So I have been poking around here while I waited for my membership to be approved. Just wanted to pop in and say hello. My Hubby just got me this phone for my b-day and I love it so far. This is my first smartphone, but I have watched him to amazing things with his incredible(he wont give it up until this phone gets unlocked). I was just wondering, when it is unlocked, will anybody be making a pink theme? I would love to get him to put that on my phone if anyone makes it. Thanks.
On a side note, they had this really weird video I had to watch before I signed up here? I thought it was really in bad taste. Anyone else agree? I mean, I'm sure things get a bit busy and hectic around here(as is proved by my husband spending countless hours on here), but no need to be rude to us that are new and wanting to learn more about this stuff. I dunno, take my opinion for just that, an opinion. Although glad I saw it when he wasn't around, he would have went bonkers and insisted I stay off here.
Anyways, hope someone will make a pink theme. Fingers crossed.

Hi Flower.
Happy birthday! If you want a pink theme, (or a million others) D/L something like ADW-EX Launcher along with Beautiful Widgets. (pink neon clock is cool) Then you'll pretty much have complete control of your entire user interface. After installing, you can go back & D/L all kinds of lady fonts, wallpapers, etc. You don't need root or unlocking for these either. Advice: if you're new to these, make only 1 change at a time. ADW is powerful & there is a learning curve. But before you know it, you'll have your phone looking like you dropped it in Pepto Bismol!

Wow. I went ahead and checked out that video. I don't like it much either. Gives a bad feeling about the community in general. I wouldn't think about it too much though. Since this is a fairly new phone, there are bound to be questions and problems that haven't been covered yet.
If it comes down to it, I'll work on a pink, theme for ya when we get root. Gonna be working on a red theme on mine too. And I'm sure my wife will get this when here upgrade is due, so two birds and all that. I'm not a real heavy themer like a few of the devs on here, but I'm sure I could get something going to hold you over till someone big steps in. Did it for my incredible before I upgraded and for my wife's incredible.

I did post it. Not sure if anyone used it though. I called it dragonbread. Mostly I just chang the 3g icon to say 4g and made it red along with making anything I could in red on the status bar. And I changed the lock screen sliders to dragon sliders. Changed a few other icons too. Don't remember everything. Nothing as extensive as some of the themes I have seen others create. Word around the forum is we're getting closr to breaking this thing. So hope full soon we can get cracking on this for ya.

Yea, I have seen more childish words and behavior on this forum in the last couple days, than I get from my four and five year olds at home fighting over a toy. All over a phone? I don't think I'll ever understand the big fuss that causes these arguments. Why can't everyone just get along and find something useful to talk about?
Oh and thanks for the link to those themers and stuff. I will try to talk to them and see what they can do.

After owning the EVO all of last year I got over needing to flash a new ROM every few days. Stock is running so well for me I don't really care. We will get AOSP ported it will just be a matter of time. I would be tickled if MIUI got ported thereafter.
Once android.git.kernel.org comes back online I'm going to start porting CyanogenMod lol... I can't do any development if I can't get source code. And I'm not paying $200 for a new phone when the MoPho was only $100 and has >= specs.
Shut the hell up with all this complaining will get you know were in life. Suck it up and learn to be patient.. they will come..

Wow the Photon source code just got released last week on 8/30 and you are complaining about not having development done on the Photon? You must not have done development before because it takes lots of time and effort to test out all bugs. Also I would say 95% of the devs that do this are not doing this full time for a living but rather on their free time. Also the Photon has made huge progress without the source code in its first month including 1) root with docking station 2) root without docking station 3) unlocked bootloader when the stock bootloader is locked. What more do you expect right now.
Just be patient and wait a couple more weeks for things to come up. If you want to get the SGSII because you think all of a sudden there will be more support then be my guest. There is no secret that the devs need the source code before they can modify anything. With the SGSII coming out it'll be a while before the source code is released. You'll see how foolish this is.

I remember when you attempted to port webos to hero lol. I ran your roms on my heroc; you're a great dev man!! I hope you can do what you did on my heroc to the photon...
Every time I get a new phone, the first thing I do is install GoSMS, GoLauncher, and GoDialer. With this phone the only non blur app I use is GoLauncher. And the only reason I use it is because I like my app drawer organized into folders, and a 5x6 grid layout. This phone is as close to perfect out of the box as I thought was possible. And everything I don't like, they have an app to change. Just my 2 cents.

