I'll be pre-ordering. and £100 for VAT unfortunately isn't a shocker. don't forget, VAT in the UK is 20% on top of the base price.

Both 32GB and 64GB are £550??? they made a typo or just want customers.
From experience I have found Clove are always more expensive.
Better off for it to be released and then compare between stockists and no doubt it will be more like £499 including VAT from the better stockists.
the 64gb comes without the dock. the 32gb comes with the dock
I have pre-ordered the 32GB version, hopefully the price will come down? If it is cheaper elsewhere can always cancel it. January is pretty far away..

Guess that could be a little vague on when they charge you. I did Google it, and other posts have said they don't charge until it is ready to ship. Only way to be sure would be to ask Clove.

yeah but then add on import duty to that when it arrives in the UK and it'll probably figure out about the same.
I always figured it would work out a bit more than £499 anyway.
I'm not going to preorder it at a £50 premium over what was previously announced... going to wait to see what happens at other stores first.

You wouldn't pay import duty when getting something from Germany as its in the EU.
Tis on the amazon Germany website and in gold (or should I say bubbly colour) at 600 Euro which would still be cheaper than clove, though I have registered my interest with them!!
I have a mate who can speak German visiting tomorrow so will get him to check out the webpage and not rely on google translate lol
Today Clove are taking pre-orders for the champagne gold TP.
I wasn't picky yesterday so pre-ordered a grey one, today I'm in a fussy mood so have fired off an email to them asking them to amend my order to the gold one.
I have pre-ordered phones from Clove a couple of times in the past and they've always been honest with the price and availability. If the retail price is to be £499 in the UK I expect the price to come down before launch day and that is what they'll charge - or refund the difference.
Oh yes, one suggestion - select Royal Mail Special Delivery in case of a Friday dispatch so there's the chance of it being delivered on the Saturday. I left the option as Citylink when I pre-ordered my HTC Desire when my mate selected Special Delivery for his and he got to play with his phone 2½ days before me (once I'd got home from work on the Monday).

Other than best buy, futureshop and Staples, are there any other pre order sites?
I have a champagne transformer pre ordered from staples, as they were the only local retailer that had that color code for pre-order, however I noticed that they have pulled that sku from their website entirely. Not sure what that means but when I called Staples to find out they said that it was a possibility that only a certain number of that color code were available.
I did ask about estimated shipping and the rep had told me it is still slated of the week of Dec 12. So hopefully everything goes through without a hitch.
Has anyone else had this issue at all?
The only two other two places I know you can preorder is ncix.com and memoryexpress.com. Both of those places have the champagne version as well which is why I ordered mine from memory express.
I am just hoping mine gets in before the 21st because I ordered mine in calgary and won't be flying there until the 21st (figured I would save some taxes and not ruin my finals studying with a new toy!).
My last email from Best Buy Canada said the release date was Dec 5, but other than that, no word. I wonder if we are really getting it early here in Canada vs. the US.

Memory express and NCIX have 64gig versions. Although the fact those other big guys don't have it doesn't leave me with confidence that those two will actually be getting them at the same time as the 32gig versions. I am even a bit scared my champagne unit will be late as well since its just those 2 that have it.
Memory Express had 64GB TFs available for preorder in both grey and gold, last time I checked.

Would have like to have ordered from Futureshop but they don't deliver in Quebec because of language laws so I ordered from NCIX. I ordered the original TF from them and got it the second week it came out. Another bonus is I only pay GST and shipping is fairly reasonable. I also ordered from Amazon.ca but I have a feeling I wont get it this month. I'll be canceling the other order once the first one comes in.

dang. I emailed them to ask about it and they emailed back saying they have some info and if I could call them which I figure is bad news. I had an order for champagne gold and mentioned in this thread how I was worried it wouldn't be coming. I gave them my number so we will see if they call me and what they say.

Well memory express called and said that the only unit they will be getting in is the 32gig grey and the dock. Said that asus said they guess that the champagne gold version will be released sometime in February. Pretty disappointed as I was really starting to like the look of the gold! Ah well as long as they actually get them in around christmas!
Appreciated that they took the time to call me about the order though, the guy at memory express was nice and explained how pissed they were at asus.

Full price personally. I'm assuming Amazon isn't getting as many as they initially thought which is why they are canceling many orders. Possibly why they aren't listed on Asus' preorder page as well as why they stopped taking orders before everyone else.

Everyones orders whose has been canceled are removed from their history. You can reference your original email or the one they sent stating it was canceled. Again I suspsect they aren't receiving a whole lot of initial shipment and probably decided it best to let people re-order on a first come first serve basis once they do. Hence why they stopped taking orders and their product pages aren't even visible without originally having the url.
Ouch! Guess supply will be short this season...

try at www.cyberport.de , they listed it as 2-4 days, luckily i got mine delivered yesterday from them and njying it
they only have 64GB models available

but it's a good sign anyway.

I can't confirm that - I've ordered a lot of stuff at Cyberport, and I'm really satisfied with their customer support.
Does anybody know if the 32gb model is available without the dock? I can't find it anywhere, not even on Geizhals.at or Amazon.
Here in Switzerland its early-mid January. 32gb+dock bundle or 64gb for the same prize are the offers. @digitec.ch

Got an email today from notebooksbilliger.de. They shipped my TF Prime, a 64GB gold version, yesterday.
So I will get it by friday (today)!!!
I pre-ordered it 14th November.
I also pre-ordered the same model from amazon (de). But they say it won't be available before 19th January.
But as I will get it today from notebooksbilliger.de I will cancel the order as soon as I hold it my hands.
Still no update on the qwertz keyboard docking. Notebooksbilliger.de has never provided a possibility to pre-order it stand-alone, nor has cyberport.de. The only one who offers it is amazon (de) but they cannot tell when it will be available.
Got an update from amazon.de (32Gb incl. dock, grey, preordered on Nov 17th) about a hour ago.

Amazon Germany page says "Available in 1 to 2 months" for the Prime 64 GB grey. There is no bundle with keyboard for the 64 GB version in Germany (afaik)...
But apparently the status doesnt mean too much considering my first post!
Mine (32GB incl. dock, grey, pre-ordered on Nov 17th) is on its way, too.
Estimated delivery is Jan 4th.

In my experience, if you change something about your order (address or bank account), it seems to "update" your shipping status faster. My shipping status yesterday morning was "unknown". After i changed the shipping address & payment option, it immediately changed to "shipping soon" and is now on its way....
Maybe you should try that ;-)

Ordered mine from Office Depot yesterday. Called to verify (1/12 4:45pm est) they truly had some in and was told at that time they had 37 in the warehouse. However, she could not tell me a color, lol. No matter where she went on her computer it wasn't listed. It made me nervous as I already have the Dock sitting here until I checked "Product Details" and it is model TF201-B-GR. I feel better. Not 100% but at lest 85% I'm getting the correct color. Order shipped and I should have it Tuesday.

There are some FRYs Electronics stores that have few of them in stock in the back room. You can have an employee look up the SKU and they should be able to tell you whether they *actually* have them in stock there.

dont pay more than retail prices $499.00 for the prime and $149.99 for the dock). they are starting to show up in stores they previouly did not. i found mine at a place i would have never guessed. i found mine at "best buy mobile" (a stand alone store from best buy). i found my dock at "gamestop".
Surf some forums and online retailers for deals and competitive pricing... because in most cases you can insist on Best Buy offering you a price match guarantee if found within reasonable means.
Usually, they will match it, especially if you're showing serious interest in the product.

dont pay more than retail prices $499.00 for the prime and $149.99 for the dock). they are starting to show up in stores they previouly did not. i found mine at a place i would have never guessed. i found mine at "best buy mobile" (a stand alone store from best buy). i found my dock at "gamestop".

So why are people paying 150.00 to 200.00 more on ebay.I thought I was missing something,like a gpld bottom or something.The best price I found was 489.00 with a one warranty.The warranty I seen was 109.00 for 2 years.I no I am rolling the dice on getting one that has no problems but they look to good to pass up now.

Because its in such high demand and is the hottest tablet out right now. Being the most powerful by far of any.
Sam's Club has them in stock right now, $494. There's a $40 membership fee, but you can cancel the membership at any time if you don't get value from it and get a full refund of the fee.

Firstly stay off of fleabay. There is no fleatailer that is an authorized distributer so there is NO warranty or at best the warranty went into effect when they bought it. If you look closely there are but one or two listed there where they actually have them. Oh yes they list them as in stock but read the shipping details where they all pretty much say the same thing. Back in Jan. they all said ships in APPROXIMATELY 4 weeks, now they all give an APPROXIMATELY Feb 9th. They are doing a pre order and slamming folks with a rediculous price. Every time new technology of any kind hits the markets the same thing happens. I see it all the time with cameras and lenses. They buy up the inventory on pre order so folks that just want one cant find one then sell them far above retail. Before they pubished get rich quick on Ebay it used to be a decent place to find decent deals, not anymore as the pages are flooded with overpriced items and mostly not even a bid situation but buy it now! Just keep searching and find a REPUTABLE retailer where you get a full warranty and it doesnt cost you more.

thanks for that info,if I do decide to get one and thats a big if with all the problems I have been reading about here on this forum I will buy it from brandsmart or best buy and get the warranty for sure.
I read a post where a guy took his apart because the wifi had a bad connection and the gps did not work.
Can't figure that one out yet.

I got mine off Amazon. Perfect. $499 for 32GB Grey. Never ever pay more than max retail on any device.
In 1 month, there will be a pile of these things everywhere. Don't buy into the rush.
I waited almost 2 months and spotted it on Amazon, free shipping. Got it in 2 days. So far so good. However, I still like my Xoom more.

If your not in a wifi area you will not pick up the internet with the prime and that was my first pick,is that correct.
Same with the sony s and I liked both of them.I need the web so I am looking at the zoom because I have verizion and for $20.00 a month I get 2 gigs
