Modem and radio will not be changed, so you don't need to reflash them.
Since you have to wipe before flashing CM10:
·Contacts should be synced with Google. Just in case, use Go Backup (or another one, but Go Backupis great and free) to backup.
·Pictures/videos will be in the internal/external SD card so they won't be deleted (don't wipe internal/external sd card...).
·SMS/MMS will be lost too. Use Go Backup to backup.
·Apps: Use Go Backup to backup.

Hey,
You can theoretically just flash CM10 over CM9 and keep all your data... I suggest doing a full backup of CM9 first though. As for your modem/Radio, no need to reflash... You can keep the one you'Re running as long as it suits your needs.

In a i9100, not so much (no hwcomposer so not Project Butter), athough it works great (I use CM10 since first day in i9100).
i9100G has HWcomposer working so everything is smooth and has official nightlies, so I'd say definitely yes. Anyway, just try. If you don't like... flash CM9 back!
Best luck

You said me "Since you have to wipe before flashing cm10"
But which wipe must i do ? data factory, cache partition,...
And some people say that after flashing cm10, must do a wipe to... really necessary ? If yes, which wipe ?
Sorry, i don't understand all these notion of wipe... i read doc about it but...
If somebody could answer me quickly, because i'm downloading cm10 and i would try it... I'm little exciting...
Cordially.

The firsts versions of CM10 required wipe data (factory reset) before and after flashing.
Before flashing, wipe data (factory reset) and cache (I think factory reset also wipes cache), and if you wish, advanced->Wipe dalvik cache.
Later versions don't require wipe after anymore (I don't wipe after flashing anymore), but you lose nothing wiping after flashing if you want to be sure...

Thanks for your quick answer...
Then if i choose "cm-10-20120824-NIGHTLY-i9100g.zip", i must do a "wipe data/factory reset" and a "wipe cache partition", after i install my cm10.zip, and after, if i want, i can do again the same thing "wipe data/factory reset" and a "wipe cache partition".
And normaly, i won't lost data in my sdcard and external sd ?

Just wipe data/factory reset.
And no, you won't lose data in sd memory.
PS: I never ask anyone to press the Thanks button, but after all these answers, if I helped you it would be nice you press the button in my posts (and the other who replied too)

Hey guys, last week I installed MROM (http://www.montuori.net/android-mrom/atrix-mrom/) and had been using it without having any problem, I loved it. Yesterday, I heard a kernel that can be good for battery life so I wanted to install it. (http://www.montuori.net/android-mrom/atrix-kernels/ sv build) I installed it and first boot took about 10+ mins. but after first reboot it was normal. And I started having problems like it freezes and the phone shut down itself. sometimes restarts itself. and when using an application (like facebook, dolphin browser, games etc.), it suddenly closes the application.
I also tried to install other kernels but it gives me an error when I try to install it (installation aborted error) . how can I go back to my first MROM times? but I don't want to lose any data in my phone like my applications and settings. How can I do it? Can anybody give me some advice?
Also, what's that MROM update.zip? Is there anybody who knows it? If I install it, does it solve the problem that I'm having?
If I install MROM again, does it delete the apps in my phone? Its an emergency guys, I can't use my phone normally. Thanks in advance.
Happy new year!!
Wipe cache & dalvik cache, then reinstall mrom. Your apps, etc should be unaffected.

I still can't install even MROM. gives an error, exactly like;
--Installing: /sdcard/atrix-MROM-20121111.zip
Finding update package...
Openin update package...
E:Can't open /sdcard/atrix-MROM-20121111.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.--
I'm about to lose my mind. :/
you could try to re-install MROM and see where this gets you - do not wipe any data/system when installing and you should have everything still on your phone.
IF that fails to solve problem you could try and use Titanium back up to save YOUR apps (not system apps) and then do a full wipe of your phone and re-install MROM
I'm around for a bit so will check on how you're doing
good luck
when i try to reinstall, it gives me the same error. now im going to back up my all apps and after that factory reset and finally will try to reinstall mrom. I'll write when I do this. thanks
I did everything right, wiped all data cache and tried to reinstall mrom but it gives me the same error :/

what happens when you turn on phone?
are you able to install another rom?
It might be an idea to download a fresh copy of MROM and see if that helps?
also, after putting the new rom on the phone but before installing go to 'mounts and storage' (in the CWM menu list) and format the following 'pre-install, system, osh, data and cache'
I hope that helps.

