They actually make a version of the Streak for T-Mobile (AWS Streak) and the prices for those have come down recently.

I have moved to t-mobile as i am getting fast speeds and I'm living out in the countryside. There is a mast about 3miles or so away from me. I was surprised i could get 3g etc....goodbye O2

Should definitely work, it's unclear if AT&T will automatically 'upgrade' your data plan to match the smartphoneishness of the Streak, however.

You can but they will upgrade it to the $25 2GB data plan... happened to me after about a weeks use or so... sucks right?
same thing with me, i fought with them for over a month trying to keep my media net plan and i came from a htc fuze. thay kept saying the fuze was not a smartphone and the streak was so thats how they get away with screwing us out of our unlimited media net we have had for years! funny but when i purchased my htc fuze it was listed as a smart phone with windows mobile and i was never forced to upgrade my data plan then? att jerkoffs
quick question... im just wondering if our t-mobile vibrant.. can connect to 4g service? im currently have on my plan is T-mobiile android unlimited web and i just found that they got a different service the tM 4g web service. and its about the same charge every month. im thinking to try to switch on that one.. but i want to make sure if it will work on my vibrant?

You can improve the 3G and get get a little better than 3 g I have gotten 6.8 dl and 3.8 up so that is fast enough for me........
Hey guys, noob here, and I just recently flashed a ROM I found on Xda that supposed to be just like the droid razr. I am loving the ROM but something is confusing me. Sometimes my phone shows 4g LTE in the status bar when my phone should only be getting 3g from T Mobile. I checked on the guys page and I can't find anything on the subject. Is it possible that my phone is getting 4G coverage?

I highly doubt it since the vibrant only supports 3g now as for the t959v thats the 4g varient of our vibrant with a different modem if memory serves me right.
Though I have noticed my 3g speeds down right blow past my sidekick4g's speeds but ofcourse that might just be due to it being a sidekick4g >.>

No, i know what ROM you are talking about. It is a port from the Razr and the Razr has 4G LTE. When it says 4G LTE on the Vibrant it means you have 3G.

Hey guys,
I'm kind of new to android stuff, so bear with me .
About a week back I bought this Motorola Photon 4g for Sprint off craigslist and used the kddi radii trick to make it work on GSM networks, namely T-Mobile. Right now imeon the hybrid 2.3.5 rom, but even when I was in the stock sprint rom, the carrier name randomly shows up as T-Mobil instead of T-Mobile. Is there any way to fix this other than spoofing the carrier name? Thanks for the help!
From what I know, the name is stored in SIM card, try to replace it with carrier.
Thanks, I'll try that. I'm actually planning on doing that soon anyway . The strange thing is it sometimes shows the full name T-Mobile, I'm still trying to figure that out haha

My phone does this too, I'm not sure why. To me it seems like it says 'T-Mobil' when signal is pretty weak, but i have overall weak signal in my apartment so it could just be me making a bad guess.

i guess it belongs to 2G/3G. coz when you are having connected to 2G it tells you T-mobil
while when you are connected to 3G it tells you T-mobile.

Tmobiles 4g is HSPA+ which is technically 3g

You guys must be in the refarm area cause the 3g frequencies are the same as the iPhone's. I'm still waiting on that . Btw I got a new SIM and it hasn't said T-mobil yet so maybe it's just a certain kind of sim that does it?

hey xda long time i dont post for help from the comunity its joust that xda has gave me really good info on roms and what not but im a little stuck on this issue for a while now and need some advice i have my galaxy note i717 runing black stars latest rom and have tryed flashing radios to get good 4g but im joust geting only 1.5 mbps download and like 300 upload and im on t mobiles unlimited nationwide 4g plan so its suposed to be faster oh and i live in kissimme florida so pleas helpp :crying::crying:
First off, which radio are you using? I'm on CM9, Tmobile official radio & I average anywhere from 1.5-9mbps down & .2-1.5 up.

Since you are using the ATT version of the note on the Tmobile network, you may not get speeds as advertised from tmobile...
The radios we have are marginal performers for many TMO users...
The blaze radio is giving the best performance, but again, is not always showing the speeds of a true TMO device on that network...g
