.
I just tried it and it worked. The one Dev I mentioned it to back on the inc2 hypothesized that the apks are similar and thus causes the stock usage app to disappear.

I had this same problem on my droid X. What I did is, I used TB to freeze the "updater". This stopped the alerts and prevented me from updating to Gingerbread, which I did not want ( I wanted to stay on Froyo).

I think it is FWUpgrade 1.2.0 on the S3 that you could freeze.
BTW what was so great about froyo, gingerbread was much better imo.

Mostly just to have the Jelly Bean features. Jelly Bean also introduces tweaks to the system to make it smoother and faster (project butter). If you are perfectly happy on CM9, then you dont HAVE to update.
And this afternoon, so far, about hours, it works good, no restart, and i install de cyboot, to make android boot default, so, even if it restart, it will restart to android, so no big problem now.
