Can't get to boot menu after urukdroid install. - Gen8, Gen9, Gen10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've installed urukdroid 1.6 droid and am able to boot up just fine. I thought I'd play around with angstrom and cm bull some more, but i can't seem to get to the multiboot menu. I tried going from off and holding volume down, but that only gets me to the recovery menu.
I should note that I removed the stock kernel or what ever, so it will boot straight to urukdroid.

When you installed UrukDroid, you erased the Multiboot.
You have to reinstall the zimage and initram for multiboot again.
After that Uruk is not reachable anymore until you install that again.

Is it possible to install urukdroid 1.6 without removing multi boot?
Sent from my A43 using Tapatalk

Not easyly.
It is described in Multiboot.
You have to copy the omap dir into lib..., change the menu.lst ...

Yuck... This is going to be fun

When you are in clockworkmod, what options are you selecting. Are you ponting it to the update you put on the SD card?
Clockwork is just fine.

[Q] Defy+ 2ndinit & clockworkmod?

Hi,
I have a rooted defy+ with 2ndinit installed and I'd like to install clockworkmod to back up my stock gingerbread.
Is it possible and safe to do it?
Thanks
Sent from my GT-P1010
The 2nd-init you installed already have clockworkmod bundled and you're ready to use it for backup.

Thank you very much
2ndinit is really a great app!
Sent from my GT-P1010
It is safe. Bu to be sure make more than on backup and charge your defy to 90%. Then you be ok.

How I can use CWM recovery and ROM Manager?
I installed the newest 2ndinit and all works fine, but - by me - it's not CWM recovery
Is there any chance to use this program? It is much more convenient.
Press the volume Button down while the blue led lights up in the booting process
Then go to recovery = Clockwork
I know how i can get info Android Bootmenu...
In menu "Recovery" option "[Custom recovery]" boots my Defy+ into "CyanogenDefy Recovery v5.0.3.1" and it's not look like CWM.
Anyway, even if it is clockwork, ROM Manager not detect it. Any solution?
Hey, rom manager isn't defy compatible, that's why the workaround, and yes, it's cwm, exactly as on open bootloader devices only other entrance!

[Q] HTC EVO 3D boot looping post kernal install.

i have recently unlocked my 3d via the htc method. I had viper rom and the stock kernel on the phone. I tried to install a new kernel(anthrax infected v9). I wiped the cache and the dalvik prior to installing the kernel, post install.zip the phone is in a continuous loop. Performed wipe of all data. Tried flashing rom and kernel again, it failed again. Asked a couple of friends what might be causing this. Found out my phone has hboot 1.5 that requires flash through fastboot. How do i fix this, please help.
Need to boot in recovery with ADB or GUI app
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
Get into fastboot by taking out battery then [power+volume down] till it loads. Once there connect to computer and use adb and type "fastboot boot recovery.img" where recovery is the name of your chosen recovery. The recovery file must be in the same folder as the adb.
Once in recovery you can flash anything. Once you have booted a ROM I would recommend downloading flash image gui from the Market and use it to flash kernels or ROM with custom kernel. Good luck. hboot 1.50 makes things just a bit more trickier.
Recovery file could be any where you want "!

NOTE: If you took the latest 651.5 update, you have to stick with kernels that have that as a base (for now).
You are likely not flashing the kernel/rom correctly. See the Guide/flashing notes in my signature for a walkthru that will likely help.
I have a similar situation. Had viper rom up and running and then it just up and quit and now it's in a continual boot loop. I'm no where near a windows CPU that I can use fastboot for the next 40 days. How can i fix with my tablet?

Ok I was flashing the aokp rom, I wiped everything. It wouldn't boot just stays on splash screen ..I reread the forum for aokp from and it said u need to have the latest recovery and I didn't ....I tried restoring from and that didn't help
sent from cm7 atrix 1.3ghz
That exact Thing happened to me.
Flashed aokp with old recovery and it was just sitting at the eepad Logo splash screen and i could still get it Into recovery.
You should Check if adb is working when your are in recovery.
So i treated mine as an Type 3 brick.
And transformed it into an Type 2 brick.
I am very sure i followed imstructions closely, but well you never know
My second idea was to replace cwm file in vipermod with the New one 5.8 and simply use the tool to Overwrite the old cwm - though adb is available in cwm it might work.
Second Option sadly doesnt work with my paperweight now

So what exactly do u recommend?

Can you boot into recovery? Try flashing a different rom?

Yes but I only have the one from on my tablet

Well my solution was to get a new TFP for now - the other one looks great as a paperweight!
1)
Look for the thread with "naked drivers". Download and install them as described in the thread. You will most likely need to get adb working when in CWM to fix it.
2) - my idea - I have no clue if it works!:
Vipermod flashes CWM through adb, maybe by replacing the old cwm blob-file with the new 5.8.2 it is possible to update you to CWM 5.8.2 without a running system.
Then - maybe - it might be possible pushing a ROM file to internal storage (i.e. Virtues ROM) and the flash that via CWM.
ASK other people who know more than I do, this is only a possibility I came up with after bricking my prime!
2a) give Un-Brick-3 option a go and see waht happens. Look in the unbrick thread and see if it has been working successfull. for me t wasnt good
I tried installing the naked drivers but I didn't work and I tried option three brick and no luck.....can I install the new recovery with fast boot then flash the rom I was trying to flash?

Bump need help
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
Well if you can get into recovery clockwork that is you need to get advanced working. I had to do it from my laptop because my desktop would not install the drivers correctly. Once you do that download another Tom and push it to you tablet.

I have done the same and I have all day to try and fix this problem atm im trying to restore an old image ill tell you what works

Its now got me to v5.8.2.0 so looks good

This is what I have done to get the newer version of CWM like it says
Download the newest CWM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1533697
Download fastboot http://androidroot.mobi/2012/02/22/introducing-cwm-for-asus-transformer-prime/ and stick the new cwm in that folder and rename the file form the first download tfp_CWM5_androidroot.blob (INCLUDING THE .IMG)
Next open CMD and cd into the directory with both the .blob and fastboot inside
Reboot prime holding power and vol down till white writing comes up then press nothing untill it has three icons on the screen now press vol down (NOT UP) once to be on the middle icon then vol up to select it (I had to pull the usb out and back in)
Once the bar has finished you can reboot now go into CWM and make sure the version is CWM v5.8.2.0+ now:
wipe data/factory reset in recovery
flash ROM
flash Gapps
reboot
It will boot
I will try this when I get back from church I I'll update u guys if it worked

What next? Stuck.

So I'm rooting my best friend's Vibrant, which is on Froyo. I did all the workarounds needed to root while on Froyo and I managed to root the phone and get recovery running (the reinstall packages one). But, I've been trying to install CM11 from recovery and it doesn't let me. First, whenever I picked the zip to install it, it would throw me with the Status 0 error, so either the zip was corrupt or the CWM was too old. So, I downloaded another CM11 and it still threw me the same error, which meant the problem was recovery. With the AIO toolbox, I managed to get a newer recovery running, but when I select the zip it says it couldn't mount /sdcard. And then /sdcard becomes unreadable in recovery until I reboot the phone. /Sdcard can be read fine when booted into the OS so I don't think it's the encryption bug. But, I can't install any ROM, and can't find any other CWM image that's more recent or maybe a TWRP image. What to do?