I'm out of my mind. :/

I thought, If I try all these steps from the begining, maybe it'd be successful (from stock rom!!) so that I installed back my stock rom with RSD Lite. and rooted, unlocked, installed CWM Recovery. and I have just tried to install MROM but it's still giving me the same error. I really can't understand why... It was like my first day of my phone, I did every single step from the begining, but still the same error. omg

Today this is what i did: i installed the MOD 2.12.29 with the control panel with 4way reboot and center clock and message app landscape mode fix (ofc every single wipe: data, calvik, cache.), camera in this version works prefect, atm is running fine, hope it wont go on black screen after lock it and also the SYM key on keybord is not showing you know the symbols we got on a stock ICS.
By the way ¡¡¡EXCELENTE!!! ROM i rlly rlly like it, thats why im trying to make it works on my phone, seems like im the only one with this kind of error xd, well gotta see if it works fine with this one and wait till a new release is out from this ROM, thx again.

keyboard sym bug is bug that needs to be fixed from source, it's not major anyways. About your bug in 3.1.11, i believe you made wrong wipes, or it could be a kernel thing, i don't know, try with stock one, and format EVERYTHING (wipe data, wipe cache, format system, cache and data, wipe dalvik and wipe battery stats, then install, with stock kernel, if it works, then flash another kernel, if it breaks, that was it)
Try cm9 or cm10. CM looks pretty good, has a lot of features(especially CM10) and doesn't use too much of RAM.

Camera fix:
Go to system/lib in rom that has working camera and copy liboecamera.so to your phone.
Then push it to system/lib on your phone using apply like root explorer.
Now set permissions to r-w-r-r (chmod 644).

Theres some holidays here (Carnivals xd) sorry for not answer lately, i tried again with both MIUI (sandy7 and yours (anerik)) but they didnt work at all, i restart the phone to stock 4.0.4 and stock kernel ofc you know with the rooting guide, but the same, tried srsly yesterday like 7 times with no answer from the phone with both ROMs )': dont know what else to do.
This were the things i cleared in the CWM: wipe data and factory reset, wipe cache partition, in mount and storage i performed the formate for /cache, /system and also tried with /data, but still giving the same error ): with the MIUI, both...
So i give up and leave it in 4.0.4 stock, with new Mesa kernel :crying: i do rlly want to run the MIUI on my big giant but idk if im doing something wrong ):
Maybe could be the SD card? it's free of virus ofc but should i tried to format it.
Any suggestions from the professional team please? And thx again.

Sure, you can format it. It's really weird, with root, cwm, in ICS .587 (be sure to be on that, not .431) you should be able to get MIUI... I usually wipe data, wipe cache, format system, wipe dalvik cache, and then install rom, and it works just fine. You are doing something wrong

Did you ever solve this problem? I have tried with TWRP: Fixed permissions, wiped Dalvik cache and other cache. Problem persists.

I used TWRP's Fix Permissions and the problem is gone. Hopefully for good.
Probably the cleanest solution HERE
Whenever I use ANY rom that isn't based on stock I get random reboots. I'm currently on stock ics and really want to be able to run later versions of android. I can run padawan rom and blackstar perfectly fine without any random reboots but for other roms I somehow get random reboots. Am I flashing roms the wrong way or is something wrong with my phone?
Any help is appreciated!

After flashing new ROM, did you wiped cache+dalvic cache and factory resetted your phone?
If not then do so, it'll be helpful for you.
Also try to clean flash your ROM, after wiping system and data.
PS: Also check the ROM your flashing is stable enough and don't have major bugs.

Clean flash ROM > wipe cache+dalvic cache > reboot > flash gapps > wipe cache+dalvic cache > reboot > factory reset > reboot
Hope the above thing works

Order is incorrect. Factory reset, wipe cache and dalvic cache, flash ROM, flash a compatible gapps package, wipe cache and dalvic cache again, reboot system. Let rom fully boot. Only enter your wi-fi and google account info at this time (If asked) .Let settle for at least 10 minutes after boot before playing with your newly installed ROM. Best to use gimmeitorilltell's TWRP version 2.8.0.0 or possibly newer or most recent CWM. Use of incorrect gapps, or fiddling with a roms settings before letting it settle in will result in problems. Follow instructions/tips in the OP of the forum thread dedicated to your your chosen ROM.

Ok, I'll bite again....
Many who have had ongoing, unexplainable things going on with their phone recommend 1)a new or different battery (a fresh battery does wonders) or 2)wiping everything and going back to full stock....whatever shipped with your phone. Like a reset. Start over.
Edit: and lollipop gapps come in 5.0 and 5.1 and like I said earlier make sure you've got the right ones.

I did both of those already. I'm currently using a new battery and went back to stock multiple times then returning to a rom. Nothing seemed to work.

Well im not having random reboots now thanks for the help though I hope it stays this way. But I get reboots when changing cup speed and governor or stay in camera app for too long. Probably just the rom itself. Thanks all for the help! I'll tell if anything goes wrong:good:
