I thought the 10.1 was a later model which was thinner with a larger capacity battery and has HC 3.1 whereas the v which was originally released under Vodafone is fatter has an 8mp camera instead of 3mp but so far only runs HC 3.0

You want the 10.1 section. I'm pretty sure nuclearmonkeyuk is right.

Ok, so after two weeks of ownership, I have noticed a slight flaw with the Note. While using S-Memo, I am constantly touching the capacitive buttons, causing the phine to exit to the home screen. It's nearly nearly impossible to avoid this issue, because my hand naturally lays on the screen while writing or sketching. I fond this quite annoying. Unfortunately, I have no programming skills, otherwise, Id create a utility that would disable the capacitive buttons when using the s-pen, or any app designed for writing or drawing.
Other than that, the Galaxy Note is without a doubt, the top banana of cell phones. I absolutely love this phone, and haven't put it down since I got it.

not to be mean, but i think you may have a unique style of writing there. I personally lay my elbow or forearm on the table and my hand is actually off the paper/phone. how do you even write with your hand on the note?
Well, I would think it would be an easy mod to disable the Galaxy Note capacitive buttons and enable the on screen ones in ICS. Then it would make navigation with the spen even easier. In fact, I might try this right now.
if you wrote with your wrist off the table/paper/pad, your arm's gonna get tired. Standard is the side of your hand/palm resting on the surface.
That said, when using the s-pen, I tend to cradle the phone in one hand while writing with the other (and not laying the phone on a surface).

It is, you're right, but most of the Samsung apps don't play nicely with the navigation buttons.

That wasn't mean at all. Not sure if my writing style is unique. I've always reated the side of my hand on any surface I'm writing or drawing on. I've tried "levetating" my hand above the Note, but I find it incredibly difficult to write in that position.

No problems here. Have you considered using it in a different orientation? Landscape or reverse landscape?
My hand is usually to the side of the screen, not near the buttons.

I have. I've tried every position possible, without performing contortion. My hand naturally finds its way to a natural writing position. Grrr

In all honesty, I've *never* hit a capacitive button while writing with the S-Pen on the note. Standing or sitting. You must write like a gorilla.

You must have elf hands.
In the stock video player you can lock the capacitive buttons by pressing volume up + power. maybe there's a similar solution in other apps?

Hey ppl. I just bought my Sprint Galaxy S III. I've searched but found no answer. I was wondering why the US version (or at-least the Sprint version) of the Galaxy S III does not have the adjustable screen color profile option and the international Galaxy S III does? I've read that it is on the international version but why not ours. This option was also on the Galaxy S II. I loved this feature because I liked my screen as vibrant as possible, yeah I know the colors aren't realistic but I don't care. Any body have an idea about this? I know I'm not the only one who noticed.
The US versions don't have this option.
I wish I could make my screen as vibrant as possible too.

That sucks ass....why would they remove this option? I can't think of 1 possible reason why it would hurt to leave it..
They removed it I believe because we have a different cpu/gpu so it won't work

it's not a hardware feature on the galaxy SL, s2, galaxy3, galaxy s+, galaxy s1, but either way they managed enabling it by adjusting some values on the touch driver, i think it is possible that it can be done on the SGS3 too, i've been looking trough my phone to find the driver, it has to be in the SYS folder, if we find that it might be very possible that we can get floating touch working on the sgs3
I' d like bump this topic now..
We all know s4 came out with floating touch feature. so i was wondering if it is a hardware req or can it be ported to s3 ?? what are the restrictions ?
Can someone make it possible for s3?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Galaxy s4 has dedicated hardware which gives proper response where as in galaxy SL and other devices we are just increasing the touch sensitivity

No matter how, floating touch is still possible on s3
But I don't know if there are any adverse effects of increasing the touch sensitivity?