Coming from the Evo-shift... this is blazing fast. I'm having trouble keeping up. We didn't get root for at least a full month.
We better settle for enjoying the stock experience.
This phone will be the red headed stepchild. I like the stock experience, sans the bugs. We should accept it or get something else.

People like you are going to chase development away. They do this for a hobby. Not to please you. Who wants to work hard in their free time just to be complained about, rushed for eta's. You pay a lot of money for your phone plan (as do we all) so you should have a device you are happy with. If that is the SGS2, than go for it.

hey all just messing with some ics pieces..today and i decided to toss up the ics boot and audio folders from the gnex dump..i didnt post the whole dump because modaco is such a great contributor to the android community & also because anyone who can do anything with it has most likely had it for the last week...for those not using it atm this boot is pretty suite looking...ICS FTW! i know this is in other forums but i wanted it here for evo 3d rom devs to work with...

You replace your current bootanimation.zip with this VIA root explorer or similar program... It is in /system/customize/resource
And it looks great!!

On phone... Goto system/media/audio and delete the four folders there. Then copy from the zip the four folders from "audio" into that location.
For the sounds that is my method but YMMV .

im working on something of the sorts ^_^ work is kinda slow however since i lost a fight with my living room wall and broke my right hand...hard to work on autos,type,do tile,...well pretty much everything...fale. i did manage to change a hub bearing assembly on my 4x4 earlier somehow though...lol

Know this is the 3D thread, but I was trying to see what folder do the audio for the boot.ani goes into and what do we name it? my video is playing flawless and no audio, I have the audio in the /system/media/audio/animation_final.mp3 Thanks!
and yes permissions rw./r../r.. as I did with the bootani and works fine inside /system/media/bootanimation.zip

What is this "Move to Secure Box" option when you long press on a text message?
I have searched both google and xda-devs looking for answers and it seems like people are putting this in their roms but provide no information about it.
I received some very important text messages yesterday. And as of last night they were gone. So I find out my daughter was playing with my phone. Moving items to a "secure box"
Where is this secure box? These messages were a key piece of evidence in a lawsuit and now they are gone.
If I cant find them, i'm out 10 grand. Any assistance at this point would be greatly appreciated.

Click the word "messages" in the tool bar at the top.

In your in box, at the top, tap messages. Then select secure box. To remove from secure box, tap and hold on the thread the select something like move to inbox.
These should be the steps. I'm on PA right now but that is from memory.

SteelH its not in form of money, It's my truck and some dumb broad who stole the title and now I can't get it registered.
So perhaps I should have said I lose my ride if I lose this case. But if you ever find yourself in PA let me know I'd gladly buy you ten beers for your help

It's all good, glad it helps. The make several locks under /settings/security/ that come in handy for little fingers. PIN works well

not that i remember.
This just made my whole day way too nice. I been having the delete messages to keep the fiance from finding out i havent stopped talking to certain people (not an affair although i woukdnt mind it)

i keep a lot of things in the secure box lol. kinda the same reason as you, not an affair but the wife would be pissed if she saw some of the people i still talk to even though there nothing more than a friend.

Yeah....looks like i have more exploring to do on my phone. I been running the Chaos rom wit the pnuema inverted theme and havent changed or explored since. Just showing it off to people.

I have opened this thread for off topic discussion. We had similar threads in the Samsung skyrocket and note 2 forums.. I find that these types of threads really help the teamwork aspect of development by giving members an outlet to talk to each other without cluttering a development thread.

i agree. it's usually the regulars that start to hang out here. it's so weird going from samsung to htc though.
I'm used to seeing a familiar face or two when i switch devices but the only guy I'm familiar with here is faux from my inspire 4g days.

So far I've brewed an American light beer.. an Oktoberfest and the one I currently have bubbling away is a Hefeweizen. Very excited to try my next batch.

yes. start small and be sure you enjoy the hobby. a lot if brewers may not agree but a cheap Mr beer kit is a really great way to get started. I'm into my first five gallon batch right now. joined a local beer brewing club to learn from others

I'm sure you'll find some good ones. When they had their Christmas sale, I bought something like 8 games for $70. Given, I'm a parent of a young child, so I don't game as much as I would like; so catching up on games that are a year or 2 old (so they are cheap).
