has anyone contacted sony service center regarding the tint issue?
if yes please reply
i hav got the yellow tint and my retailer has agreed to replace it for another phone!!
please continue talking about this issue in this thread if u are from india
I have the same issue with mine, i have a yellowish frame around the whole screen..
I contacted Sony Italy twice via email and in two weeks they still haven't replied! Getting a bit upset about this, ignoring me isn't gonna make me or the problem go away
I dont have tint but white colour does seem a bit yellowish specially in the bottom half part of the screen. I think it's the screen guard causing such view but tomo m going to sony centre and compare it with other phones and check if its ok or no...

Sounds very much like the yellow tint alot of users have complained about, with many pointing out a yellowish tint at the bottom of display.
Let me refer you to threads already made about the issue, no need to make a thread for every country when it's widespread and when there's already threads confirming it, and what to do about it.

i went to the retailer from whom i bought the phone and he promised me a new handset then and there
but i looked at the imei number series of all the phones he had and they all were identical to mine so i requested him to order another piece today!
and he agreed!
this is widespread
its not only a new issue in india
there are like 5 threads already abouth this issue
you will get responses on the Screen Issue thread
good luck
FYI
over 90% of the devices dont have a very clear white at the bottom

Well good luck with your new handset, hope it resolves the problem...and dont forget to check the build version too.
i noticed a dark dead line on the top of screen of Xperia Neo which appears with dark colors for images . videos , games , applications ,,,, any thing falls in this site "i mean blue , red , grey , green ,.....",,, the depth of the darkness is proportional to the depth of the viewed color "i.e it ranges from faint grey to deep black ", i guess it's an issue of LEDs or something that couldnot emit those dark colors evidenced by not appearing with white or black
i uploaded a screen shot with white colored screen and another with greyed screen with arrows pointing to the line i mean
can anyone help ,,, i hope it's a software issue ,,, my phone is still in warranty period but i am afraid of sending it to warranty in my country because i heard that they are careless and not professional ,, and axiom "the best warranty" is not avalable in my country ,,
i am facing exactly the same problem with my xperia neo
Do you use the factory rom ?

I am not sure if its a software issue or not. Seems to me like a LCD panel issue. However, you can try flashing the stock ROM and see if it helps. For flashing, you need the stock ftf file and flash tool for neo.
You can find flash tool here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351317
For stock ROM, go here.

Its the global version of .62 firmware.
Once you download the firmware, its an easy job with flash tool.
thnx alot but i meant that i want to flash to 2.3.3
You will get 0 battery error if you downgrade.....

I think that is only when going down to 2.3.2, but not 100% sure.

Simply reflash that .62 fw, linked above. Then you will see.
That line looks like water damage
Sent from my MT11i using XDA
That is ghosting effects quite common on LCD screens flashing back stock rom won't help you with that.
Sent from my Sony Xperia Neo using Tapatalk 2
but it occurs only for dark colors ,, could it be water damage ?

Probably water damage, I left my phone near the shower, damp air might have gone inside. I sent it back to Sony, but they didn't repair anything.

I sent it to them, and they sent it back without comments. It's a waste of time to send it to them imo. It it really noticeable during normal usage? I only see the effect on a grey background.
Those pics were taken half a year ago Gingerbread with some theming

i just upgraded my phone to ICS ,, and noticed that this line is like a stamp of old screen "i.e. when it falls on dark displayed color , i can see this black line appearing as " 5:02 PM , and the signal of my operator " ,,, i mean it sounds like a screen of notifications bar is frozen and displayed in the form of this line ,,
Read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_persistence
and this: http://compreviews.about.com/od/monitors/a/LCDBurnIn.htm
and pay attention to parts where they talk about treatment or correction
also check solutions here: http://superuser.com/questions/19102/burned-in-pixels-on-tft-monitor
Ether turn off your phone for few days, or find/make white image and let it run on your phone for some time, you can set screen on for 30 minutes, so you don't need to check it so often.
Hey XDA peeps
Well, by my post counts u can telll im not a active poster here but in any case, lets get started
Device i own :
S3, GT-i9300 white
Currently running stock firmware. (gave to service centre to fix an issue and they just re-flashed the rom -.- )
Issue :
At times (not always) when i turn my screen on, it flickers a purple screen (for maybe for 0.3 seconds ) before getting back to my screen.
Ive been getting thing for a long time. I thought it was nothing, but now im worried.
I had this issue on when i had my phone brand new, when i rooted, when i using roms, etc etc.
So its like once a week i would see it.
I hope im making sense here.
So im just hoping someone out there has faced this and knows what to do, or atleast someone can guide me to a solution.
Can i ask samsung whats going on? Can this mean a possible screen replacement? (would love it, my edges arnt in the best shape )

You can ask and they may well say it requires new screen and give you the cost of replacing .
jje
I shouldn't worry about it, mine has done that occasionally on and off for as long as I've had the phone, you could try Samsung, but the problem is getting it to do it when they look at it!
Could help if you still have the original bill when visiting your local dealer. This might be a repair under warranty circumstances.
Sounds like a hardware issue to me
Good luck with your phone and please report back with any news.

I went ahead to the sc centre. They were of no help. They said thry wanted proof of the same. And I was like " how do I present a valid proof of this? " They told me record it on a camera and show them.
So what this means is that every time im turning my screen on im supposed to have a camera on? ???
Is there any way to force it? ?

I bought a S2 recently from ebay and it turns out it has a burn in, or what it appears to be, on it. Even the seller apparently didn't know about it, but I got a partial refund so its OK. Now, my question is, how can I get rid of it, if that's possible? I tried screen burn in tool for quite a long time now (5 hours) and I think it did... something. Or maybe be only answer it to replace the screen or something? The burn in isn't such a big problem and I can live with it, but it would be nice if I would be able to get rid of it. Any help is appreciated.
Replacing the display will solve the problem and removes the possibility of it happening on your old display again.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
You can't fix it. Once it's done, it's done. You can only replace the display if it bothers you that much as per the previous poster.
Thanks guys for the help I used this display tester app on the play store, and after 3 hours of working it remove my burn in almost completely.
need a big help

Use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gombosdev.displaytester and run the screen burn in fixer for about 3-4 hours. Ou may need to run or for longer though, it depends on the burn in. If the burn in stops improving, then just leave it. You won't fix it 100%, but it will be noticeable. I still have a little bit of the burn in today. It automatically sets the brightness to 100%.

Man, if it's a hardware problem, you need to consult Samsung...... Otherwise, if you want to use a custom rom, then you can flash any good rom and check if your problem is solved????
