use QUALCOMM pluggin (if i reember correct)

something is there... can u help me out

to fix that you need to install chainfire 3d v2.8, that will fix the white texture problem
use "lower quality texture" and quallcomm plugin and make sure your device is atlease 1000 mhz and using chainfire 3d 2.8 version.

Make sure That if you are using Chainfire Pro its legitimate...as the app details say that Per App settings work only on Chainfire pro purchased from market..

i tried it on cf 3d pro 2.0 and 2.8( recently pm ed by a friend)

I can't seem to get it working. I have tried Chainfire3d 1.4/2.0/2.8 but they all give white textures. Anyone has a solution?
EDIT: ps. I already tried quallcom and powervr plugin with reduce texture size.
EDIT 2: nvm, got it working now on cm7 .

Are your values in the per app settings or in the general settings. If they are in the per app settings, Use reduce texture quality and quallcom plugin in the general settings and then open gangstar.

OK first of all you should know that the format of tga file given by gameloft is dependent on the device downloading the game.
If someone downloads the files and then reuploads for others then the files being downloaded by others is not compatible with it.
So what you need to do is simple convert those TGA files to open system ie such that these can be run on any system/mobile.

download and extract its amd software to view tga files know you need to open tga files being supplied by gameloft in this software and save as new tga files thats it.... Now transfer those to phone and enjoy........
Note: IF software says cant open tga files then rename *.tga to *.dds and retry to open .dds files and save as new tga files.

[Q] Open GL ES 1.0/1 - Pocket Legends on HTC Hero

Hey there guys,
Just looking for some information.
Currently im attempting to play a game from the market "Pocket Legends".
Open GL ES 1.1 is a requirement for this game, which is not covered by the stock Three UK android 2.1 ROM. Does anyone know if any HTC Hero ROMs include Open GL ES 1.1, or if the Hero just doesnt support Open GL ES 1.1?
Im currently running FroydVillain 1.7.2
Cronos gingerbread supports 1.1 OpenGL.
I don't know if any other rom do this...

Well we are not sure that Open GL ES 1.1 really works as it should. Some people experienced change, but i myself have not.
The reason I started the OpenGL thread at villainrom (Gerben) was because I have been searching for ways to launch pocket legends. Spacetimestudios considers making the game available for OpenGL ES 1.0, so then it should work.
But for the time being, I don't know anyone (And yes I have searched far and wide) who has the game working on their Hero

no, there is one way to make it works:
open file /system/lib/egl/egl.cfg and edit last 2 strings:
0 1 android
0 0 fimg
then you must write it with the same rights.
Don't reboot phone - it would not been started.
After playing you must return all back.

cool....
ok so we need a prefs toggle for this purpose I think. if I get time I'll develop one (maybe similar to my" media volume toggle" app) but any app devs could put one together for rooted phones I'd think.

What's it run like on hero??? Playable at all?

If you set egl.cfg so it reads
0 0 qcom
0 1 android
then pocket legends runs and you can leave it as there is no problem rebooting handset.
Haven't noticed any loss in performance doing this. Pocket legends runs fine although there are some graphical glitches, similar to the old version of Angry Birds.

there's only one version of 1.1 I think. either flash it or copy the lib over manually. but there's more to it - you need to edit build.prop and the jury's out as to whether we're doing that correctly yet for this graphics library. Also there's a rumor that the library needs special permissions and related settings to run correctly in all situations.

It's not a game that I've ever tried, but do you have the original game files as mentioned above?
Yes I got the original game files, but I'm stuck at blank screen.

i had this working both with the downloaded demo files as well as the original files on my galaxy tab 10.1
After some updates the beginning of the month I'm also now only getting the black screen.
After some googling, it seems that this is some display problem with sdl on this build. You can actually hear the music going with the black screen. Perhaps trying an older version, compiling our own version or.contacting the developer is our only options. I'd very much like this to work again.

VCMI for HOMM3 kept crashing on me
I got a black screen on my Asus Transformer.
I can hear the sound and if I manage to go blindly through the interface I can start a new game (I hear the grass or sea sound) but I cannot see anything, just black screen.
The game works fine on my HTC Desire HD. The VCMI doesn't work neither on the DHD nor the AT.
I wrote the author an email about the problem I had, hope he reads it soon!

The last GTA3 thread had to be deleted because of such behaviour, so this is everybody's last warning - the slightest hint of anyone distributing copies of this or any other paid app/game in this thread will result in instant bans.
Haven't tried it myself, but Rockstar has issued an update to the game on the Market adding full support for PowerVR devices. It now allows me to install it on my Defy which means they've explicitly added support for it.
Will purchase it when I get home and report back. Not gonna download the game over 3G!

edit the gta3.set whit hex editor
i have edited one for defy
all effects from the xperia play (light,shadows,trafic light, blood, smoke tire ....)
resolution to medium low
and distance to medium low
and som small tweaks for stutter (not working 100 % yet)
if you have problems i can upload my gta3.set not the game itself only the gta3.set file modded .
I am using the .DAT file fore SGSII.. and the game work perfect but with a little lags... can you pls describe how to change the shadows and dis. to medium? cause i just might change the SGSII file and optimize it for Defy use..
Here is a little tip how to make GTA3 more playable for you :
**Use at your own risk**
-Download from Google SD date files for GTA 3 for Tegra 2 (nVidia GPU).
-Replace with it the Original ones.
-Download ChainFire 3D and install plugins for Tagra GPU.
and use only low quality textures (might help a little)
-Download the .dat file for samsung galaxy S 2 and replace with it the original.
-also you can delete the radio music as i did but it might, might not help .
Now the game must run a lot better and with better quality then before.
again you can always restore every thing if you made back ups..
P.s. Tegra 2 Chainfire 3d plug in won't work on a normal GTA 3 but only for the version which was optimized to use with tegra 2 gpu.
p.s.s you can also turn off Dalvik JIP . i may or may not help you...

btw i lowered the resolution and view distance to better and don't have any issues .
Not the best and i believe that only v1.3 will fix most of the problems.
Just i have minor lag issue sometimes .. when cache is loading and i have no idea how to get rid of it.. i have tried to disable dalvik but its not very helpfull...
any ideas?
Playing just fine here after 1.2. If you are using chainfire better uninstall it as almost every game I tested with it got frame drops.

