Q: ST15i gps antenna location and bizarre operation.

Hello!
I would like to know where gps antenna in ST15i is located?

If I am not mistaken, wasn't it somewhere in upper left corner?

Thanks!
Maybe you can help me with other issue... I am having problems getting gps fix, unless I put my phone on a metal can or a metal light bar on the street or etc. As far as I can understand it is because of the gps antenna... It not strong enough and the metal is like an accelerator.
Should I replace the antenna then or...

But still the antenna receives strong signal when I put it on a metal beer can? It's hilarious, I need a beer can to navigate.

Possible broken speaker

Nooo i was in the bath and i always leave phone on tiled side with music on (back facing down as it sounds louder). I do it all the time, its not really near but i must have flicked some water over and its gone into the speaker and its gone really tinny. It also stops playing at random. I know this is probably a little futile but does anyone have any suggestions for how to dry it out (if possible) or if there is anything i can do to sort it out. Cheers

Do you mean the earpiece or the speaker? Try a hairdryer

What are the two gold contacts next to the sim card?

Ok guys I have an SGH-I717 which recently loses signal rapidly. I noticed that one of the copper connections were bent inward and not making good contact with the rear cover I pulled it upward and it worked correctly. Ah the problem re appeared and looked at the contact which is cracked now. I thought this was only a nfc contact any clue of what this really is. I am also lookin for a service manual. Thanks for your help in advance.

You thought right, those two contacts are for NFC. Just to see if it would affect the signal I pulled the cover on my phone and the signal didn't change at all.
Thank you its very annoying the usb port was recently replaced and signal had been acting up but it worked perfect all day yesterday its as if its the network

I am back up and running finally got the correct usb charging port version. Signal and mic are clear. It feels so good to be back up and running on my phablet

Vibrate and hepatic feedback issues

So, randomly my vibrate just stops working randomly for the phone and then suddenly works again. I just updated my firmware and it just started happening recently. I'm assuming it's the software but any ideas what I can do?

I seem to have the same issue
I think its a hardware fault or at least with my case it is. its happened across 3 different firmwares and i have found that shaking or hitting my phone actually fixes it, this proves to me few possible
For you id recommend flashing a new firmware one more time and seeing if it shows up again, if it does then it is defiantly a hardware issue
Ill be sending my Z2 back
Details for others (about my device):
Camera lense is off centre
Gap at the top right
Gap at the bottom left
Audio jack doesent look right + very small gap
Random vibration loss

Mine did it and shaking it helped as well but idk if that's a placebo because it hasn't done it since I flashed a new kernel and rom on the phone... So there's that lol. I also have a tiny gap on the bottom left but it's barely noticeable in fact I didn't notice it until you pointed it out. I love the phone and not gonna use my square trade warranty for it just yet

if the vibration issue shows up again then you know its a hardware issue, its better to have something working but not something faulty, faulyt things just kill them selfs more
And im with you, I love the phone more than my old phone, i realy dont want to send it back, i just want to play games @60fps but unfortionately it is a problem that is affecting the user (thats me )
ive had alot of other issues
here are some more i forgot to list
No heating with camera but majour heating just doing random tasks:
Camera apears to take photos in a very red hue
There is a Gap on the top left of the screen too
some others, too tired to think
Same problem here with the haptic feedback. It happens cuts out now and again while typing but seems to start working again on its own after a few more presses.
Not overly bothered as am very happy with the phone otherwise so won't return it to the manufacturers until it packs in completely within my warranty period.
I have got slight gaps on the screen on the bottom left and top right and maybe a slight off centre rear camera but if I hadn't known to look for these I wouldn't and don't really see them as a problem.

Agreed, I don't think it's a hardware problem to be honest so we will see what happens when it gets updated a little more as I've seen some people with this problem.

Hmm did it again today, don't know what to do at this point since I imported this phone... I don't know if it's hardware or software honestly

Yeah if I shake it it goes away but It could be voltage output that's making it worse or something, I heard the motor is actually easy to access and replace so if it comes to that I could to that possibly. I haven't factory reset it at all and I upgraded my firmware and it's worse then the one I had on stock... Odd to see so many people with this issue though.

It could be a manufacturing bug, some types of robots need to be taught how to do their job and can realy eadilu guess the rest
This doesent seem to be a batch spesific issue

No it seems like a lot of people to having this issue as far as I know. I'm gonna just deal with it for a while if I have to... Coming from the m8 which had even more quality control issues and going through like 5 of those.. Kind of tiring lol and I guess you can't strive for perfection although this should be fixed... Maybe someone can call Sony and chime in and let us know exactly what's going on and if they're aware of this issue.

VIBRATE issue

Hi!
Sometimes vibrate in my Xperia Z2 doesn't work... :crying: What is going on?
Ive have the issue too and it seems to be a hardware issue
The issue persists across firmwares
Im replacing my device in hopes i dont face the same issue, i recomend you do the same if posible
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I was having this issue as well but it seems to have stopped randomly after a little. What I did was touch a magnet to the bottom on back and hopefully set it back in place. Hasn't stopped in over 24 hours. Another thing I'd recommend is if you're bootloader unlocked and you're turning you're voltage down to stop cause that could be the cause of it since the motor isn't getting enough voltage
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
Well I spoke too soon... Just stopped vibrating till I hit it. Sigh :/

So I'm bringing the phone into square trade... They're gonna look at it and see if they can fix it... I hope they notice it since it's not all the time... If they can't fix it they're gonna reimburse me for it.
