Phone switches off at night while on charge - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, my phone has switched itself off for two consecutive nights while it was on charge...I've had the same firmware/ROM etc for a couple off Weeks without any problem! I'm running miui and siya kernel...however over the last few days i have installed some ten pence google sale applications...I'm not sure if any of them are to blame? Also I'm using a new theme...don't know if its to blame?
Also, I've noticed my battery drains alot more and very quickly! Had 44%, rebooted phone and it came back with 14%!!
Any ideas please?

You said you're running siyah kernel? Your screenshots say otherwise.
-I would delete the apps and themes you recently installed and install them back one by one to find the culprit.
-Try flashing another kernel
-Try a full wipe and reinstall miui.

I ordered a spare batt and now when i try to put the original one back in the phone does not boot unless i plug the charger in first then it works as normal. So every time i take the batt out i have to plug it in to the wall before i can use it? Pretty much destroys the point in why i got a spare battery

I dont know whats happening but provide the following details and someone here might be able to help.
- which ROM are you using? If stock then which region?
- since when did you start getting this problem?
- did this issue arise after you installed any application?
- did you always used the official smassung charger and battery?
Phone signal is draining out.. not to be negative but looks like you going to have a huge bill this month.

Looks like your phone crashed or froze during a period so it couldn't read the battery statistics.
Stock 2.3.4 from south east england always used default charger, not installed any new apps for weeks now. Happend after a crash followed by automatic restart. Random.

Samsung Networking Wizard stopped working for S5830i

Samsung Networking Wizard used to work fine for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i (rooted).
Some days back, a strange thing happened with my phone.
The previous night i put many apps in download list and slept.
The next day every few minutes it automatically got disconnected for few seconds and media scanning used to take place. I tried rebooting but it didn't help. So, at last i formatted the sd card and did a factory reset.
After that Samsung Networking Wizard does not work for S5830i.
The following shows up.

Any solution to this problem?
Note: PC is running Windows XP SP3.
Are you sure it's not the problem on the mobile operator?

Yes, I am sure because internet works fine on the phone.

I unrooted my phone and updated firmware through OTA.
Samsung Networking Wizard works now.
But the old problem of media scanning is back, but the frequency is less now. Only twice after reboot. Any solution?

Battery mod incorrectly shows battery is at 100%

I flashed a battery mod a few days ago, but today I've noticed that after over an hours use the battery was still showing 100% and I knew it couldn't be right so I checked the battery settings and it is on fact 91%
Why has this happened? I know I can restart my phone to correct this but I just want to know why it's showing 100 incorrectly because it could happen again and I'll think I have more battery power than I actually have.

When I restarted it now shows 85% when I in fact have 88% (shocked at how nearly 5% gone after a restart)

Can you give a link to the thread where you take the battery mod?
First guess: it only include the png file but not the modified xml file to make your phone using them...
I downloaded it from the 'Omega Files' app. It's the 'Mixed Theme' battery mod.

Should work if you use Omega rom but may not work properly on another rom
Which rom do you use?
I use ARHD but others had confirmed it working fine on this rom.
Can you recommend any others?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I still use stock rom so I can't recommend a custom rom as I have not use them...
You should post your issue in ARHD thread: if some peoples have managed to make your mod work with this rom, they probably could help you to find the issue...

[Q] Battery Life after 4,3

I've had my S4 since July and my battery would always last me until at least 8pm every night without needing a charge. Since 4.3 dropped and I've updated to it my battery life has gone to complete crap. I've used all the wakelock apps and none of them show anything out of the ordinary so I thought it was OS related and did a factory reset. That didn't work so I ordered a new battery from Amazon and gave it a 100% charge and this is what it looks like.

I've read countless threads of people with bad battery after update but not one of them has a solution. Should I do another factory reset since I got a new battery? Keep in mind I can't root this phone because it was given to me from Samsung for work so that is out of the question.
I ordered this one because a friend of mine has it and he hasn't had any issues with it so I figured I'd give it a shot http://www.amazon.com/RAVPower-SGH-...TF8&qid=1391625055&sr=8-2&keywords=s4+battery
So maybe try another reset/clear cache with the new battery?
I use anker batteries and I think they're great. If you ever thought of trying another one give one of those a shot.

The problem isn't batteries though because it started happening when using my regular oem battery.
Oh I know I was just throwing that out there

Battery drain

So I recently updated to 402 firmware but was forced to downgrade back to 55 cause of severe battery drain and now back on 55 (after a clean install) the problem persists. I haven't installed anything yet and this is what my stats look like constantly

Note: Facebook is disabled... Lol and the name of the process that appears in the icon is: ANT HAL Service. I have no idea to check what's causing this since I'm not rooted. Anyone an idea?

Alright after countless restarts and force closing of potential apps that could be draining battery I managed so somehow make screen disappear completely from battery stats. I'm gonna reflash firmware cause this is kinda bull****. I've never had such issues before 4.4 and I'm getting the impression that there's quite a few issues with it so far..
Update: after reflashing a clean rom 2nd time in a row I still can't get screen to register in battery usage :S
Anyone got tips for me? I'm this close to going back to the store and getting a replacement.
Do a full wipe and see if issues are resolved.

Didn't work, got a new device today anyway. This one came with 402 and has no issues whatsoever.
Mine too, but not so munch. 5% per night. Heavy widget and home screen installed.

I have written some tips here in my Xperia Z2 battery saving thread. No doubt it will help you. Cheers!