Uninstall the chainfire3D...
I have cm7, OC 1.100 ghz, I use swapper to make a 250mb virtual swap partition and delete the radios audio files from the game folder.

Hahaha it's true. I think because of the forum's rules.

You can communicate in any language you wish but there must be an English translation posted too.
Any posts that do not contain an English translation will be deleted and the user responsible will be punished.
So, the game is almost unplayable in my Defy. Lots and lots of slowdowns.

actually update wouldnt resolve it... instagram use OpenGL 2.2 and Galaxy Y has OpenGL 1.1

Well, samsung sure messed up, giving our model an outdated openGL plugin.
I haven't a clue about how to port, or update the openGL plugin version on a phone, but could someone from the developer section care to enlighten us? As in, is someone genius enough to attempt to update our openGL to 2.2, from 1.1, or is it impossible?
I don't know if chainfire3d would be able to work with it, I'm not sure :-(
What worries me, is even in the chainfire3d thread, it states your device should have openGL 2.0 for it to work. And that IS confusing, as I use it successfully, to make gta 3 ten year anniversary game work , along with others.
So if someone is reading this from developer section, who makes custom roms, or knows how to update the openGL.so driver, then please enlighten us.
Why oh why though, did instagram have to choose 2.2?
Why not create their app, using simpler filter effect methods, like how picplz, etc use?
Anyways, hope someone with some brains knows the score LOL.

And just for the record - I like or would like to use instagram for android more for the Social network elements, more than the actual filters, applied to photos. I know there are other applications that do it better, but it's just the instagram buzz - their service, when you use the new app, as a glorified photo viewer, seems to me like they have pretty much their own Social network in the app, how working follow users on instagram, similar to how you follow people on twitter.
So unless instagram use some backyard compatible openGL, or incorporated the 2.2 plugin in the app, then were screwed. Hell would freeze before I admit defeat and buy that phone beginning with "a" that is a dirty word here lolz
So I hope someone from dev section can sensibly help, or suggest what could be done.
Can chainfire3d be used, to update a plugin to make instagram think it's running 2.2, or something?
I really don't know LOL. So hopefully someone who does know will see this and reply ;-)

According to this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1512749) sgy's GPU is OpenGL ES 2.0 and according to Instagram support (http://help.instagram.com/customer/portal/articles/168158-supported-os-devices) it will run on any camera phone with Android 2.2 or above with support for OpenGL ES 2.
I don't see why it doesn't work on sgy.
Last night I went out an update, but still not working: (
According to bechmark app Quadrant Standard this phone is equipped with OpenGL ES 2.0. I think that Instgram could have troubles with QVGA resolution.

I don't think so. My friend has Galaxy Mini (Pop/Tass) and it works fine.

Google is your friend. Search it. That's what I did, and it works (off topic)
It's chainfire3d that needs openGL, AND it's gta 3 that needs just plugins you can install in chainfire3d, to get it to work. The actual plugins aren't the webGL part.

Hmmm, it's working on galaxy mini? Has that got ldpi, QVGA screen too?
I've seen @instagramhelp on twitter tell someone that our device only had 1.1 openGL, but clearly they don't know $#&t!
Well, I don't know if galaxy g5 is similar to mini, but I will try on that phone, as it's got cm7 (psyke's madrom port) on it.
If you look at the help, @instagramhelp are giving on twitter too, you'll want to scream at them lol, they're lliterally copy and pasting a generic answer to anyone who has a android device, which shows you something ;-)
Anyways i'll try my other phone, and just keep an eye open for it here and in play store

And I do doubt if they can answer anything about the problems. I tweeted to them last night, still waiting for reply.
our device had 2.0 from the number version on build.prop says 131072 since 65537 is 1.1
what's causing it to work is may because of our phone's GPU..

They mention the black squares issue on their know issues page, and trying to fix it, but they only mention galaxy s 2, not our galaxy y.
But who knows, perhaps it might work then, but I really don't know.
All I know is that I was looking forward to getting instagram for android for months.
I wish they'd of just done the filter technology more android friendly, like how camera 360, or picplz is :-(

I can suggest Lightbox, it has an advanced camera and it's community oriented just like Instagram. But I think we're going a little bit off topic.
But there's really something that makes Instagram different from other apps. Let me just go OT for a while: back then I keep on using Pixlr-o-matic + CameraZoom FX, then share to Facebook. Nothing fancy though. Not until this app was released. Took a pic, and shared, then a different feeling came out of me. Perhaps since I think that having it's own app + personal site to view the photo/s makes the big difference.

How to get Hearthstone working on Bluestacks? I've followed the instructions for APK and OBB files in this thread if it's of any interest to you however couldn't get it to work.
Has anyone got it to work? Could you give me some step by step instructions?

there nothing you can do to make it work right now. the prolem is Bluestacks RAM is under the minimum Specs of the game. wait for an update or report it to the developer.

you can manage the amount of RAM and the screen resolution by REGEDIT.
Then using BStweaker can change the build.prop, and the above settings easyli...
u need rooted BS.
